You've recently been chosen as a graduate of the Ranger Schools, though the transfers from Almia to the lesser known Johto campus have been rather odd. Whispers have reached your ears of a possible open conflict that originates with Team Rocket. It appears being abandoned so many years ago didn't mean much for whoever leads them now.

You were given the choice of a partner amongst the on hand Ranger trained Pokemon to begin your formal training. You were also granted the special privilege of taking one of your own Pokemon, if you had any before choosing to become a Ranger. And now, the news you've either hoped or dreaded: your teacher for the practical side of being a Ranger. Who is this teacher for the field tests?

Dimitrious Solven. The Ranger who had, initially, been among the founders of the Corp in the Johto region decades ago. Rumor states he's been retired, though some say they've seen him wandering about with his Pokemon and claiming he's just traveling; but his sightings tend to be where something has cropped up under the Ranger's radar, of course.

Do you have what it takes to be a Ranger in the field, to prove to such an outstanding figure within the Ranger Corp that you deserve to be here? Are you able to withstand the pressure of holding the title of Ranger, even when everything seems so very bleak with the coming storm? Your trials of learning as an agent in the field begin now.

Rules:
Basic rules apply, of course.

You are allowed, at max, two Pokemon to start with; one must be your beginning partner. The second is not required, but I will stress the below rules as well. *If you choose to have a second Pokemon, please keep in mind that, though it may be evolved, your character has not seen or worked with this Pokemon for the duration of their time in the Ranger Academy, meaning the bond you may or may not have with it prior may have changed.

For now, you are limited to one character. This may or may not change in the future.

No shiny Pokemon, no Legendary Pokemon. There are no exceptions to this, at all. You must also be a Ranger, you cannot be a Pokemon who is partnered with another player. This goes for both Pokemon, should your character have a second.

Available Ranger Pokemon will be listed below, these are those always open to become a Ranger's partner. If the Pokemon is not listed under this, it is not open as a Ranger's beginning partner. But Pokemon will obviously be able to be captured and tamed as the RP progresses. The list you will see below was chosen at random, and I will not add in other Pokemon.

You have just graduated from the academy, you are not established as a full Ranger. This means your Pokemon is/are not all powerful or fully evolved, you do not have access to every item known to the Pokemon world, etc, etc.

Having graduated means you are not 13-14 years old. You are young adults, so keep it realistic here. Ranger school is much like regular school, so you're around eighteen or nineteen. If you want your character to be a bit older, that's fine too; maybe they decided to join the Rangers older than the requirements are, or maybe they couldn't graduate for some outstanding reason or another. I will not accept a character who is younger than these guidelines, no exceptions.

I would prefer to keep this semi-lit and above; no one liners, no two liners, no three liners. We all need something to respond to, and only giving a few sentences on how your character feels doesn't work for anyone.

There are limited spaces for this, but I will be taking into consideration everyone who applies. Please put in as much time and detail as you want, and if you'd like to save a post because you don't think you'll finish your skeleton right away, go right ahead!

We will all assume that they had the Pokemon as part of their family growing up, and for the RP to progress as I'm hoping it will your family allowed you to take it with you after your initial graduation.

As a heads up, I'm playing Dimitrious, your characters teacher of a sort, so I won't be using a newly initiated Ranger. :) Any questions, feel free to ask here or via PMs and I'll be happy to answer.

Once I feel there are enough players, I will create a Private Thread and send a message to those who will participate with the link from there.

Description:
Dimitrious is average height and weight, he stands no taller than 5'11" and while he is getting on in years his muscles have yet to decline. His hair is naturally grey, and while he does trim it himself it isn't much different from when he was a child. He has a scar under his right eye, or where it would be rather, that sweeps cleanly down to his bottom lip, passing through both to give them a rather rough appearance. He wears a red bandana to cover up the disfigurement, but he is well known with or without thanks to the scar. His right eye is also mostly gone; he has the eye itself but a scar from a blade has blinded him and so he often leaves it covered up with bandages to avoid mishaps with vision. His remaining well eye is a deep forest green, and holds an intimidating glare most times. His clothing is all made up of mute, ruddy colors, to help him blend into his surroundings better. He has a belt that holds vials of various poisons on one side, along with a set of two smaller blades if need be, and then a small satchel to hold his pokeballs on the other hip.
Personality:
He's been told he can come across as cold and informal, and he'll tell you that's true. To those who have never interacted with him before he is meticulous, a perfectionist and often times viewed as bluntly rude. Dimitri says what's on his mind in the correct situation, he's always aware of his surroundings but he remains grounded with whoever he is speaking to or traveling with. He has a heavy, mountain-bred accent that can be difficult to understand if he starts talking a bit too fast, but he makes any orders or directions he gives as clear as a bell. He's a leader by nature, and always willing to lend a helping hand even if he doesn't particularly like the person. Due to his job, he's very calculating and can seem a bit distant but he's honestly only looking out for anyone he's with.

Description:
Keiran is the oldest child of a retired gym leader (father, Max Morgan) and a pokemon breeder specializing in feline types (mother, Amber Grant-Morgan). He stands just over six feet in height, tan with a lean but athletic build; posture is typically straight even when he is relaxed. Dark auburn hair is worn in a carefully messy style, medium length with longer bangs that fall around light grey eyes. There are small silver piercings in both ears. Keiran's clothing choices run to quiet colors such as dark or light greys, light browns and sage greens, usually in simple combinations of jeans, a long-sleeved shirt and a t-shirt layered over it. His pokeballs and items are kept on a wide leather belt slung low around his hips, or a smaller utility band placed at one thigh.
Personality:
An only child for most of his life, Keiran is quiet and confident, without the need for excessive chatter not the patience for it. His sense of humor is more sarcastic than most and he is more likely to snort than laugh out loud. Like his mother, he has a certain level of cunning that shapes the use of his intelligence, but his actions are not outright malicious; at worst, they could be called selfish or overly playful. If there was time for it during his schooling, he would pull light pranks on his fellow trainees, but was careful not to be caught. Despite this, he has a genuine passion for being a Ranger and protecting different regions and Pokemon from harm from Team Rocket or any other threat.

Note: Nero's egg hatched the same day Keiran was born; as a Purrloin, Nero was Keiran's constant companion and stayed with him after graduation. Nero's evolution is recent and, still new to his abilities, he is not overly powerful despite being in his second form.
Other:
Thanks to his upbringing, Keiran is very familiar with feline pokemon (Meowth, Persian, Glameow, Espurr, Meowstic etc) and has some level of affinity with them. He communicates well and can understand their moods and actions; however, as a result he doesn't get along with canine-types such as Growlithe or Houndour at all.

(OOC: I hope this is alright. While I have about 4 years of RP experience on other websites, I'm a little new to forums, so if I make a mistake please let me know. This is a very interesting story and I hope I can be a part of it.)

Looks perfect. Keiran sounds like he'd be a good Ranger, haha. Accepted. I've been in the RPing scene for over a decade on other sites myself, this is the first time I've ever done anything here as well. Thought I'd give it a go, so it's good to hear someone holds an interest!

Oh, please don't feel intimidated! :O You are more than welcome to post up a skeleton. I've had Dimitrious around for years, so I've spent a great deal tweaking him and such, hence his skeleton, lol.

Name: Stein

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Description:
He has dark brown hair and a chinstrap beard. He typically wear a suit jacket with a hoodie underneath which has a very wide hood, and this allows him to cast a show over his face when pulled up. Normally wears jeans, unless hot then will wear clothes for the weather. He prefers to wear his jacket even when in Ranger uniform. Standing at just over six foot when standing with good posture but tends to slouch and looks shorter than he is. He keeps his pokeballs on the inside of his jacket. Has tattoos on roght forearm of a sudowoodo and left arm of a tribal design based around a picture of Gengar. (Think Hawaiian tribal with fave of Gengar, not stupid curly q tribal.)

Personality: Stein is a very nice and humorous person, when you get to know him. He tends to shy away from people, very rarely joining conversations or hanging out with other Rangers from school as he was one of the older people, and didn't feel he had much in common with them. He had a bad string of luck a few years before deciding to join the Rangers. During this time his family tired to help him, but to no avail. Stein did things he wasn't proud of, not caring about his own life, he started hanging out with the wrong crowds and getting into nasty business. His brother was the one who finally got him to get out of they way of life begin to feel happy again. Though it was only after Stein was in his darkest place and about to lose everything.

Stein can be a fierce and loyal friend, but gaining his trust isn't easy. Having dealt with so many terrible people, he wasn't great at finding a genuine person. It also didn't help that being the one of the oldest people at the school made him more of an outsider than he wanted to feel. He tends to put off the bad boy vibe and has a very sarcastic attitude.

Pokemon:
Houndour [M] - His beginning Pokemon partner.
Pidgey [M] - A gift from his family, more importantly his brother whom trains and breeds Flying-types. (if shiny part is not allowed I can change)

Other: Having gotten through the Ranger school, was one step in the right direction, think of it as a boot camp for him. He was given an ultimatum by his brother, join the school or keep heading down the path that would bring him only sadness and regret. His dark past and attitude can creep up on him in the wrong moments, sometimes scaring people away.

He just wants to find happiness and not a life of crime.

Basically, yes. I really wanted to see if there were players who had experience and were interested. And I really didn't want to make it a public board since I've noticed it opens up the door to others who don't really mesh well with my own experience level... And I always tend to fall out of those eps because I get bored lol. Once two or three more people join then I think I'll get it going. I'll send a link to the main board once it's made.

I think we can handle it with two, so I'm game to start whenever you're ready. We can always give it a shot for a 'prologue' and then decide later to pull in more players if it feels like we should.

Think about it this way, people are always graduating. Like boot camps, more than one class at a time ha know. That's how I'd picture Ranger school. Maybe not but it could work.
