The Golett appeared to be standing motionless.
"This is ridiculous. The Golett are Automaton Pokémon, so they
don't need rest; they don't function in the same way that we do,"
Salamence said. "If we can't find a way to get around the Golett,
we're going to be caught when they check our cells."
"Whoever just did that," Salamence whispered, "apparently knows
absolutely nothing about this organization whatsoever."
Thanks to the energy granted by the leader of the organization,
Golett stood strong, but turned around to see the Pokémon behind
it.
Salamence made sure he was impossible to see, and tried to see who
had used the Shadow Ball. Obviously it wasn't him or Grovyle, but
would whoever did use it be immediately apparent to Golett, or
would it have to look around and end up discovering them anyway...?
He couldn't tell from behind the pillar.
Salamence wondered what was happening, but the Golett seemed even
more confused, unable to determine what was attacking it. It
attempted to look around the room, and Salamence wondered at the
stupidity of it all. We aren't EVEN the ones Golett is looking
for, yet we're the ones who are going to be found simply because
this Shadow Ball user doesn't feel like showing himself or
herself...
Salamence rolled his eyes. Now the voice just gave away that we
were here by literally talking to us. And it still doesn't realize
that Golett won't be defeated. Way to ruin our hiding spot.
"Thank you very much, Mismagius," Salamence said gratefully. Since
the Pokémon didn't seem to be able to read his mind (he hoped not,
anyway!), he did not feel the need to make his former thoughts
known.
"Grovyle," Salamence said, "I don't know exactly where we are, so
we may still be near their base. It would be best to keep moving.
You can ride on my back if you'd like."
"A chain is only as strong as its weakest link," Salamence said.
"If you ride me, it's no more of a hindrance than simply not
moving." E-er... That was supposed to be encouraging. I may have
phrased that in too negative a way...
