Oliver swallowed lightly, and smiled. "2nd year, Hufflepuff." He
said, saving time so she didn't also ask 'what house?'. He just
didn't like too many questions, they made him nervous and
flustered. Which wouldn't be a good first impression. He sniffled
lightly.
Elliha yelped as the door swung open and a lady with a cart
appeared. "Would you like anythin' from the trolley, miss?" The
lady said with a smile and thick British accent. Elliha nodded, and
grabbed a few chocolate frogs and pumpkin pasties before paying the
lady and smiling. They set the treats on their lap. The lady moved
on to the next compartment.
Shauna waited excitedly for the trolley to come to her seat, which
she made sure was very far away from the other witches and wizards.
She smiled as the trolley came a bit closer to her, and she took
out a few coins.
Diana was now flipping through a book for Advanced Defense Against
the Dark Arts. It really was fascinating but it was hard to
concentrate on the book. This year was her last at Hogwarts. It was
kind of scary, but she was also really excited.
"I'm second year! Ravenclaw though." she said, smiling, her Irish
accent obvious. It had been a year since she had met someone new
and she really wanted a friend.
Luna nodded. "Yes, I know all about fiendfyre. It's a very
dangerous spell, even master spell casters have a hard time
controlling It." She looked down at Sterling on her lap, and over
to Aero staring intently at the cat. "Sterling be nice." She
scolded the feline. "If you don't I'll put you back in your
carrier." The cat gave an annoyed meow, and gave the owl one last
look before closing her eyes.
Ethan and Elizabeth were walking down the train trying to find
place with no first years. Ethan mentioned Elizabeth to come and
opened door. ''Hey! Can we sit here?'' He asked person sitting
there. He wasn't sure about their gender so he didn't want to
offend them. ''Rest of the train is full.'' Elizabeth added,
smiling. She, too, wasn't sure of persons gender.
That was when they noticed rat and their cats noticed it, too.
Black cat jumped from Elizabeths arms getting ready to attack rat.
''Nyx, no!'' She said seriously taking cat back in her arms. Ethan
then felt claws dig into his arm. He noticwedthat Zemi was scared
of rat. He smiled because of irony. ''I am Ethan and this scaredy
cat is Zemi.'' He pointed with arm that wasn't holding cat like it
wasn't obvious. ''And this is Elizabeth, but you can call her
Lizzy.'' Elizabeth frowned at him. ''I can introduce myself.'' She
said in jokingly angry voice. ''But yes, you can call me
Lizzy.''
Shauna sighed in relief as she could stay sitting alone. She heard
the commotion, and was even more thankful. She hugged the book she
was planning to read, and then opened it on the first page.
Elliha blinked, then smiled sweetly. "I'm Elliha! It's nice to meet
you two." They purred, and held their rat close. Callie, the eat,
quivered. She watched the cat closely, and Elliha let out a sweet
laugh. "Sorry about Callie." They mumbled, rubbing the back of
their neck.
Oliver looked up as he noticed the treolley at their door. He shook
his head, since he wasn't hungry. "What about you..?" He asked,
looking to the Ravenclaw.
Diana grabbed her guitar from under her seat and got out a nitebook
from her bag. She put the music in her lap and practiced playing
her guitar to the song she was writing.
The lady took the money and handed her three pasties. The lady
walked to the next compartment, knocking on the door. Oliver smiled
at the Ravenclaw. "Looks good."
The moment that Ethan heard Elliha speak up, he sat down. With wide
smile he looked at Elizabeth. She knew way too good that smile. It
was: 'I like this person and they are now my friend' smile. She
sighed and sat next to Ethan. She knew that she will need to be one
to look out, but Elliha seemed like nice person. ''So which house
are you from?'' She asked, petting her cat.
Ethan was still smiling, but one question was troubling him. ''And
what is your gender?'' He said before he could stop himself. When
he realised what he asked, he added: ''If you want to tell us of
course. I know that some people are uncomftroble when asked about
their gender...'' He started babbling and got stare from Lizzy.
Right away he realised what it means and stoped. Smile replaced his
thinking face. ''I am sorry for babbling.''
"I'm a Slytherin, actually." Elliha said softly. They jumped at
Ethan's sudden question, but laughed lightly as they began to
ramble. "I... Don't consider myself to have a gender... Ah, I get
if you think it's weird, many people do. I just don't feel
masculine or feminine. Kinda... In between. Both, neither, not
sure..." They said, sniffling and smiling. They pet Callie, who was
still wary of the cats.
Oliver shook his head, politely denying the food. "No thank you,
I'm not hungry." He said with a wide smile, running a hand through
his hair.
''Lizzy is Slytherin, too!'' Ethan said happily. He was very
excited to hear what Elliha has to say about their gender and he
listened to every word like it was best thing in the universe. At
least until he heard Elliha sniffing. It confused him. Maybe he was
huge crybaby, but he never knew how to react if someone else was
sad. He decided to try his best.
While he was thinking Elizabeth went to sit next to Elliha. Before
she did she handed Nyx to Ethan who was petting Zemi while
thinking. ''Listen, I don't know much about genders. But if it's
how you feel than it's the right way.'' She was always good at
helping people.
Ethan looked at his new friend when he stopped thinking about how
to help them. ''Just like Lizzy said.'' He said while holding cats.
''And I guess that they really don't teach us such things in
Hogwarts or at home, so it's normal to not really know...'' He
trailed off trying to find a way to finish his sentence, but he
couldn't really find words.
Shauna saw the trolley roll around near her seat, yet not to the
back where she was. "Ugh, I'm hungry noooooooooooow!" she
thought. She put down her purse and book, and walked over to the
trolley to buy as much candy and chocolate as she could. "Who needs
money for replacement spell books?" she said to herself as she let
herself buy more candy then she could eat.
