Khaalida nods and smiles slightly. "Hopefully by tomorrow you can walk on it..." She looks out the window. "I don't know how much longer we'll be safe here..."
"Long enough, I hope." Riku stretches. His leg was stiff but didn't hurt as much anymore. "We're pretty far from the humans..." Vampires, not so sure. He thinks wearily.

Khaalida nods. "But you never know how many reinforcements they sent out, or if they sent any out at all." She sighs. Not to mention we have to look out for our own kind as well... She turns to Riku. "I'm going to go look at the upper levels of the building, and see if I can find a nicer room, perhaps with a better vantage point." She walks to the doorway. "Shout if you need something..." She says before walking out.
"Okay," Riku replies and watches Khaalida leave. He tapped his finger against the couch in boredom. "If only I could walk..." He mutters and closes his eyes, his tapping getting louder. He nods his head with the beat.

Khaalida ascended the flight of stairs and her nose was assaulted by the stench of rotting flesh. What is that?!? She turned around a corner at the top of the stairs and what she saw, made her gag. A room full of decaying corpses. Some animals, some humanoid, she couldn't tell if they were vampire or human anymore, not after the way they had been half eaten by scavengers. She turned away trying to control her stomach. But she lost it as a fly landed on her hand, she knew it had to have been on those bodies. She shambled down the stairs and fell to her knees just out of sight, but probably not out of hearing. Oh my god... Come on... Don't be sick again...
Riku opened his eyes, swearing he heard a distant thump. Probably my imagination... He thinks, staring at the direction Khaalida had went. I can't take my chances though. "Khaalida? "He calls out, hoping that she could hear him.

Khaalida manages to stand up, using the wall as a brace. "I'm... I'm fine Riku..." That's it... Take a deep breath... She breathes in and out slowly, savoring the dry, stale smell of the air. I'm not going upstairs again... She walks into the room, still using the wall for support.
Riku immediately stands, grunting during the process, to aid Khaalida. "What happened?" He asked, his voice full of concern. "Are you hurt?" Riku looks over her, not seeing any type if injury.

Khaalida shakes her head. "No, I'm not hurt... Just, not feeling good." She looks back to the stairs. "Whatever you do, do not go upstairs..." She groans as another wave of nausea shook her body and made her blood run cold.
Riku leads her to the coach, his eyebrows furrowed. "Why not?" Did she see something? He squeezes her shoulder in attempt to comfort her.

Khaalida dry heaves and bites her lip trying to contain it. "There is something... A pile of... Rotting bodies..." The thought of it makes her retch again.
"Whoa, whoa, easy now..." Riku mutters rubbing her back. A pile of bodies? Corpses then... He thinks. Why does it bother her so much? Most of Riku's life, he had witnessed many rotting bodies, the stench included. In fact, he hated to admit it but he actually liked the smell. It had always made him sadistically grin. Shaking his head, Riku gazed at Khaalida worriedly deciding that grinning right then was an inappropriate thing to do.

Khaalida takes several deep breaths then sits up straight, eyes closed. She then begins to chuckle. "A vampire who dislikes the smell of death... Isn't that absurd?" She sighs as any sign of happiness fades from her features. She stands up and walks, somewhat unsteadily to the window, trying to get slightly fresher air. "Back in the orphanage, I used to sneak out sometimes with a few other friends... One time, I woke up, and they had gone out... I went after them when they hadn't returned for a few days..." She stiffens her posture as though preparing for a blow. "I did end up finding them... They were all dead and rotting in a heap... Feral animals had pulled some of them apart and flies were having a feast... I guess that smell left a... Bad taste in my mouth since then..." She warps her arms around herself as if she was trying to comfort herself.
Riku blinked, slightly taken back by Khaalida's words. She never spoke about her past... He watched her hug herself, not knowing what to say. He decided against embracing her again though, remembering the incident from last night. I don't want her to be uncomfortable again... He thinks. "But you weren't born a vampire...it makes sense..." He says. "Unlike me, I'm more or less like one, even if I wasn't born that way." A small chuckle escapes his mouth without him meaning to. "Sometimes...I wish though, that I was born a vampire." I should stop... "So I wouldn't feel so guilty about sometimes actually...enjoying it."

Khaalida turns to Riku with a mixed look, full of disgust, confusion, and perhaps, a twinge of admiration? The expression fades and she sighs. "To each their own..." She comments half heartedly. He's at least content with who... What he is. I don't know what I am anymore... "Perhaps it would have been better if that hunter had killed me... He would have freed me from this prison without walls... Forced upon me by, worst of all, someone's pity..." She mutters, not realizing the last part of what she had thought she had spoken. She braces herself on the window sill as the last bit of nausea leaves her body.
Riku gritted his teeth and turned away, offended by the look Khaalida had given him. I should've stopped, she now probably thinks differently of me... The hurt was replaced with anger as soon he heard her mutter that she preferred to be killed which struck a nerve. "Dying isn't all great either!" He growls, digging his nails into his palm. "You make it seem like a prison and it really isn't. It all depends on the person. I managed to get past that, like I said before. It ain't easy but never did I think that death was the answer. Never." Riku clenches his hand tighter, not realizing that blood was trickling between his fingers.

Khaalida turned to him with an expression of anger as though she would throw either her words or something at him. It fades into one of regret and annoyance, most likely directed inwards. She sighs before standing erect. "As you said. It depends on the person. I deal with things differently and am effected by different things... Death may not be THE answer, but it is one. One I try to not think about... But it is all around us all the time, there's nothing we can do about that..." She walks over and sits in her chair. "I didn't mean to offend you by speaking my thoughts... I didn't mean to speak it out loud either..." She trails off as a tear rolls down her cheek, though she doesn't seem to care about it.
Riku scoffs and releases his grip; gazing at his hand with disgust and wipes off the blood on the couch. Even if Khaalida didn't mean to offend him, his blood was still boiling with anger. The topic of wanting to die bothered him considering that it reminded him about when he was still human. Riku glared at the ground, oblivious to his companion's tear.
