So my roommate recently got me into cosplaying. i didnt want to embrace my inner nerd.. but when we went to sakura con in seattle i had so much fun! now i plan on doing alot more.

We cosplayed as naruto characters. I was Gaara, my girlfriend was Kankuro, and our roommate was Temari. Instrgram here: Calicomoose_cos

During that convention i ran into a perfect officer jenny. I was amazed, she did a great job :]

Do you cosplay? tell me your first cosplay story.

I love to cosplay, in fact I wear a Pikachu jacket whenever I'm out and about. I mean that doesn't count much but it's sorta a cosplay XD anyway the first time I cosplayed I was my OC Tiger at Comicon, and that was about two years old, my current cosplay for Comicon this year is Red from firered Leafgreen and I was that for a gaming expo last year in August.

you can always go the safe route and make a onesie. how ever that is spelled. of couse that would be easiest if you keep its flames out. :P

True, I've got a yellow jacket for a start of it, and I was planning on finding a fire patterned backpack so when the bag is on the flames are on and when it's off I don't have the flames on.

Anyone going to Animazement?
I'll be cosplaying as Jr. from Xenosaga, and Bakura from Yugioh (obviously)

Through the woods a girl came sadly.
Something broken in her chest.
She had dared to love another.
Alas, no better than the rest.
Up my path the girl came gladly.
Something opened up my doors.
I longed to stop her bleeding heart.
And so I called her to my shores.
Those you trust will hurt you badly.
Something now I'm sure you see.
So drown your tears in me my dear.
As you drown, my dear, in me.

SakuraCon is also where I started cosplaying! My first cosplay was Gym Leader Elesa... that was probably 5 years ago. Now I want to completely redo that cosplay, because 5 years later I see a lot of ways that I could make it better! Although walking around in her shoes all day is not fun at all. I learned my lesson after that first year about cosplaying characters that wear high heels.

This year I cosplayed as Kylo Ren from Star Wars. Definitely the cosplay I've had the most fun with so far. I mean... we crashed Saturday night's rave with our lightsabers, which was awesome haha. I was with a group of other Kylos (I'm the short one), a General Hux, and a Rey, and it was really a good time.

@PkmnTrainerTiger: Your Cyndaquil cosplay sounds cool! It's definitely tough to figure out how to make some of the Pokemon into a cosplay. The only one I've ever attempted was Plusle, and I ended up taking the easy route and just making a hoodie for it. The Pokemon meetup is always so crazy at SakuraCon... this one is from two years ago I think, and it doesn't even include the human Pokemon character cosplays. There's always so many Pokemon cosplays, and I love seeing the different ways that people bring Pokemon to life. o:

Anyway, sorry for the super long post. :')

Its posts like that that i wanted when i made this topic!

This was the only cosplay i did: Gaara with my girlfriend and roommate. that was this year

Next year i plan on making that characters other form. Which should be cool, but i have to learn to use latex for that mask. but thats what its all about! skill building!

I found that the part i like about cosplaying is people wanting my picture. when you put so much time into an outfit and then people compliment your work it feels so good!

Side note: that onix and gyrados in your picture is amazing! and your pulse was pretty cute too :P

All of ya'll cosplays sound so cool!! xD

I started cosplaying roughly 4 years ago at a comic-con going as Gary Oak while a few friends came as other characters from the anime and I've been hooked since! ^^
Last convention I didn't have that much time do to holidays and everything so I just went as a Vault Dweller from Fallout - hoping to get a really good cosplay put in place before some of the other conventions in the UK later this year!

I love to diy props and all that - when you recreate something from a fandom, whether it be anime, video game, film, tv series, etc, bringing it to life is amazing! c:

I started cosplaying only a few months ago, and I was a human TARDIS. It was quite pathetic, since it was a TARDIS dress, socks, hair bow, necklace, and shoes. I did get compliments and pictures, though, which honestly made me feel good about it.
Heres a fangirly picture of the cosplay
Eeeh....

I've always wanted to cosplay, but my family would probably make fun of me for it, and I don't have any money to buy costumes. I've also never been to a con, sadly. Hopefully when I live on my own, I can try cosplaying. I'd like to cosplay as Reshiram since it it's my favorite Pokémon, and Alucard, the character I'm named after on here, since he's my favorite anime character.

I'm sure you could make those costumes when you have the money, and if anyone laughs at you for them. Ignore it because their thoughts about you won't matter as much as what you think of yourself. The first time I cosplayed I was a character I made up, I went as the same character for my trip to Pokecon. Back in January of 2015.
