Sasha shook her head, making a sound of amusement that wasn't quite
a laugh. "I would feel terrible. Okay, I am going to hand you the
biggest blanket here and then bring you the pole. Once I flip it
up, we can adjust until we have it even. For now, I think it is
just a matter of getting the blankets on the poles," she said,
grabbing the pile of blankets and setting them beside Agathe.
"Okay, they are to your left. And here is the first one."
"I'd find a way to make you laugh though. Probably a few jokes
about letting a blind person help build something." Agathe chuckled
as she grabbed the blanket and was careful about how she put it on
the pole, so it wasn't likely to fall off. "How's that?"
Sasha did laugh at that. "I think anyone who thinks you are
helpless because you are blind is silly. And yes, that works very
well! Going to set this up and bring the second one over," she
said, taking the blanket covered pole back to it's spot. "We might
have some clamps we can use to clamp some of the blankets
together."
"Then you'd be surprised at how many silly people there are. Not
only do some think me helpless, but others think I'm dangerous!"
Agathe was making it plain to see that she didn't take either kind
of person seriously. "Ooh! I've never used clamps to make a fort
before! But then again I've never had clamps on hand." She was
excited, and was showing that plainly.
"I can't remember if I have or not. I know we have some. For the
artists who lived here. The artists who are living here will be
using them now," Sasha giggled at the thought, finishing putting up
the last of the covered poles. "It'll look like a giant tent," she
commented, moving some of the blankets to see what it's look like
together. "Coming together nicely. And the bases give a bit of
warning for we actually hit the pole."
Agathe helped where she could and made sure to keep out of Sasha's
way to the best of her ability. "That's always good. I dislike it
when things are the other way around... The base is set inwards so
that people like me walk into whatever it is." She chuckled
remembering a few headaches that could've been avoided.
"Oh! Yes, that sounds very painful," Sasha replied, sympatheticly.
"We'll keep the poles to the outer edge so that they are easy to
avoid and not accidentally knocked over too. I can do that with my
tail much too easily if I'm not careful." A couple of minutes
later, Sasha had it finished. "There. I think you can reach it if
you'd like to feel along the edge. We cm now fill the middle with
pillows and blankets!"
Agathe reached out and started working her way around the entire
thing feeling the edge so she had an idea of how big the area was.
"It was a bit painful, but I learned quickly." She chuckled.
"Pillows and blankets sounds great! Can I help carry those? I know
I didn't help much in building this, so I'd like to help with
that."
"I probably can." Agathe grinned. "If you lead me to the pillows
and blankets I'll take care of the rest! I'll make a masterpiece!
I'm sure it'll look awful, but feel great!"
"Pshhh! It'll be awesome! I am sure of it! Let's go get those
pillows and blankets!" Sasha replied. She led the way, using a
blaket like a pack to help carry a stack back to the fort.
Agathe helped carry the blanket and other pillows back to the fort,
and immediately got to work on setting things around the inside.
Soon enough she came out to say she was done. The inside didn't
look half bad, but to lay on it it felt perfect. The pillows had
been laid out on the floor, one of the blankets tucked over them so
they wouldn't move too much, and the other blanket was set aside to
be used as an actual blanket, along with the rest of the pillows.
"How is it?"
After stepping in and enjoying the nest like quality of it, Sasha
grinned. She took Agathe's hand in hers, squeezing lightly. "It's
amazing! Better then my nest, honestly. And just so you know, it
looks good as well. I love it! Thank you," she exclaimed. Coiling
her tail up on part of the pillows, she sighed happily. "...I
forgot pajama's are needed...shall we go find you some?"
Agathe smiled broadly and giggled at the comment about being better
than her nest. "Why are you thanking me? You built the tent part so
it was both of us, so thank you!" She then shook her head. "I'm
good in these. I'm used to sleeping in this outfit... I've never
really had anything else to wear... But I guess these are probably
pretty dirty, so maybe it might be a good idea to change so I don't
get the blankets and pillows dirty..." She was mostly just thinking
out loud.
"I don't know why..it just felt right," Sasha giggled, then shook
her head. "I don't care about that. We can always wash this stuff.
I won't make you wear something else but the offer for other
clothes is there. We can make you new ones out of older clothes or
some of the stashed away fabric."
New clothes? Agathe smiled at the comment about not forcing her to
wear other clothes. Sasha really did care. "Maybe some pajamas
wouldn't be a bad idea..." She really didn't want to get things
dirty because then they'd have to take things apart to wash them
sooner than if she was cleaner.
"To the spare clothes!" Sasha grinned. "There should be some in the
supply room. Others in some of the rooms as well. Should I lead you
by hand or voice?"
Agathe giggled and blushed faintly. "If you don't mind, I'd like it
if you lead me by hand. Holding your hand gives me a feeling of
safety..." It wasn't often that she felt safe, let alone this
comfortable.
Sasha beamed, doing a little happy dance as she moved over to
Agathe. "I am really glad you feel that way. I do too. The whole
being safe with you thing." Taking the woman's hand, she led the
way to the supply room. "Nightgown or shirt and pants?"
