"How does one kill an idea?" Jack muttered. "The Titans still exist. To live in the Void is to learn to resist their influence, to not listen to the voices in your head and ignore the shapes in the dark. The only thing that can kill a Titan is another Titan. An idea, so deeply embedded in the universe that if it were to be desteoyed it could change everything. They battle each other constantly but only rarely do they fall. There are instances, however. Relatively recently, the one representing humanity's conviction that it was the center of the universe was destroyed. And even then, it finds plenty of minds to live on in."

Sliuril winced. That didn't sound pleasant at all. But the Godsphere - where were the Titans, then? Did thay only exist in the void, or...

Sliuril scowled, and cast out her mind. Faith was once again over the ocean, feeding. Glaurug she couldn't feel - he was too far away. Elijah was nearby Naomi, who was sleeping.

Over the town of Aurora, the sun rose.

"I think it's time for us to go." She told Jack, "And she what's become of my sister."

There was no need to drag the others into this.

"Very well." Jack nodded. He thought over the events of the previous few days. The Crawler, the attack in the Shadelight Cavern, the assault on Aurora, the trip North, the injury of the King. Beneath his mask, he allowed himself a small smile.

He was ready for another round.

Sliuril grabbed both of them in her magic, before teleporting to a snow-covered mountain. They were perhaps three quarters of the way there - she was incapable of going straight to the top, because of the wards around the area. If they were lucky, Glaurug would still be digging out the pod.

She began going up the mountain.

Jack looked around, taking in the surroundings. It was cold, but nothing unbearable. He completed a full circle, nodded once to himself and then set off after Sliuril.

They reached the top of the mountain. Sometime along the way, Sliuril had conjured her winter cloak.

"Huh. Thought Glaurug would be here. Did he get lost?" Sliuril wondered, seeing the mountaintop bare. She had thought that Glaurug would have been trying to dig out Copper, since she was so obvious still inside. Her magic surrounded the pod, several meters in the ground, and pulled.

A cylindrical pod of mithril emerged from the ground, it's body covered.in dirt. She examined the pod for a few seconds.

"Cooper's still inside." Sliuril said, eventually. "Which is not supposed to be happening."

Jack circled around the pod, frowning. "Maybe he's still on his way?" He suggested but without any real enthusiasm. He felt the magic surrounding the pod. Then he looked around at the ground, searching for prints that might reveal anything.

Sliuril narrowed her eyes, doing a quick basic calculation. "No, he should have been here hours ago. I gave him a pretty generous margin, he should be freezing to death here by now."

She paused. "Unless he decided to betray Copper. That would be most unlike him, I should-"

Whatever Sliuril was about to say was cut off by a sudden hiss's of steam.

She tilted her head. "Well, it appears sister is still in the pod, after all."

A panel on the pod burst open, and a cyborg climbed out. Well, it was unfair to say she was a cyborg - she was an Ascendant, really, a god by any means. Sliuril preferred cyborg. It sounded cooler, because there were less cyborgs in the Godsphere than most people realized. She stayed frozen halfway outside the pod for a few seconds, decorative circuits along her body slowly beginning to glow orange.

Copper gasped, and filled her lungs for the first time in centuries.

"Glaurug's in trouble."

Jack threw his hands up in the air and walked away. "Of course he is. What else? I don't know why I bother making friends."

After a moment he circled back around. "How much trouble?" He asked. Then he became unsure of the proper way to address Copper. "Ma'am?" He hazarded.

"i don't see you addressing me with any formality." Sliuril huffed. "So mind telling me what Glaurug for himself into?"

"Oh, it's your fault, actually." Copper replied. "One of your creations is masquerading as me."

"....yeah, pin that on Halsey."

Copper laughed - thin, distorted and metallic. Like a robot had spoke into a fan, and was being recorded by a two dollar microphone.

"You haven't changed."

"And you haven't tried to kill us, so I think I'll take you back."

"Who is this, sister?" Copper asked, pointing to Jack. "He seems like us, if one considers apple and oranges alike."

Jack raised an eyebrow. "I don't see you addressing me by my full title." He shot back, a smile in his eyes. Then he turned back to Copper. "I am the Jack of Blades, Third of the Court of the Void. I am a..." He glanced at Sliuril and considered for a moment. "Acquaintance... of your sister. And I tank you for not trying to kill us." He paused and thought.

"Yes, that's about it. Anything you'd like to add?" He asked Sliuril.

"No, let's just go back and get this whole mess sorted out." Sliuril replied. She grabbed everyone present in a teleport, and soon they were once again in the Temple. To her surprise, it had been cleared of people. She glanced at the marketplace below - it was as if the past few days had never even happened.

"Princess! And, uh, Princess!" Elijah squeaked out.

Faith descended from the air, and into Cooper's arms. She hugged the dragon as tightly as she dared.

"I'm glad the two of you seem to be doing alright."

"Nah, I just sleep quicker than you."

Copper scowled. "Sliuril. Even we don't have an infinite number of lives. If you fall out of favour-" She paused. "No. It's your choice. Where's Glaurug?"

"Thought you knew?"

Copper shrugged. "All I can sense from him is North. Most of my magic is gone. Mom and dad must be mad at me."

"Hmph. I know that feeling." Jack muttered. He looked around. "North..." He thought. "I mean, it certainly depends on HOW North, but the Folly isn't really that well guarded. And, if one were determined, they could find the communication glyphs to talk to the Snowspire Oracle. And then, of course, beyond that lies the ruins of the Old Kingdom, but I see no point in going there. What do you think?" His automatic reaction was to turn to Sliuril, but he forced himself to address the question to both sisters.

Sliuril shrugged. "He could be anywhere at this point. I would say that he would also be in some form of civilization, too, since he would need to recover. Copper, you said he was with a fake. Do you know anything more specific. Also, give me my dragon back."

"Could be. I do not think the construct would survive thes extreme temperatures for any extended period of time. However, by North I meant this region of the world, not his position relative to us. That, I believe, would be south. Somewhere more... Stable. The construct if fragile. You do not make very good artificial intelligences." Copper gave Sliuril a half-lided stare. "It is a good thing you are our Light and not out Knowledge."

"Right. Village south-ish then.' Faith muttered. "Anyone has a map?"

"Do I look like I carry a map?" Jack asked, rolling his eyes. "We should ask the Priestess. Or maybe Naomi. I'm fairly sure that Order was very keen on keeping those maps pretty up to date. It's an unhealthy obsession of their's." He suggested.

"She's still sleeping. But I'll see if I can find the Priestess." Elijah said. "Uh, with your leave, Princess?"

"Dimissed." Copper answered, before realizing he was probably talking to Sliuril. "Hey, do you think any of my armies are still active?"

"I took great pleasure in burning most of them." Faith answered. "But the Balvarine Temple is in somewhat good shape."

"Didn't we let the Balvarines in?" Sliuril asked.

"Oh yeah, that happened. Maybe Light's End?"

"Quake of 94."

"Shadowvale?"

"Sank to the bottom of the ocean, also Quake of 94."

"Shadowvale it is." Copper decided.

"How many standing armies do- did- you maintain?" Jack asked, curious. He felt that he should have heard about them, but, other than the Balvarine Temple, he couldn't recall hearing any of the things mentioned.

Copper thought about it for a moment. "I had sixteen bases, each with around six thousand to ten thousand personnel, with ten to fifteen percent being human. The rest would have been my forerunners or AIs."

"Ah." Jack nodded. "So, just out of curiousity, what exactly did you expect to be attacked by? And, point of clarification, YOUR Forerunners?" He asked, tilting his head.

Copper pointed to Sliuril, who mirrored her.

"Yeah, were kinda supposed to be killing each other right now, but the timeframe is pretty flexible." Copper shrugged. "And yeah, my forerunners. What, you think they just appeared out of nowhere? Those archeological ruins you - well not you- Order operatives call 'Forerunner Relics' were mostly mine, thank you very much."

(Copper is salty. I didn't intend for her to be salty but it happened. She is also the OG creator of the 'alien masterrace' so I guess she's got good reason to be salty.)
