I think that there should be a notification for when a pokemon is on the honey tree

There's an Alarm Clock (in Misc. Settings) that you can set to remind you of the Honey Tree every x minutes (which you can pick out of the possible periods)

Getting a notification whenever there's a pokémon, would make the Honey Tree too easy, as it would remove the possibility of losing Honey to wild pokémon.
