"Scan complete." Said The AI. "On my HUD." Said the Didact. He read the data. "As I feared." He terminated the file. "This is the remains of a popped Flood Infection Form." Said the Didact. "Treaded on by the Apex. It seems my presence on Earth has aroused them from whatever slumber they were in. " the Didact looked hopelessly at the others. "What do you know about the Flood?" he asked.

"I wish I could help her, but really. I'm a 21 year old who can kill things without flinching. I'm not good at these things."

The Didact was momentarily distracted from the issue of presence of the Flood on the planet Earth. "What's up?" He asked. "With Galadriel, I mean? Something wrong?"

"Sure." The Didact lead Skye into the cryo bay of the ship. "What's wrong?" He asked once more. He wasn't really sure why he was concerned, but he was.

"It's Celeborn. A virus of some kind took him. I don't know what it is. It's been taking a lot of Elves recently, according to Gandalf. The first blow was when she learned Elrond was dead. He was, I assume, a good friend of hers. And now, Celeborn, her husband, is taken too. Imagine loving somebody, and having children, only to have your children taken from you because she was tortured. Imagine having a granddaughter and grandson who chose to remain mortal, even though you had grown attached to them, and then they died, leaving you with your spouse. Then imagine having your whole family ripped apart by war. How would you feel, Didact?"

They are tiny and delicate, but they overwhelm you with numbers. They have tentacles, and a penetrator. They access the spinal cord and take over. Carrier forms. They blow up and spew out infection forms. And combat and tank forms. Beings the infections take over. They overwhelm you, again, with numbers." He sighed.

Carloti shrugged her shoulders and followed the other two inside, might as well see this till then end. They as least seemed to know more then she about that creature back there. Against something like that safety was in numbers. Seeing Didact and Skye head of clearly for a private chat. She hovered awkwardly in the entrance at first before heading off the find the food mentioned earlier.

I really hope the new Mutant doesn't pick it up and activate it or something. Even with a Mutant’s increased resistance to disease, I don’t like the sound of anything that can kill something like you.”

"Sure." Skye said, shrugging. She followed Didact out of the freezing cryo bay, not wishing to step foot in the place ever again. Galadriel was still crying. Skye sat next to Galadriel. She searched for something to say. But in the end, she had nothing to say.

'Skye...?' Galariel asked, looking up. She was still teary-eyed, but at least she wasn't crying. Skye would have wrapped a wing around her if it wasn't for the fact that she had a splint around both of them.

"Yes?"
'I... I don't suppose you'll let me go back to Middle Earth?'
"I would. If I knew how to send you back."
'No... you don't get it. When I first tried to go back, I... I saw a dragon. It said you were the key to returning to Middle Earth, as we have bonded. It said that when a Mutant and one from another world care for each other enough... if they would let go, they could go back to their home world. The dragon then told me that my part wasn't done yet... that I had something to do here. I trusted it. It said nothing would happen to Elrond. To Celebron. To Gandalf. To anybody.'
"If you want to, you can go back now. It would be wrong to make you stay here when there are so many who need you out there."
'Are you sure? I might never be able to go back.'
"I'll be watching when I can, Galadriel."
'Thank you.' Galadriel said, as she closed her eyes. In a flash of light, she was gone. But a part of her remained. Nenya remained. Skye put the ring in her pocket.
"Until we meet again, Lady of Light." Skye whispered.

The Didact was at the controls. If he had noticed the flash, he had ignored it. "A human base not far from here has sent out a distress call. I'm afraid the Parasite approaches." He turned back to Skye. "You know this planet better than me. Where to next?" He asked. He turned back to look at the large red blob that signifies enemy motion stop, assume lay at the base where the attack was happening. "Statistics?" Asked the Didact. "Two fifty Infection forms, fifty combat forms, increasing and twenty carrier forms, increasing." replied the AI. The Didact sighed. "Where to next, indeed?" he muttered.

"I don't even know where we are, how the hell am I supposed to know where to go?" Skye deadpanned at Didact. "Anyway, if you really want to go somewhere, I suggest we go to Atlantis. Yes, that island exists. No, it's not under the ocean anymore. A bunch of mutants who specialize in water and stuff decided to raise it up again, and make it a sort of Mutant haven. I was actually headed there myself when I met Galadriel. I suppose we could go there, if you want to. They apparently also accept creatures and whatnot from other worlds, so if we go there, no biggie for you. I'd bet a lot they've seen worse." Skye explained. "Oddly enough though, I met Galadriel. Not that you'd care how we met. Anyways, I'll leave you choosing the course. But if you want to hit the Flood, I suggest you dump them in Grand Canyon and blow it up. Virtually nobody lives there nowadays. Only a bunch of stupid humans would miss it."

Carloti walked into what looked like some sort of control room where Didact and Skye where. She noticed that Galadriel was missing but chose not to comment. She yawned and stretched feeling a little sleeping after raiding the food. Perhaps she'd take a nap. Best find out where they where actually heading first. " So umm where are you guys heading now anyways?"

"You're wondering where Galadriel is." Skye commented, as her eyes widended. "Right.... I'm goung to ignore the fact that I probably just read somebody's mind..." She said, more to herself than anyone else. "Anyway, I don't know where we're going, as it's actually entirely up to Didact, but I suggested either Atlantis or... Try to get the flood destroyed. Again, it's up to Didact."

(Well, we went into a Forerunner base, killed the Apex again, found that the Flood, a type of mutant, fast, high jumping, zombies are on Earth and Galadriel has gone to Middle Earth. We are now going to Atlantis.)
