I wanted to just suggest this because I've used this system on another site, and it works quite well. What happens is you type out a PM and then select all the users that you want to send it to. Like for example, if you were doing a shiny mega hunt and you had extra shinys / megas that you wanted to sell, people could 'sign up' for your mailing list to be notified when you had those pokemon available for sale. I'm not sure how popular this idea will be but I just wanted to suggest something :)
