"I... really like her. Like, a lot. I really want to court her, but
I think Lina needs more time to think about it. I don't want her to
hurry up, she is busy all the time, treating the patients in
hospital. She is a beautiful girl in the first place." Cassius
smiles as he said the truth about how Cassius really feels about
Evangelina.
"Think about it? Cassius, she's head over heels for you," Serafina
laughed. "While she might be busy with her patients, she is looking
for love. I think you should tell her."
"Sera, I tell her already I like her when we were in Charleston.
... But, I didn't tell her I REALLY love her." Cassius was paused
and shocked when Serafina said Evangelina was looking for her love
of her dreams.
"Wait, did you say, 'She is looking for love'? Did Lina never have
a boyfriend before?"
"Boyfriend?" Serafina laughed and had to wipe her eyes. "No,
Cassius, she hasn't. Lina says she hasn't found the right one yet.
She says she'll know him when she meets him. Cassius, I've never
seen Lina so happy."
"It means she is in love with you," Serafina explained. "Her whole
face lights up and she get's very excited. I've never seen her this
way. It's kind of funny."
Meanwhile, Evangelina stretched, waking up. She dressed and left
her room, noticing Cassius's door open. She set off to find him.
"I feel the same, too. I might get excited, when I see her face all
the time. I feel hyper. ... If I said to her that I really love
her, I would jump high, like I could reach the clouds, due to
excitement and happiness she gave to me. She is the only lady who
changes me. When I was in my hometown, I was a serious boy. But
now, I'm a new man, thanks to Lina. I know how to make peace,
because of her. I am not selfish anymore, because of her. And, I
brought happiness, because of her. She is a one-of-a-kind lady. If
I didn't meet Lina, this new version of me will never put it in my
history," said Cassius to Serafina.
"Lina tends to have that effect. She is so feisty and outgoing.
Most people who talk with her come away feeling persuaded to see
things from her point of view. I'm glad she helped you and you
helped her. But I don't think you were ever selfish. A truly
selfish person wouldn't have gone to check on her and given her
water. Thank you for helping bring her home," Serafina told
him.
Evangelina asked her mother and when she was told he was at the
stables, she set off.
"I was selfish that time, before I helped her. I don't want Lina to
suffer from thirst. ... No need to thank me, that's what I do now,
protect Lina at all costs, and sacrifice for Lina to prevent her
from death."
"Well, then it's a good thing you are both safe here. Just about
everyone here loves Lina. And if they don't care for her and want
to look out for her, well, they just haven't met her yet," Serafina
told him.
Evangelina opened the door to the stables and found Cassius and
Sera talking. She snuck up and put her hands in front of him and
asked who it was
"Well, only for 8 hours. Since you're asleep minutes ago, instead
of disturbing your sleep, I was trying to do chores here," said
Cassius to Evangelina.
