"Giant eagles." the Didact looked at them for a second. Then he went back to his holo pad. "Give me something new." he muttered. He terminated the game. "Western border? That ought to be easy enough."

Skye raised an eyebrow at Galadriel, as the eagles bowed. "Since when were you their Lady or something? I thought Gwaihir was still the Wind Lord, but I don't see him here." She asked, confused. Galadriel didn't answer. She seemed lost in thought. She glanced at Yondu, who was walking up to one of them. "Do not aggravate the eagles, Yondu. They are deadly when angered." She warned, not even bothering to look at the man. She looked at one last eagle, who deposited a parcel at her feet. "Thank you." She said, speaking in Quenya. The eagle nodded and gave a small caw of pleasure. Galadriel picked up the parcel, as she turned to Didact. She tossed him a vial of crystal water.

"The potion inside is strong enough to pull even one of your kind from death's door, Didact. Use it well." Then she gave Daphila a strange necklace. "The necklace is laced with powerful charms. It will stop you from having more... unpleasant bursts of morphing." She gave Quill a dagger, though for what she did not say. She turned to Ateer and Cole, whom she scrutinized with her unfaltering gaze. "I know we have only met, but I have something for the both of you." She said, taking out a helmet for Ateer, and a pair of odd-looking gloves for Cole. "They will come in useful... in the future." She cryptically said. Galadriel once again took Nenya off and gave it to Skye. "It is yours now, Skye." She said, smiling in that strange way of hers.

(Wow, it would be so awkward if Didact dropped the vial.)

The Didact caught it and stored it in his pack. "Thank you." he said, bowing his head in respect. He wondered what the liquid in the vial was, but he wasn't gonna try it out until he needed it. He checked it was safely in his pack and clipped the pack to his armor.

(I nearly died laughing you jerk!)

Skye nodded her head and took Nenya, using it on her own finger. She immediately felt refreshed, as if she had just awoken from a good night's rest. She could see more things as well. In fact, Skye was certain her senses had been sharpened into those of an Elf, at the very least. Galdriel stepped back, as she said, "I will be waiting at the western border." and then vanished into thin air.

(I have that effect on people.)

The Didact called the Approach. It quickly came to the ground and slowed just before landing. The Didact boarded it, but paused to look at the others. "You flying, running or coming?" he asked.

(Jerk.)

"Neither, duh." Skye said, as she flapped her wings. "I have the two, remember? Besides, I've had enough being cooped up from our flight to Atlantis." She said, as she took flight with a flap of her wings, which simultaneously burst into flames. Many of the eagles approached the others, and offered the choice of a free ride.

(Right now, the feeling's mutual.)

"Fair enough." he said, getting to the control panel. "Get us to the western border of this rock." he said. "Aye, sir." The AI replied. The Didact sat down and watched the scene underneath the Approach via a view panel.

(*randomly assumes everyone is on an eagle or something*)

The eagles took flight, flying in a tight formation. Skye was nowhere in the sky. In fact, she was flying quite near to the ground, just above helpless bystanders and surprised witnesses, particularly a particular purple alicorn with magenta eyes. The eyes traced Skye's energy level. The alicorn took flight, remembering vividly the magical signature which had broken her shield. Whoever Skye was, the alicorn wanted to know.

(I don't feel like I need to comment on that.)

"Activate Active Camouflage. They might be used to weird things, but probably not not used to a giant black and orange ball flying through the sky." The Didact said. Wordlessly, the AI turned the Approach more or less invisible to onlookers.

A roar resonated through the city, as a sea serpent reared it's ugly head. Galadriel was already there waiting for it; she could see into the future, after all. Skye landed somewhere behind her, staring at the behemoth.

At that moment, the Approach landed nearby. The Didact jogged out, Incineration Cannon balanced on his shoulder. He saw the sea serpent and prepared to fire if it so much as twitched in their direction.

(This whole page is filled with our posts)

An eagle gave a sharp cry as it began to hover near the sea serpent, waiting for orders to engage the monster in combat. Skye clenched her fists, as a pair of fireballs formed. She was prepared to roast the sea serpent if need be.

(You're only just realizing this?)

"Err... now what?" asked the Didact. The sea serpent hadn't moved yet and he didn't want to make it unnecessarily aggressive. He had to resist the urge to blow it to high hell.

(Of course not)

The sea serpent didn't move. It didn't make much of a sound, either. It stood there, unmoving save for it's eyes, which looked everywhere.

"We can stand here all day or we can do something..." The Didact whispered to the others. The Approach started humming and vibrating. The Didact felt extremely uncomfortable.

The sea serpent lunged for one of the eagles, which immediately flew out of reach from it. The sea serpent roared in annoyance, when Skye suddenly hit it with a pair of well-placed fireballs.

The Didact fired five bolts, each which impacted up and down the serpent's body. His weapon started recharging. He stowed it away and started firing at the serpent with his Binary Rifle.

The body of the serpent fell and crashed to the water, dead. It's glassy no longer held any life in them. Many of the mutants began to cheer, and clap. The serpent had been terrorizing them for the past two weeks. It was one of the reasons they were on such a tight ration.

"That's it? That's the big challenge?" asked the Didact, surprised. He had expected more of a fight. He was bored out of his mind as it was.

"No, it is not. There is a school of these sea serpent waiting just outside the shore. They are planning to attack." Galadriel informed Didact. "Be careful what you wish for, Ur-Didact."
