Hello everyone, I just wanted to start this thread to make ppl realize their real life... Lets see what we r in to in our daily life

Are you an internet addict? Or a game addict or maybe a social site addict? Check the following points and if they fit for u then u might be the correct person reading the correct thread...

i) You Like to play and think over a game almost always...
ii) You like to come from outside... Specially from cities or schools.. Come home and quickly take some food and then start ur comp to start playing
iii) Dont like to play with friends like u did before or dont like to attend any invitations... Like to play on comp more
iv) You like to think about the game even while u r not playing... think about what u will do while studying etc.
v) You do not spend much time with ur family.. Ur parents ur brothers and sisters...

I will keep adding the newer points i get. Did u know? If u keep playing for ten hours for 6 days a week, Ur brain's shape will change? its very very harmful. Games are a medium of enjoyment, so why will you be controlled by it? Just go with ur regular timing.

If You r an addict and want to get relieved, Then Just make a routine and follow it for 2 months... Make the routine such that u do all works including playing at fields.. Studying, Doing other jobs, Excersicing, Drawing etc. And when u r done will all of them, just play for 2 hrs :) Its good for u. And yeah if u keep thinking about the game, then just listen to some melodious musics, They will really help ur brain be calm and develop soundly. If u like it or have questions, just post and subscribe cause it will keep getting new things. Feel free to post any of ur ideas as well and post if u r an addict and how many points work for u. Have a nice day c:

As much as I play on the computer (sun up to sun down) It's also my job to use it for my work. I literally have nothing else to do anyways. Still a good post though.

Yes Darkri, A good point. If u r working with it, Its really something positive and not a waste of time, But the brain's shape changing still occurs, so please be careful. heres a good point, Just note down before u go to sleep that for how many hrs u have played on comp and then sum up the total at the end of a week or month and just see how much time u wasted and what u could have done at that time ;)

Video game play may provide learning, health, social benefits, review finds
9 Ways Video Games Can Actually Be Good For You
Are There Benefits in Playing Video Games?
Positive Effects of Internet Addiction

Believe it or not, these mediums have positive influences on people and their brain. Yes their brains change but based on what I've seen and read, they're not negative changes. However feel free to give me actual proof that these things mess with the brain in a negative way.

People actually use video games and the internet as educational tools. Me included. Heck, even games like Zelda are useful educational tools. Why? Because you're problem solving. Not only are people having fun but they're learning something from it.Same could be said for the internet. You can literally find information about anything on there.

Really the only negative about both is the health risk. You gotta move around a little or else you get bloodclots. Other than that the effects aren't as negative as they're made out to be~

@Angell, Thanks for the post atfirst, Now to say, I can say hundred demerits and hundred merits of gaming. The main thing is, We get to learn from comp while it damages our health. As u know, Once health is gone, its gone for ever... But if u just read a few cultural books or books which u like, then wont it be better? I know comp has lots of benifits, I am experiancing some as well, My english fluency has increased a lot, My memorization capability increased, But i damaged my Eyes and m brain is so fast now that i drop some letters while writting something at school. I also have a little pain at my shoulders and its all because of this. Our brain has 2 components, One helps to keep us punctual and another makes us tired, Playing comp transforms the punctual ones to the tired ones and we go to feel tired and sometimes sleep... Hope u will agree as well :)

And also to add, I didnt mention that u shouldnt be playing, I am talking about addict, U can play for 2 hrs and u rnt addict, But Angell Do u support playing games for so long? Just play for 2 hrs and like darkri said, work with it, Its a positive effect

While books are useful. I myself cannot learn from them and retain information. I'm a visual learner with a low attention span. So basically I can't retain information with books and I don't have the attention span to watch a movie. So video games and the internet is literally the only thing I use to learn.

The only problem I have is eye problem. When they act up I quit and go to sleep or something.

I do have back pains but that's from school books(see negative to school books right there) and not from the internet because I have pretty good posture.

Yes my brain goes fast but that's never been a problem for me. In fact it's useful since I'm pretty impatient and things need to go fast for me. So yeah. In my case it's generally positive.

Hmm well I see an exception here... Well I am not gonna say anymore, Just read this joke :P

A guy said to his friend.. "Hey If u can make me understand that 2+2=4 then i will give u 4 crore $." His friend said "Wow thats really cool"... Another guy was sitting there, He was listening and came to the guy and told him that "What r u doing? U r trying to lose 4 crore $??" Then the guy said... "If i keep saying I dont undersnatnd... He will never make me... He will put up logic, I will say I dont understand that... 2+2=5, and he will never make me understand"

And also note.. Doctors say that 8% Of a human's weight can be brought by him/her. Ur back pains are because u have carried more weight than that. Its not the book's fault, Its the teacher's unconcern and please try to change ur books and get some good books so that u can learn :)

I have some of the symptoms, or whatever.

But.

I am still extremely close to my parents. They trust me to actually surf the internet and such to improve things, mostly my vocabulary. I've never had "friends" outside, due to the fact I've been homeschooled all my life. I've always been an unhealthy kid, so no surprises there.

When I think of things involving games, those are really, really rare. Most of the time I think of the stories on the net I'm reading, or spinning storylines for RPs I participate in. The only thing that pops into my mind daily while away from the computer would be my rumblers timing and return, lol. Even then, I don't focus too much on that.

I still think a lot about my dreams and worry about my studies (which are temporarily postponed, thus granting me a lot of free time.) Despite my internet "addiction", I am a book freak. I LOVE books, and there isn't a day I grow restless on the internet when I have no new books to read. Which is why I have to resort to reading fanfictions.

I don't usually obsess over games. These little obsessions quickly pass, and I return to my regular past times of RPing and reading. As for exercise and healthy eating and sleep, well:

I don't have time for exercise. My parents are full-time teachers with part-time teaching jobs on Saturdays. My only exercises are me being hyper and running 'round the house for whatever reason and running with my dad and the dog during nightly walks.

Sleep? Sleep doesn't come to me as normally as others. Even before we even had internet installed, I had problems with sleeping. Not insomnia, just...couldn't sleep. I thought too much, worried too much. I can only get to sleep when a( sleep deprived, b( extremely tired, c( after two-six hours of lying on the bed trying to fall asleep. The best I can do is tire myself out earlier in the day so I'l have an easier time sleeping. Sometimes I just deprive myself of sleep to enjoy the comfort of automatically passing out from exhaustion. (Sleep is the sweetest thing on earth to any tired man.)

Healthy eating? Hmm...I'll have to get back to you on that :P

Overall, this post might help other who are actually addicted, though ^^ As long as I have a pile of books, I can live without the internet for some time.

Sadly, I'm addicted. BUT I only play for a few hours on weekends, and don't play at all on weekdays. I'm gradually staying on for less time every weekend and trying to work it down to 1 hour a day.

I'm not an addict, I only have ten hours to play on the weekends and even then most of the time I just climb in bed and pass out xD
I'm very close the little real friends I have. (totaling six ._.), as well as my family and most of the time I get up to do some thing or what not.
I wear glasses, but I got them in kindergarten. Bad eyesight runs in my family.
I get back pain from the school chairs on rare occasions. They absolutely suck. But my gaming has nothing to do with that, as I have one of the best postures in my class and at home xD
and I'm an a-honor roll student. My gaming has nothing to do with that, either.
And half the time I'm thinking of READING A BOOK than my games honestly.

I wanted to say what Angell did (you make choices that influence the future, blah blah blah) but Oops, she did xD

Also, I play 100 hours or more monthly and I still have time for usual activities like sports and socializing (thing that I don't do much but :P)

Title: Game Addiction

I like to play but if I have a good book I will get off, and if I can play with friends.
I do play alot and I enjoy my homeschooling breaks too.

While I do have some of the symptoms listed above, I'm not addicted. Like Omnia, I love to read, and not having any new material whatsoever pushes me to come online to read fanfiction instead.

Besides, whenever I'm offline, I'm thinking of story ideas or studying, or even thinking up responses to RPs I'm in. I also tend to think of articles and essays to write.

I'm also very close to my family, although every single member of us is busy.

I also make time for exercise, and sleeping is not really a problem for me.

Nevertheless, it's nice of you to try to come up with this to help with others' addictions.
