"James!" Aria yelled, grasping his hand. She pulled on his arm, but turned her head after hearing something behind her. About two feet behind her was a giant bat. She froze in fear, still holding James' arm.

Nova shot the bat behind Aria. It fell into a bloody heap a foot or so behind her. Nova nearly screams as one dives at her and scratches her face. She punches it and then shoots it, it falls into the armadillos below.

Aria was surprised by the boom, and lost her balance, falling down. She crawled over to the ladder and yelled at Nova. "Get up here!" She yelled, holding out her hand.
