I think a spellchecker should be implemented into Pokeheroes.

Why this would be good:
I've seen that so many threads have low-quality posts and/or titles simply because of bad spelling. It irritates me to come across such threads/posts and I know that some of you out there do so too.

But Dakar, wouldn't this take too long to implement?
Not at all! I've seen some open-source spellcheckers online, and I believe they could be adapted to fit Pokeheroes quite easily.

What if we don't want to use it?
I was also thinking of a button (or a checkbox) that would turn the spellchecker on/off that could be under the Options menu with the 'Hide my signature for this post'. (Thanks to NepetuLeijon for suggesting this.)

What features do you have planned for it?
Well, asides from the normal features of a spellchecker, I think that the spellchecker should be automatically activated for long posts, as there are typos that simply going over may leave uncorrected.
Also, it would have to exclude words such as 'Pokeheroes' or 'Emera Town'.
Maybe a variant could be implemented into the feeds, as people sometimes complain about typos. It would also have a on/off button.

All questions and answers will go under here. Now tell me whether you like this suggestion or not.

Hm, I'm a bit on-the-fence with this suggestion, but I'm leaning towards support. This would definitely help people who don't want to risk installing something that might cause viruses, and helps people who don't know English too well or who are not good at spelling. I saw something like this on a forum website once, and I think it would be great for our forums.

The one I saw had a button above next to the 'post' button, and when you clicked it it would check for spelling and grammar mistakes. Something similar should be with PH, but it should be under the options menu we have that says 'hide my signature for this post'.

Yeah, I think that the on/off button should be with the 'Hide my signature for this post' checkbox. Easy to ignore, but easy to turn on, too.
Thanks for the idea!

It sounds okay to me as long as it won't be like Autocorrect on most phones! :3

Lol. If a phrase has an incorrect spelling, it will be underlined red. Just right click and click the right spelling.
Coding this would be long, and you can already technically do this ^ method explained above.

Quite a lot of computers have it, and it's quite uncommon to find one that doesn't. But that's just one thing. If people are not sure about a spelling.. just google it.
I don't see why spelling is such a big deal here. As long as it's understandable then it's fine. Really, you can't just blame people for not knowing how to correctly spell a word. :b

To continue on with what Toothie said - google chrome and firefox both spell check. And the only computers that don't do this with their version of internet explorer can still download chrome or update IE to the most current one that does spell check.......and as for safari, every MAC I've encountered has spell check built in.

Hmm, I didn't know that it had a spellchecking feature, as I use Google Chrome and it doesn't.

No, there isn't a 'Use this language to spellcheck' checkbox.
