''y-yeah just.... flash backs... when i'm out in the open i... feel vulnerable, which in turn makes me paranoid as hell....... i really don't like big open spaces, which is ironic in a way since Konani is claustrophobic and hates crowded places...'' Alexander mumbled, though loud enough for her to hear.
he opened his single working eye and looked over at her, tracing three finger's over the scar on his face.
''when i was with the military i was on a mission with a couple other soldiers, i still had full vision too, we were planning to scope out a new place for a campsite to train newbies in the forest when everything went south... we were attacked by the creature's that dwell there, and..... to put it simply, i am... the only survivor from that attack, but i was in terrible shape from the aftermath'' he said, a little shakily.

"Let's go inside, then," Anne said simply, pushing herself off the railing and landing soundlessly onto the deck. "This is probably the most open space we have on the ship, anyways." She lightly grazed her fingertips on his upper arm as she walked towards the door.

Alexander started to follow but stopped, turning and looked up into the sky with a somewhat emotionless expression, closing his eye as he felt a breeze drift through and whispered something, then turned once his eye opened and followed after Anne once more.

inside Konani was sitting on the floor trying to hide his face, which was beet red for a currently unknown reason, with his hands.

Magnolia grunted and shifted a little bit on the bed in the corner, her eyes fluttering open as she slowly placed a hand on the side of her head, glancing around groggily while her vision cleared up.
once her vision cleared up she recognized the room and it's layout and her eyes widened, the last thing she remembered flashing into her mind before everything went dark.

''Maggie....?'' came a drowsy voice, which caused her to jump a little and look over beside her before noticing a sleepy Kurai sitting beside the bed.
Magnolia stared at him and tears started welling up in her eye's, soon scooting over to hug him before she started sobbing.
Kurai was a little startled but hugged her back, holding her close as he sat there and looked over at Lucius.
''could you find Wither....? isn't hard to miss, long silver-ish white hair, golden eyes, has a black fox demon companion that emits a soft glow'' he asked, which earned a thumbs up from Lucius from where he sat before he got up and headed out with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

Anne looked over her shoulder and made sure that she walked next to Alexander this time, mostly to ensure his safety, as they went through the operating rooms. Her eyes flicked over her surroundings, taking details in with utmost carefulness but having nothing to do with the information as she knew nothing about airships. Anne figured she'd have to get some pilots to teach her around when they moved.
She strolled along with Alexander whilst looking for the most tightly compacted space she could find, only stopping when she saw Konani's hunched figure on the ground before her. She rushed forward and kneeled next to him, cocking her head and trying to get a look at his face. "Are you alright?" She asked, worried and preparing herself for the worst.

Wither had, at this point, managed to shut off the alarms, reassure the public, and dispose of the corpse. Reassuring the public did mean making several announcements over the speakers and sitting through an unbearably long meeting, but she had managed to dodge enough questions and spew enough empty statements about "safety protocols" and "small mishaps" that Magnolia was completely under the radar. Apologizing and explaining the situation to the victim's family had been stressful, but she had convinced them to keep their mouths shut and the job was done from there.
"Alright, Void~" she called as she strolled through the winding hallways of the base. "Now all we have to do is a bit of paperwork and we'll be done."

Konani jumped and looked at Anne with wide eyes, his entire face a bright beet red.
''i-i'm f-f-fine A-Anne'' he stammered, obviously flustered over something that happened after she had stepped out onto the deck.
Alexander walked up and laughed a little bit, finally starting to relax now that he wasn't out in the open anymore.
''are you still worked up about the way i kissed you after she stepped outside Starlight?'' he asked teasingly, which gain a rather nasty look from Konani before he got up and walked over to Alex.
Konani soon started hitting Alexander in the chest and began yelling a long string of curse word's in angelic, though it didn't faze Alex much since he was laughing again and had his arm's wrapped around Konani.

there was a soft tapping sound of paws that grew louder behind Wither before the sound vanished and a large orange fluffy maine coon jumped up and landed onto her shoulder, balancing with ease before sitting on her shoulder like a furry parrot.
''are you Wither?'' the tomcat asked, head tilted at her.

Anne pursed her lips and awkwardly wandered a couple of feet away, strolling up to one of the control panels and brushing her fingers across it. There were far too many buttons and switches--she hated not knowing what any of them did--and only one label that simply read "General" in demonic. She walked the other direction and began to snoop through the file cabinets, idly whistling a soft tune.
"Oh~ I found a list of government-run airship repair stations," she said, calling out to the other two. "It'll probably be a good lead on some of the more recent bases... wait, do either of you work in the rebel army?"

"Oi! Excuse me, sir, that's my perching spot!" Void cried, his ears pushed against his head in annoyance at the sudden stranger--although he wasn't sure if Wither knew him or not.
Wither sighed and rolled her eyes, looking over at the cat with exasperation in her voice. "Listen, I apologize about the inconvenience, but I can assure you that the alarms were set under important precautions for a matter that is now resolved."

the boys looked over a little bit after Konani stopped fussing and broke from they're embrace before walking over to look over what Anne found.
''i don't but i know Alex does'' Konani said, using the shorter version of Alexander's name.
Alexander nodded and crossed his arms.
''even with my handicap i can still fire arrows with a hundred percent accuracy, so i help out when they need an archer'' he said.

Lucius sent Void a glare that basically told him to shut up before the tomcat leaped ahead of Wither and Void while doing a backflip, soon shifting and landed standing in his human form.
his tail swayed and he turned towards them while adjusting his glasses.
''that "inconvenience" involving your girlfriend Magnolia Toxin...?'' he asked in a quiet voice due to the fact they were still out in the hallway.

"Ooh, a fighter," Anne remarked softly, tapping her chin with interest. "I sort of assumed you were a strategist for some reason. You have that..." She waved her hand in circles at Alexander, "sorta intellectual, deep-in-thought vibe that they all seem to have." She smiled at him and folded up the list neatly.

Wither narrowed her eyes and Void pressed against her, his lip curled back to reveal a sharp-toothed snarl. The demon was less visibly revealing with her emotions; she held her parasol in front of her and her tone seemed to be calmer, but cold. "I'm afraid my personal life has nothing to your concern, stranger," she replied, tapping the points of her long fingernails on the parasol's handle.
"Allow me to repeat myself: you are completely safe in the camp," she raised an eyebrow, "but if you hold any hostility towards Ms. Toxin that won't be the case, by my own authority." The underlying tone of threat began to seep through to her voice and her gaze grew darker by the moment.

he chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.
''i guess you could say i do both....? i'm usually the one leading the other archers in a way when the other guy isn't there'' Alexander admitted.
Konani huffed and a slight growling rumble came from him, ears pinned back and an annoyed expression as he glanced up at Alexander.
''i hate the actual archer strategist's guts.... the dude obviously feels the same about me, but towards you he's all sweet and flirty.. he's also painfully obvious with his flirting which makes it just downright pathetic......'' he grumbled.
Alex simply side and gave Konani a side glance before looking back at Anne.
''anyway.... lets see if we can get back inside the base, i don't hear the alarms anymore'' he said.

Lucius simply stared at her almost emotionless, but with one ear pinned back and his tail flicking around in a cats commonly irritated manner, it was obvious he was rather annoyed at her and Void.
''either you both are really f---ing dense, or Magnolia never got the chance to properly explain who i was exactly since she was probably going all "demon military secret weapon" on a poor angel who was dumb enough to use they're magic'' he growled, baring his teeth slightly to show rather pointy canines.
he sighed and rubbed his temple, pinning both ears back and his tail lightly twitching.
''god please ignore my insults, i'm sill recovering myself after using so much of my magic just to heal her... i'm not usually rude like this..... anyways... do you want to come check up on her or not....?'' he asked.

Anne blinked and rubbed the back of her neck, now sitting criss-cross on the nearest clean tabletop she could find. "Wither gave us the responsibility of protecting the airship... I'm sure it's fine if you two go, but at least one of us needs to carry through." She smiled and flicked her hand in a shooing motion.

"Open with that next time," Void hissed, his tail flicking sternly in a similar manner. Wither simply clenched her teeth tightly and nodded, her hostility dying down. Void opened his mouth to say something about needing to do the paperwork and Wither lightly nudged him with her foot to shut him up, prioritizing Magnolia without a second thought.

Alexander shrugged and decided to go find a cabin for him and Konani.
''i'm gonna go find us a cabin babe, keep Anne company'' he said before he disappeared.
Konani watched him leave and went to say something but blushed when Alexander called him babe, which shut him up rather easily.

''then follow me, it's a bit of a walk'' he said, walking around them both before heading back to his room.

Anne looked over at Konani, his blush apparent, and cocked her head with interest. "How long have you two been together?" She asked, expecting him to confirm her theory that they were a relatively new couple. She rested her hands behind her back and let her legs dangle off of the edge of the table, swinging them slightly.

Void and Wither conversed softly as they trailed behind Lucius; neither of them trusted him quite yet, but Wither tried her best to look through it with Magnolia's best interest. "You're quite the busy demon, Wither," Void commented, to which Wither smiled.
"It's not always... quite like this, I promise. It'll be more chill tomorrow, and you can always just cocoon in my room in the future if you want to." She looked down at him and thought about her words, realizing how quickly she had just accepted Void into her life. It had been a day--an eventful one, at that--and she hardly knew anything about his past.
Lucius stopped and Wither's mind went back to Magnolia, waiting for him to open the door.

Konani's ear's perked up and he looked over at Anne, the blush fading while he rubbed the side of his neck.
''well, lets see.... hmm... it took a while for him to warm up to me when i found him, assuming he told you a little bit about his past, and i took him to where my small little one person cabin was before we joined the rebellion'' he said, looking away as he thought for a minute.
he fell silent as he racked his brain, pinning one of his ear's back before looking back over at her.
''he was in terrible shape... he was a bit skinnier when i found him, probably the military's protocol, and i was surprised he was still even alive.... i patched him up, cleaned his wounds, and kept an eye on him for a while after i got him in a more stable condition... and this was way before i became his companion, cause he was rather wary of me since i'm an angelic companion'' he said.

''it.... took a really long time for him to even start talking to me, but he eventually came around to it after about about two or three months when he started exploring the cabin and had questions for me... like "who are you...?" and "how did you even find me....?" questions and i answered them all truthfully'' Konani said after a bit of a pause.
he soon sat down beside her and pulled one of his legs up, hugging it and curling his tail around to rest in his lap.
''we grew close after he finally warmed up to me, he was surprised that an angelic companion like me was so nice to have taken him in and keep him from dying... anyway, soon i became his companion and after some time we joined the rebellion, and after about a day or two he asked if i wanted to be his boyfriend, and i said yes~ so we've been friends for about... it was when he was around twenty one and i was nineteen, and we got together a couple days after joining the rebellion, meaning we've been together for about two years now'' he said finally, blushing faintly as the memory fluttered through his mind and smiled a little.

Lucius sighed as he opened the door and stepped inside, though when he spotted Kurai sitting on the bed while holding a old compress to Magnolia's head and a trashcan nearby, he ran over and checked the trashcan, then looked up at him with his ear's pinned back.
''what happened while i was gone Kurai?'' he asked, calling him by the name Dark wanted to be called by now, and gained a rather sheepish look from Kurai.

''i-i simply fixed her some soup, figuring she'd be hungry but she couldn't stomach it, she started vomiting but it was mostly blood and i think some of her own venom, once she stopped she was running a fever so i got a cold rag and had her lay back down'' Kurai explained, which earned a few demonic curses from Lucius as he dragged the trashcan over to his equipment to start running some tests, much to his dismay.

(the life of a doctor is not a fun one... lol)

"Oh. You just... seem like a new couple. With all the fluster and whatnot," she commented, speaking her mind. "How's the rebellion treating you? I know it's... a bit of a rough life for some."

Wither sat on the bed next to Kurai, looking down with worry. Void settled next to her feet. "Has she said anything?" She mumbled softly, her eyebrows knitted with worry.

''when we're alone i usually do some flirts and stuff back, but whenever there is someone else around that confidence goes flying out the window. but the rebellion has been treating us well, especially with Alexander's rank.... like, have you seen the size of our room? it's awesome'' he said, laughing a little bit at the last part.

Kurai looked at Wither and shook his head.
''she has mostly only cried after she woke up, i had just recently gotten her to calm down enough to see if she'd be able to eat, but you probably heard about what happened when tried to give her soup...'' he muttered, looking back at Magnolia worriedly.

"Oh, yes, it's quite nice. Especially with the two-person advantage--did you know that some people get roommates just to have a bigger room? I don't think it's quite worth it myself, but," Anne shrugged. "I think that even the smallest rooms are quite cozy. The rebellion is truly nice to us, it really is a shame that we've had so many mishaps just in the past month."

Knowing that she was in mental pain made Wither even more worried. She only nodded at Kurai and sat, silently, looking at Magnolia's sleeping body with such a mix of emotions that it was hard to pinpoint what she was feeling. "How long has she been out?" She finally asked, softly, facing Kurai briefly before she looked over at Lucius to check what he was doing.

he shrugged and straightened a little.
''people can be a little greedy or don't want to be alone, for me and Alex it's more since we're a couple, that and the big room size kinda help's with my claustrophobia'' he admitted, then looked off while resting his cheek on his knee.
Konani yawned softly, his sharp canines glinting in the light, then looked back at Anne with a gleam of mischief in his silver eyes.
''has anyone caught your eye...?'' he asked out of curiosity.

Kurai got up and moved so Wither could take over caring for her and sighed, rubbing the back of his head and stuffing his free hand into his pocket.
''she hasn't been out for long.... i'm just worried for her now since she's been running a fever, the last time she went crazy like that she didn't run a fever, though i id stop her from attacking anyone back then.... what's changed this time?'' he muttered, asking the question more to himself.

Lucius had finished up getting what he needed, the trashcan off to the side with the bag tied off and was typing something up on his computer.
''it's probably got something to do with the fact she ended up consuming that angel's blood, and due to her venom it's caused a strange reaction since her venom has a demon based origin and it's supposed to kill literally anything.... her venom is like a diamondback rattle snakes venom only more potent than any venom known to us'' he said.
he went over to the the machinery he had resting on a counter with his work space and continued with the test's he was running.
''she was given the ability to control how her venom works, meaning she can give her victims an array of torture or simply paralyze someone, or she can instantly kill someone with just a single drop....she could even burn through solid steel locks if she wanted too with enough practice, which is why the military probably planned to have her on the lines as a secret weapon.....'' Lucius muttered.

Anne blinked sharply, taken aback by the question. "No," she replied in a heartbeat; upon realizing how blunt and firmly she said it, she decided to add context. "I'm not... mingling, as they say. I prefer it that way." She softly smiled at him as she thought about her own familiar.

Wither sat next to Magnolia and lightly put her hand on her head, biting the bottom of her lip with concern as she felt the heat. She brushed her hair in a sort of maternal way, her fingernails barely brushing through as to not accidentally wake her up. "Artificial venom. There were a few others, if I remember correctly," Wither chimed in. There was a pain in her eyes knowing that her father had a leading hand in the experiments--mostly with the testing, as he was more of a commander in the field--but she could hardly remember anything else.

''ah, sorry.... i like gossiping so i didn't mean anything rude from it'' Konani said, chuckling softly as he reached up and patted her head gently.
he stood up and stretched, flicking his tail a little bit.

Magnolia had been tense while she was asleep, but as if sensing Wither's presence after she brushed her hair back, and seemed to relax a little bit.
Kurai went back over and sat down on the floor, crossing his legs and resting his hands on the bed, keeping his eye's on his master like any canine would, but soon rested his head on the side of the bed and tried to rest his eye's, ears drooped and tail tucked tightly against his hip.
''nothing... has really gone right in the past few hours after returning..... everything has gone to sh--...'' he grumbled.

''that venom is reacting strangely to the angel's blood she consumed.....'' Lucius mumbled to himself.
he pulled on a book on a shelf with other books and soon there was a click, a wall next to him where there was an empty space turning and revealing more scientific looking equipment, which he then went over with the sample he had and started running more test's.
at least she got everything out of her stomach, she should get better soon Lucius thought.

"It didn't come off that way," Anne replied, her nose crinkling instinctively from being pat (it reminded her vaguely of her twin brother, who had always acted as if he was older).
"I guess I like gossip, too. It's interesting to just hear about people and their lives in the camp, even if it's the most basic of things."

"It'll all calm down tomorrow," Wither reassured when she caught Kurai's words. "The... political debating or whatever to convince Tony is my job, after all. In all fairness, it was completely on me that you two went on the trip." She grew silent as something dawned on her. Sensing her unease, Void curled up in her lap.
"You don't think that had something to do with it? Just being around all of those military demons... we did, bluntly, murder quite a few."
