(I don't know that much about geographical structures, forgive me if anything I write is inaccurate =p)
"I can also dig a hole with my shadow-claw thing," Marshall suggested reluctantly, smudging the sand with his foot idly. He felt somewhat uncomfortable under Abeline's presence, but not bad enough that he couldn't deal with it. Perhaps it was her eyes--no, he had been fine with that before. He shrugged it off, looking at the water in an attempt to distract his mind.

(We're writing from the point of views of demon children and doe girl, do you think I'd care if anything was inaccurate geographically?! XD)
Abeline's shoulders bobbed. "Whatever you think is easier. However, it might be better if we found a cave rather than creating one, because the sound might attract the soldiers back here, and they would probably notice the shift in landscape." Abeline had been hunted for about two years now, and demon or not, people searching for others tend to revisit the same spot. A mound of sand would be a dead give-away to their coordinates.

(XDD I guess not)
"Good point," he noted, looking around at the lake. Argh. The only caves I know of near here would be underwater, he thought, knowing that that wasn't an option for the sake of both him and Fallow. Fallow stepped forwards, almost dangerously close to the water. Her tail swished in thought and she looked back at them. A spark seemed to light up her blue eyes, meaning she had an idea. "I can scan around the lake for caves... because, um, flying," she murmured. "Yeah, I guess if you want," Marshall murmured. Fallow nodded and, although a focus look crossed her face, easily levitated over the water. Marshall's dark aura strengthened her wings, making them larger so that she could actually fly and not just levitate pathetically. She flew off into the distance, casting invisibility upon herself.

(I feel like just writing this first sentence, XD)
As Fallow disappeared into thin air, awkwardness descended upon the duo left behind like a wet blanket, annoying and smothering. Abeline scuffled her foot in the grit, and tried to make small talk. "So, um... where are you from?"

(Ahahaha this is so awkward that its adorable)
"The demon city that the soldiers are from," he replied nimbly, avoiding her gaze because of social awkwardness. "I--um... what about you?" He said, the tenseness pure in his voice.

(I know right! Are we shipping Fallow x Abeline or Marshall x Abeline, 'cause one is totally gonna happen, let's be honest here)
"In the US, but far away from here." Abeline took a look around before adding, "I think." The silence was once again dominant in their conversation. Where is Fallow? Abeline wailed in her head. "Uh... so, um, why are you in the human world?"

(I don't know, it's too early to telllllllll
Struggle is real)

Argh. I don't hate Abeline, but this is seriously awkward... Marshall thought, moving the sand with his foot again. "Um... we're running from the soldiers and the demon world is sorta... against us, I guess? It's not that good to be a hybrid in our world," he said, uncomfortably. It wasn't a light topic for either of the twins. Fallow suddenly teleported back, a somewhat delightful look in her eyes.
"I found a small cave, but I think it'll do. Come," she said, not even waiting for a reply. She grabbed Marshall's hand and put a hand on Abeline's shoulder, dragging them forwards a bit before teleporting. It was a damp cave with low lighting and even lower ceilings, but it didn't seem to be a problem. Marshall's head wasn't quite at the ceiling, and Abeline was approximately his height. Plus, Fallow was short, so it wasn't really a problem. A waterfall cloaked the entrance, and Fallow pulled Marshall back from the water. "Don't touch that," she warned.

Abeline ducked her head inside the cave. Her eyebrow cocked at Fallow's warning to Marshall, but she knew better than to pry. Instead, she made (the amazingly wonderful) small talk. "How did you find this cave? And where are the exits?" Even though Fallow, and possibly Marhsall, had teleportation powers, she wasn't about to get lazy with her safety. There was one rule that she stuck to, and never broke. Always, always be careful. Mistakes and being clumsy could get one killed, or, worse, locked up and experimented on.

"There's an exit over there where the cave slopes downwards. You'll have to climb a bit, but I'm sure you can handle it. Oh, you can also exit through the bigger entrance if you don't mind swimming. The water's not high," Fallow said, a bit idly. She smiled a bit, although it was kind of a reluctant one. Marshall seemed a bit nervous about the cave, but trusting Fallow whole-heartedly, he decided to cope with it. Noticing Abeline's questioning look, Marshall turned his gaze to her. "We can't touch the water of Serenity Lake. The water species that live in the lake can sense whenever a devil or demon--and yes, there is a difference--touches the water. We demons don't have a really good relationship with the nature or water entities, so... yeah."

Despite herself, Abeline gave a snort. "What did you guys do? I thought water spirits were supposed to be the hippy-dippy elementals." She gave a shrug. "Then again, what do I know about demons?" She gave a tiny laugh. "I'm going to go explore the exits, to get familiar. I don't want the first time I use them to be running from soldiers." With that, Abeline trotted delicately to the part of the cave that was angled slightly towards the ground.

(Abeline's just gonna walk around a bit, I don't really know what else to do with her, tbh XD)

"The demons do a lot of terrible things," Fallow replied calmly, laying on her back on the stone floor. Her aqua hair fanned out, revealing her full devil's horns, which actually looked quite lethal. She watched the girl walk off, saying a quiet and quick 'bye' before Abeline climbed out of the cave. "I can't believe the demon soldiers found us," Marshall murmured hollowly. "Mmm. We just need to throw them off our trail or something," she replied, looking towards the waterfall exit.

Having explored the exit thoroughly, Abeline padded back into the cave. Her shirt was already damp from the humidity, and it was clinging uncomfortably to her body. She plopped down, her back against the cave wall, trying to squelch her hunger and thirst. The last time she had eaten was awhile ago, before she even met Fallow or Marshall. She had drank just before she had met them, but she was still in desperate need of food or water. "So, what're we gonna do around here to pass the time?"

Marshall shrugged, as if he was about to suggest something but slipped back into the arms of silence. He wondered if the awkwardness between the twins and Abeline would ever fade, although if they stayed together it might. Are we even going to stay together?... He glanced to the side. "We could probably go collect some food," Fallow suggested.

Abeline gave a nod, and made her way to the water exit. She assumed that the two were going to follow through teleportation, with the water spirits and everything. The alcove she entered had a high ceiling, and water lapped at the shores. Stalagmites and stalactites speared the air around her, and she picked her path carefully.
As she came to the edge, she made a clumsy dive, nearly trying again, but continued on her path as she propelled herself forwards. The cave jutted out into the water, and she had to swim underneath it for awhile. For a moment, she was panicked that she would drown, but her head bobbed to the surface in time. She dog-paddled, surprised how close the cave was to shore, while she waited for the twins to appear.

(Page four and I've already made a new character... haha... whoops.)
Fallow appeared, flying, whilst holding on to Marshall's wrists to keep them out of the water. "Ohgodwaves," Marshall yelped, genuinely afraid of the water. She flew higher above the water, looking around a bit before she found Abeline. "There you are," she murmured, about to hover down but realizing that she probably shouldn't.
-----
Trauma glanced around the terrain. There was a large body of water just beyond the rock that he hid under. It's not worth it. There are others... he thought, tempted to just go up anyways. So why wasn't he turning back? He closely examined the girl that was swimming. She had strange, icy eyes, which indicated that she couldn't be human. The flying one, obviously, was a demon--or a devil? The other one was probably a devil-demon too. Curiosity killed the cat, I guess... he thought, about to step out before the aqua-haired girl landed, a gust of darkness hurling off of her before she did. He was knocked back into a rotting tree, making the branches fall down with a crash.

I know the feeling
(Wait, how did Fallow land?! 0-0)
Abeline paddled to shore, knowing that the two would be able to follow easily. As she reached the sand, a sigh of relief blew from between her lips, and she wiped the water off them. When she stood up, she shed a coat of sand, but some persistent particles remained attached. She gave a brief sigh, before treading forward, looking for something edible.

(I kinda assumed that they were semi-near the land... am I wrong? QwQ)
"What was that?" Fallow muttered, jumping a bit as she looked towards the fallen branches. "Oh. That was probably from the darkness that spread out when we landed," Marshall replied apologetically. "Are you sure?..." Fallow said skeptically, looking over at the crashed branched nervously. None of the other branches had crashed, so was there something about that tree? "C'mon," Marshall said, about to being the search for food. Fallow slipped away, going towards the pile of dead branches because of moral. She lightly moved the large branch, looking back at Marshall and Abeline. "Um... guys, can you come over here?" She called out, looking at the unconscious elf body on the ground.

(I guess we are! XD)
Abeline picked her way to Fallow, alert for danger. Her instincts were razor sharp as she came up behind her, and she regarded the situation calmly. "Who is he? Do you know him?" After the corpse scare, an unconscious person didn't quite scare her as much. She took note of his pointed ears. Well, if all the fantasy I read when I was younger was right at all, this guy's an elf.

Marshall's eyes narrowed, his reply almost cold. "No." His heart seemed to pick up speed as he bent down next to the body. He moved the cloak a bit, using two fingers to search for a pulse. The demon let out a sigh of relief and Fallow seemed to un-tense a bit. "Should we take him back to the cave or something?... I can wait for him to wake over there," she said, looking at him with pity. Marshall looked back at her cynically, his lips pursed. She sighed, "Marshall, we can't just leave him out here to die... don't you have morals?" He didn't answer, but he seemed to be considering it. "Please? We could take away his weapons or something... right, Abeline?" Fallow mumbled, looking at the shapeshifter with soft eyes.

Abeline gave a quick nod. "Of course we can't just leave him here to die. Besides, he might know something about the demon soldiers. Let's search him for weapons and tie him up." Abeline began to pat the elf down, flinging aside a dagger, still sheathed.
