The Pokédex beeped again, four times in quick succession. This probably meant that Skarmory was at very, VERY low health, as it hadn't even done so when Piplup was low on HP in another battle.

Skarmory was hit by the attack and fainted. "Skarmory, no!" Ferris yelped, returning his partner to the PokéBall to heal him after the match. "Piplup, go, and use Scald!"
