Raven stepped away from him, pulling his backpack out of the tree's shadows and slinging over his shoulders. He wiped his blades with a handkerchief and stuffed them away, looking at the hybrid with the same violent eyes as before. He huffed and readjusted his beanie, retreating to Adriane's side. His tail and forearm morphed back into their human form swiftly, just enough to only see a flash of muscle during the transformation.

the fire dragon hybrid fell to his hand's and knee's and rubbed his throat, growling loudly at them as he glared.
he collected up his things and scrambled off, his tail catching both of they're leg's as they went tumbling over each other after being tripped.
Adriane's eye's widened a bit at the sudden impact that hit her leg's and yelped quietly.

Raven, on the other hand, had learned to only let his guard down when he was at least two miles away from the battlefield. He had apparated to the ground in front of Adriane and caught awkwardly by the waist as she fell, waiting until she was upright and completely balanced before he stepped back to her side. "You're okay?" He asked, a bit guilty that the fire dragon had managed to leave a mark on her before he intervened. Raven had, admittedly, hesitated when he stepped closer to Adriane--it was only until he had tried to force his hand on her that all of his hesitation was wiped. I'd best work on that, he thought, walking beside her.

Adriane clung to his arm a bit as she walked, limping slightly.
''sorta... i think he managed to crack something in my leg with that clubbed tail of his....'' she mumbled, gritting her teeth slightly.
she remained quiet for a moment before she hugged his arm and trembled, staring at the ground as tear's began to trickle down her face.
''and... t-thank you... for.. saving me from him.....'' she muttered, her voice shaky.

"But you can heal yourself, right?" He looked over at her and blinked sharply, but his face was still somber. "I don't understand why you're crying. Are you... are you sad?" Raven slowed his pace so that she could keep up to him easily while limping and eventually stopped altogether in a mix of confusion and concern.

''i-i can't heal myself, only another nature dragon could... we can't heal ourselves, we can only heal other's.... and i don't know why i'm crying.... maybe it's a mix of pain and relief..? i just.... didn't think that'd happen....'' she muttered, sniffling as she rubbed her eye's.
Adriane leaned against him and lightly gripped a handful of his shirt, burying her face into his chest as she slowly began to cry.

Raven's mind spun and his first instinct was to pull away and run. Instead, he forced himself still and inhaled sharply. He thought of a woman and her child that he had once encountered in a marketplace and how the woman had comforted her child when he had seen Raven's piercing crimson stare and, very stiffly, looked at Adriane. "There, there," he said, stiffly patting her head (although it was more of a bop than a pat) twice.

she sniffled and laughed a bit as she tried to calm down, coughing a bit.
''i-i'm.. sorry..... your probably not used to contact with.. other dragon hybrids... your really stiff..'' Adriane muttered, she crying a bit but not as much.

"It's... alright," Raven said, a lingering hesitation in his voice, "It's all alright." He paused, noticing how she was still clinging to him but relaxing a bit in her embrace. "I don't... he's not going to come back. Promise. I'll kil--fight him again if he does." Raven looked down at her--not quite sure what to think--and sunk into silence.

she shook her head and rubbed one of her eye's with her free hand.
''kill him if you must.... would rather be gone then try to get revenge.. just don't go after him, he's already gone........ i just don't want to be left alone....'' Adriane mumbled, sniffling a little.

Raven stopped as if she were leading him into a trap. He pulled back a bit and took a silent, long look at her face as if to double-check that she was being sincere. He blinked rapidly when he realized that she was and half-decided that it would be better on her part if he didn't end up killing the fire dragon if their paths crossed again. He wondered, for a moment, if Adriane would feel guilty--she was terribly kind, after all--and concluded that she probably would. But it is better for her safety in the long run, he reminded himself.
"You're not alone," Raven said bluntly as if it were an obvious statement. He paused, regretted it, and softened his tone a bit. "What I mean is you're safe, Adriane. And you certainly won't be left alone if you don't want to. You've got all of us now, don't you? And I doubt he'd care enough about you to come back. Certainly doesn't respect you enough."

''he is probably some other unlucky nature dragon's client anyway.... but.. i really appreciate you saving me... you went out of your way to do that..... so to repay you, i'll give you a simple blessing a light dragon or light dragon hybrid would give..'' she murmured, reaching up as she lightly pulled his head down and whispered something in draconic language before she gently pecked him on the forehead.
soon a flash of warmth swiftly ran over him and his mind was cleared of any negative thought's that was fed to him by his kind's god and whatever other negative thought's that he had faded from his mind.
she went to step back away from him while letting him go, but for the moment she had forgotten her leg was hurt and fell back down onto her rump with a surprised squeak.
''ow.....'' she grumbled, rubbing her back a bit before she decided to check her leg over.

Raven gasped in surprise, clawing at his throat. His irises flitted rapidly, his scales flashing on his skin. His horns had pulled out of his head and he began to cough, falling to the ground on his knees. Blood poured out of his mouth and onto the grass, staining it a dark maroon. His ears began to ring and his head seemed to split apart, to which he clutched it and clenched his now-sharpened teeth.
"W-what... what did you do?... Where is the voice?..." He hissed through his clenched teeth once the coughing had stopped, covering a majority of his body and face with his wing. He was in his half-hybrid form and only his vermillion-colored eyes poked out, staring at her with more fear than violence. Raven trembled, not seeming to notice Adriane's pain.

she stared at him with wide eye's full of horror, tear's beginning to stream freely now.
Adriane slowly started to cry and stared at the ground, hugging her hand's to her chest.
''i-i'm sorry.....!!! i just.. wanted to free you from his horrid word's...!'' she sobbed, soon hugging herself where she sat, not even trying to move away from him.

Raven's mind swirled. The focused voice, the direct urge of the Shadowbringer was no longer there--he felt alone and his brain felt like empty dark squiggles. His god had been disconnected from him, yet his voice still lingered. It was but an imprint that had been left on him; his moral compass had been out of place from the beginning and he now realized that not all his problems had been solved. But the voice was gone and he felt everything his God had deemed as soft or vulnerable and useless all at once.
He pulled closer to her, wrapping his arms around her like she had done to him. "N-no, it's all good. Thank you," he mumbled, his words almost undecipherable under tears. He nestled his face into her shoulder hesitantly, crying uncontrollably.

she stiffened a bit before she relaxed and hugged him back, bringing her wing's out in her human form to wrap them around him, to try to help comfort him like a mother dragon with it's young.
Adriane just stayed quiet as her own tear's continued to trickle down her face and, despite the fact of what happened, was blushing a little bit as well.

Crystal was standing at the window staring out, watching for when Adriane and Raven were going to return while tapping her nails, which just happened to be her claw's, against the window frame.
''she's never gone this long when me or Matthew are with her...... where the hell are they..'' she growled.
Matthew was sitting in his recliner reading a book, a bit more calm then Crystal was.

Raven's first instinct was to pull away, but he decided that it was warmer in her arms so he didn't move. He hiccuped a bit, unable to stop crying. Raven tightened his grip a bit, although not enough to hurt her and huffed. His messy crying died down a bit, enough for him to choke out a few words. "I-i... How do I s-stop c-crying?" He mumbled.

"I doubt anything bad's happened... even so, she's perfectly safe with Raven," Adeline reassured, glancing over to the window.

Adriane lightly patted him on the back and started to hum a soft melody, hoping that would calm him down.

It was a bit longer before Raven calmed down, loosened his grip on Adriane, and wiped his sodden cheeks. He realized quickly that he had been frightened--something he hadn't felt too much before--by the sudden spell. When he was younger, he remembered tales of Death dragons that had died from trying to stop speaking to the Shadowbringer, and the thought alone brought shivers to his spine... I deserve it, but I don't want to die, he thought to himself, keeping close to Adriane so that she wouldn't have to walk on her injured leg. He coughed into his sleeve, once again ignoring the blood, and sighed.
"I'm... sorry about that," he said, clearing his throat in hopes to make his voice sound less dry, "We should get going. I don't want to worry Adeli--everyone." Raven straightened his beanie and looked out into the forest towards the cabin.

"Well, I can ensure you that his combat skills are nothing to distrust... he's rather protective, too," Adeline said, smiling politely. She said this not in a daring tone but a bright one, despite the sense of defense in her voice.
Allium perked up a bit, re-tying her ponytail and looking back at them. "I could go check on them if you want. I'm about to head out, anyway," she said, standing by the door with her bag in hand. She slung it over her shoulder.

''y-yeah.... and.. it's a-alright..... i'm usually back a bit sooner then i usually do.. since the past couple time's when Crystal and Matthew first came with me on separate occasions... the ex-client is scared of them both after the first encounter's, but i guess since he thought i was "alone" this time he could take advantage... anyway aside from that, i never did mention this to everyone beside's Matthew and Crystal.. but i'm also i guess a third of the light dragon species..? not good with how that work's.. but my father was actually a half breed hybrid, half nature, half light.. i just didn't think it was important to mention, especially... with you.. since your the opposite species element from light...... i didn't want you to hate or fear me, cause i can tell your a really sweet guy Raven, and you've been a very respectful guest in my home and i find that very nice and you saving me also showed how kind you are, whether you were a different dragon species or not.. it shows that even a death or darkness dragon can be kind and caring'' Adriane said, looking up at him as she smiled a little.

Crystal glanced over at Allium but the glow in her eye's remained.
''you wouldn't even know where the meeting point would be, plus you'd end up lost like some impudent hatchling who lost it's mother'' she said quite bitterly, though unintentionally.
Matthew was soon up and had sat his book down in one swift motion, then weaved around furniture before he stood somewhat between the two of them and growled, glaring at Crystal as he bared his teeth.
''watch your tone Crystal, you never did learn the last time you used a tone like that'' he hissed.
she glared at him and simply curled a part of her lip to show off her own sharp teeth, which had become like that due to her being more on edge and defensive since Matthew was now standing there.
