With these words, Hajila turned her head back to the window, where the warm dark spilled in. "We should go soon."
"Where would we go, Hajila? We don't have a plan." The sky outside began to grow a sickening grey, the large clouds towering over the town. "The mayor could sneak attack us. We could die." Her Spirit Animal was attempting to take over. "I would rather stay in hiding than be killed by that bastard if it meant we could get a chance," Ann growled. Wolf, stop! She yelled, twitching because of the rapid anger and refusing vibes going on in her body. The clouds suddenly cleared and the sky was once more a faded blue, her muscles relaxing. "Let's go," she muttered, standing up reluctantly.
"Right..." Hajila said. Her black fur bristled as she met with the shattered window she had climbed into. The darkness lifted as she looked out. The panther lay on the ground, blood dripping from its torn throat. Its claws were still extended, as if to kill the unlucky man who stumbled upon its dead body. She sighed and climbed out the window, hooking her claws into the grooves and nooks of the rotten old wood.
Ann stared at the horrifying sight of the corpse and its open throat, bewildered by how strong Hajila was as a Spirit Animaled. She hadn't had a chance to use her powers to the full extent, but either way she was better with spear or hand-to-hand combat. She pushed a long shard of broke glass off of the window's frame and leaped out of it, her hand being lightly cut. It stung, but Ann was able to simply wipe it off of her shirt and deal with the pain. Her other hand was placed against the rough surface of the canvas below her to keep her balance.
Hajila rolled her eyes, head in view of the annoyed Spirit Animaled. She's being a fool. Hajila snarled in her mind, to no one in particular, since Jaglar was resting from his assault on the panther. She's being selfish, I was trying to give her advice! Jaglar's weak voice, still somehow able to drip with sarcasm weakly wafted into her thoughts, This is what you get for being 'nice'.
Okay, fine. If Ann were going to hate her, she might as well be as rough as she could to harden her up. Hajila grew her claws out and tore the canvas below her in half, causing it come out from under both Spirit Animaled, which made them land heavily in a stall, landing on hard watermelons. Without even a carefree glance Ann's way, she hopped off the fruit and began to sprint at the highest speeds she could manage without Jaglar, towards the city walls.
My wifi has been a complete jerk and I don't go on PH that much any more because it takes so long to load, but I'll try to continue this >~<
Ann let out a rough hiss, the impact on hard-shelled watermelons sending a pang through her back. As a servant of the king, Ann did not have to deal with much pain. She picked herself up swiftly, the wolf inside her fighting to be released. And without even giving herself a second though, Ann let it. She sprinted at a high speed, catching up with Hajila and barely going ahead of her. Ann, growling under her breath, leaped from one side of a house to another, her teeth gritting as she finally found herself running on the ground again.
Wolf, Ann warned in her mind, the lust for blood blooming in her chest. The spirit of the wolf did not stop. Wolf! Ann snapped in her mind, the control the wolf had over her snapping like a twig. One day, you will give me full control, Ann. And with that, the wolf's words faded away. The Spirit Animaled, in the midsts of silence within her mind, ran as fast as she could without her full energy, and without the wolf. She glanced around for Hajila, not wanting to lose her newly-found partner.
Hajila gave an approving grin. She was yards away, but she put on a burst of speed, almost closing the gap. She has nice control over her animal, she thought, I wish I could do that
Jaglar hissed softly in her mind, but oddly, it wasn't with anger or annoyance. Jaglar approved what she was doing. That's a first, Hajila thought (thoughtfully. Hooray for repeated words!)
Truth be told, Jaglar had a complete mind of his own, preferring to wait things out rather than get involved. But when he wanted to engage, things could get ugly.
Hajila shook her head, as if to toss the thoughts aside and raced to catch up with her new partner, panting.
