(Dragiii =DDD)
In the nearby distance, Marshall heard a soldier blurt out a phrase in a somewhat ancient language. It roughly translated into 'Come, over there!'
The demon bounced off of the trees, slamming his legs into Marshall's core and knocking him back, pinning the half-demon to the ground. "Thought you could get away, half-breed?" The soldier chuckled. Marshall's eyes narrowed. By the way it seemed, the demon was some sort of lieutenant or captain. The demon pulled back, grinning mischievously. Marshall scrambled to his feet, but the demon was too quick for him to dodge. A sword sliced his shoulder.

Marshall grimaced, clutching his shoulder. He clenched his hand, holding it outwards while focusing on the demon. With the last bits of his strength, the demon's chest concaved greatly, a pool of blood forming around him as he fell. "Marshall!" Half-yelped half-hissed a voice, one Marshall recognized as Fallow's. He barely acknowledged her teleportation before he passed out.

(hOIII!!! I, uh, have to leave on Thursday... please don't be mad)
Abeline rushed through the forest, ignoring the wail of the demons. Her heart was in her throat, beating with one thought: survivesurvivesurvivesurvivesurvivesurvive. Her long legs carried her easily through the maze of trees and underbrush. She nearly cried as she spotted a small alcove along the side of the hill.
She figured that it was some sort of abandoned badger nest, as she could tell by the scent. The entrance was small, but the inside was surprisingly big for an animal such as a badger. As soon as she squeezed into the hole, she began scoot dirt into the entrance, covering it up so it looked natural. When she was finished, she sighed in exhaustion, hoping that the smaller tunnels peppering the area would let oxygen in.

(Sowwy I've been procrastinating this for way too long QwQ)
Wait a minute... did I just leave Abeline behind? Fallow thought, clenching Marshall's arm tighter in surprise. "Whoa--what... how... when... hi?" The elf murmured, taken by surprise. "You don't happen to have any bandages or something with you?" Fallow murmured hopefully, looking up at Trauma. The elf shook his head. Fallow bit her lip, looking at the large open wound on the hybrid's shoulder. It doesn't count if he doesn't get in the water, right? Fallow thought, looking at the waterfall exit. "Trauma, could you do me a favor and splash some water on Marshall's shoulder? Just use your hands to cup it or something."
Although the request was odd, Trauma reluctantly did what Fallow requested. The wound, slowly, began to close up, but not enough to be left open. Fallow simply used his jacket and tied it around his shoulder. "You dare come near our waters, dark entity?" Roared a silky but demonic voice. Fallow flinched, turning around to see a mermaid carrying a silver trident. Right now?... Argh, I need to find Abeline...

(*pats* I forgive you or do I?)
Abeline clutched her knees to her chest as she heard the quiet-but-not-quite-silent footfalls of the demonic soldiers above her cave. They spoke is a spitting, harsh language that vaguely reminded her of Russian and German. Although she knew bits of both, she couldn't pick up a single word they spoke. Obviously, they were not speaking a living language from Earth.
One's voice raised in anger, scolding another. The companion hissed back something, sounding self-defensive. The two got into an argument, stomping on the ground. Dirt shook from the ceiling, and Abeline pressed herself farther into the wall.

(Yay i think)
Fallow folded her hands in her lap, preparing herself for what might result in hours of explanation. Or defense. Whichever road the encounter took, Fallow prepared herself for it. "And you. Elf, creature of the forest... have you betrayed us?" The mermaid hissed, pointing her trident in their direction. Trauma was utterly shocked, facing his palms up at the water creature, opening his mouth to hastily explain.

Fallow, remaining calm, beat him to it. "No. My brother and I are rogues of the demon kingdom; the elf was brought here under different circumstances." Her heart raced rapidly. Light blue aura laced over the curved tips of the trident, charging up a spell. "What circumstances?" The mermaid growled, her dark-red eyes shimmering maliciously. She wants to kill us. Probably has a bad history with the demons.

"He passed out and we took him here," Fallow explained, slowly. She scowled, speaking harshly. "Is that so?" Trauma spoke, this time a bit more confidently. "Um... excuse, ma'am... One of our allies, a nature entity--at least i think so--is under attack by demon soldiers. Would you mind letting us go, at the very least?" Trauma murmured. The mermaid paused. "You may go. I sense honesty in you; the demons will not accompany you," she replied. "Okay, great--wait, what?" Trauma murmured, pausing before he fully got up. "Before I change my mind. You will come back, elf, or I hunt you down." Trauma reluctantly left.

(WEEE or(e) am I?)
As Abeline was trying to meld herself with the wall, the fight grew physical. The words that had seemed almost human ripped into something else, growls and angry snarls. The two slashed and clawed at each other, yipping in pain and howling in agony. Abeline covered her ears against the horrid sounds, moaning slightly.

Ah. Now this might've not been the best idea, Trauma thought, looking contently over a tree. A demon soldier spotted him, making his heart leap. The soldier dashed towards him, and Trauma crossed his saxe knives in front of his face to dodge a blow. The demon simply dashed past him, ignoring the snow elf's existence. As if he needed to be somewhere. The soldier barely touched the floor, and when he did it was to push himself back up, barely a foot away from the ground. Can those hybrids down there do that? Trauma thought, a bit of fear growing for them. Either way, I have to find the deer girl. Return the favor, he thought, pulling his hood over his head, silently leaping to a tall tree branch. Trauma leapt from tree to tree, following behind the demon.

There was a sickening crunch, and one creature fell silent. The other howled with bloodlust, and others replied. How many where there? All her life she always had an alternative exit. She had never before been this cornered. Her heartrate picked up rapidly, and she blinked back tears.

It's not possible she got captured, right? He wondered, worry growing deep in his gut. He barely knew the girl but would be devastated if she was even hurt. Realizing that he was holding his breath, Trauma exhaled before ducking to dodge a tree branch from swinging into his face. The demon he was following was fast. Much faster than he was. Still, the demon didn't seem to sense Trauma's presence. Can demons sense auras?... Trauma thought, still unsure. He followed the demon, attempting to pick up speed. His back was beginning to hurt from being crouched down for such a long period of time. The demon melted into a swarm of other demon guards, each with armor and some sort of metal weapon. Trauma bit his lip, watching from nearby.

(Shhh... procrastination? No...)
Abeline listened closely, but no. The remaining demon sped off, barking and yipping hellishly. Abeline sniffed the air but all she could detect was the warm scent of earth. she poked a tiny hole into her man-made barrier and saw that there were no demons to be seen. She dug out the rest of her hole, sprinting towards where she believed the lake was, with one thought pounding through her head: SAFETYSAFETYSAFETYSAFETY.

(Ah, yes. Procrastination is an old friend of mine...)
Trauma shudder at the sight of the demons, grouping up as they listened to some sort of ancient language. They roared with agreement. He realized, slowly, that they were more animalistic than they were human--they seemed to carry themselves on four legs, and their horns seemed more gnarled and twisted than Fallow's. They suddenly seemed to morph, their spines making sickening cracks as their hind legs grew. It carried on until they were more humane (with the exception of wings, horns, and a tail). Trauma flinched, scanning around for Abeline.

Abeline skidded to a halt. She was on a cliff, overlooking the lake. She let out a growl of frustration. She was so close. She closed her eyes and calmed her beating her, and shook her head. "I have to hide myself while I look for a way down." She murmured to herself, coaxing her body into the painful change. "I have to be able to hide. I have to be able to run." Her face grew into a snout, bones popping as they adjusted. She crouched down on all fours. "I have to be able to--" A snort escaped her lips, fur growing out everywhere. She let loose a huffed deer cry before leaping along the ridge, looking for a way to go down. She was painfully aware of how un-deerish she was acting.

Fallow threw herself in front of her brothers body, holding her spear up to deflect a sudden overhand blow. Sweat beaded on her skin, a sudden festering feeling coursing throughout her body. She hadn't been this annoyed in quite a long time. She exhaled through her nose, mentally preparing herself to fight. She scanned the mermaid, noticing how her muscles rippled each time she threw forth an attack. She relies mostly on her physical abilities in combat, Fallow noted, wishing that Marshall was awake. His powers would do good in this sort of situation.

"Stop trying to kill us!" Fallow snapped, deflecting the trident away as if it were a simple flick. She bent down, sliding forwards and slamming her foot into the mermaid's exposed abdomen. She thrusted her spear at the mermaid's chest, aiming for the kill. The mermaid leaped back, blocking the blow with her trident. Fallow held her tongue against the roof of her mouth, forcing herself to focus her energy. She teleported behind the mermaid, pushing herself off the wall and slamming her feet at the mermaid's exposed back. The attack was dodged.

Abeline gave a snort of triumph as she discovered a slanting slope that led down to the beach. Demons couldn't go in the water, and Abeline certainly wasn't a demon. She darted to the edge of the water, throwing up a cloud of sand. The breeze rolling off the ocean was sweet and salty. She began to wade into the ocean, grimacing as it healed every scar on her body. Every painful memory that had stayed with her on her body was gone. It pained her to do it, but it was a life or death situation.

(Sorry for taking so long >~<)
Marshall's eyes fluttered open, the sounds of metal brutally slamming against each other alarming him slightly. He backed up to the wall, glancing around with a mix of surprise and fear. A creature--a mermaid, perhaps--lunged towards Fallow with a trident. Marshall inhaled sharply, moving his arm swiftly to the left. The trident was yanked out of the mermaid's hand and into the wall. A ribbon of dark aura wrapped around the mermaid, preventing her from moving. Fallow, surprised, put away her spear and ran over to Marshall. "You just woke up... you shouldn't be doing this," she chided, inspecting his face in search of fatigue or injuries. "What did you do?" He mumbled, looking over at the mermaid. "More importantly, where's Abeline?..."

(NO FORGIVENESS!)
Abeline dove underwater, paddling powerfully through the water. It whooshed around her, a gentle hand. After a minute, she came up, gasping for air. She had no idea where the cave was. She couldn't stay out here forever. She kept paddling though, knowing that she was in the safest place right then and there.

(*cri*)
Fallow glanced over at the mermaid, biting her lip in thought. The mermaid didn't even attempt to move--she just stayed put, a mischievous spark in her eyes. Something's wrong. Using an arm, she pushed Marshall backwards and pointed her weapon at the mermaid, holding it stiffly at the creature's neck. "What are you up to?" Fallow hissed, baring her teeth. The mermaid's dark eyes glimmered, her lips curving into a wicked smile. "Petty demons. Do you really believe you'd be able to defeat a mermaid in her army, next to a body of water no less?"

A sudden wave of water crashed through the mouth of the cave, slamming viciously against the walls and knocking the two demon siblings off of their feet. Taken by surprise, Fallow abruptly opened her arms and glanced around. The water hurt, as if it were injecting daggers into her skin--one of the mermaid's tricks, she presumed. She swam over to Marshall, who grabbed her arm and incased the two of them in a bubble of darkness. The dark waters were hard to see in, as if they were already deep underwater.
"We need to get out," Marshall said in a hushed voice, just as the waters started dragging them inwards. The bubble popped, due to Marshall's lack of energy. Fallow grabbed him, struggling to move forwards with just her legs and wings. They reached the second entrance of the cave after what wasn't long, both of them fleeing away despite knowing that their allies might return.

(No, shu, bab. It all gonna be k.)
Abeline sputtered, spitting out a glob of spit and salt water. Her lungs burned, and her mouth stung. The demons were lining the shore now; evidently, they had spotted her paddling in the water. They jeered at her, cheering her eventual drown, yet they were too skittish to touch the water itself.
Her head, barely above the water, whipped around as she heard movement. Fallow and Marshall were moving. Marshall was slumped on her back, and she was struggling to keep moving forwards, but with a desperateness that only comes during life-or-death situations. She was going to call out, but then the sea boiled beneath them.
Creatures with mouths full of fangs, and webbed fingers tipped with dangerous talons, swarmed the two. Abeline cried out, beginning to swim towards them.

Marshall spit out a mouthful of water, which was surprisingly salty. "Don't you dare use your--"
Ignoring Fallow, Marshall sent out a blast of darkness that sent the creatures back, hissing and wailing in pain. Fallow's wings extended with this help of the black magic. Fallow winced, struggling to fly out of the water. She quickly bolted to a nearby tree, huffing with exasperation. Marshall sighed, his head spinning violently. His vision was blurring a bit...
"Marshall, you're going to pass out," she mumbled, sighing. He didn't respond. Glancing down at the swarm of creatures, he realized that they were blind--pawns, only controlled by a superior. They didn't even know the general directions of the two demons, as of now.

Abeline was blasted back as Fallow flew out of the water. The creatures hadn't noticed her--yet. They were still swarming the area where Fallow and Marshall had been paddling moments earlier. She bit her lip, knowing that the waters were no longer safe. "Oh crap." She muttered, realizing that the soldiers on the shoreline had most likely noticed the tussle with the mermaids or whatever the creatures were, and probably saw wherever Fallow and Marshall had disappeared to. Her eyes grazed the nearby trees, searching for the two before their enemies found them.
