So I noticed PH has a lot of free space right about here:




So I thought, why not implement a live chatbox somewhere in that spot? Would be very useful for stuff like advertising as everyone on PH who's online can see what you say immediately and contact you. Let's say it would revive the HeroChat in a way since that place is empty most of the time. There could be different channels too, for example for chatquizzing and other minigames like hangman and what not.

Ofcourse there may be people who would try to exploit the chatbox for bad purposes but then again that will always be the case for pretty much any new feature and that's why there are moderators. People that don't like a chatbox could hide it in the settings.

Pretty controversial suggestion so please comment below if you think this is a good idea or if you think it shouldn't be implemented and let us know why, thanks :)

I personally think that adding more things will cause more lag, and I think I'm right. As long as you can already access the chat box by your own will, i don't really think this is needed.

I've also realized that PH is not displayed fully like that for people will smaller monitors. For example; this is how PH is displayed for me, so I wouldn't be able to see half of the chat box.

I have the same thing as Toothie. Also I think that that would be very very laggy, and my laptop isn't that fast...

I play the site at minimal size. (Either half-monitor, or on my phone) so adding something to the sides of the site would affect my gameplay.

And like Kevin, I play on a laptop, and it's not as powerful as I would like. I already have issues with the browsers lagging and crashing (to the point that I've had to disable flash so that it wouldn't keep crashing FF)

So adding something else that'll put a strain on my network and my browsers to the point that I would have a really laggy experience on here is not something I'm keen to deal with. And all I can imagine it being used for is spam. After all, it's real-time on every page of the site, which means if someone wanted to get a bunch of quick clicks on a pokemon, post a direct link once, get warned for it, but still get clicks anyway.

Or if there's a thread, they just throw a link to it, or whatever. I mean, the herochat didn't have this problem often, when it was really active, because only a few users would see it at a time, and if they were spamming, staff took care of it quickly. But a site-wide thing, it'd be harder to moderate, to keep organized, and prevent from ruining the experience for users who don't have all that free room while playing the site.

iam neutral abt this suggestion
reason: that is not a free space it is used for things like zoom we can zoom a page by 200% in google chrome i use it for 150% sometimes so iam neutral about it
reason 2:we have a 'hero chat already' for chatting and chat quiz
