''n-no, i'm not scared of you Fallow'' Maxwell said, sitting up and
looking at her.
he looked down and blushed faintly, fiddling with the blanket he
had.
''i-i'm just not used to sleeping in the same room with a girl, let
alone in the same bed...'' he muttered, rather embarrassed.
"O-oh," Fallow thought, only a little bit hurt, "that's alright, I
guess. Are you sure you don't want me to sleep on the floor?" She
asked although it was more of an insist than it was an offer.
he sighed again and hit himself in the head.
''i'm being an idiot.... ugh.. and no, no... i'm not letting you
sleep in the floor Fallow...'' Maxwell muttered.
he got up and picked the pillow up, putting it back on the bed
before he climbed onto the bed behind her and hesitated a little
before he put his arm around her and pulled her close, hugging her
from behind.
''if i upset you in anyway, i'm sorry.... you can just kick me out
of the bedroom if i did..'' Maxwell mumbled.
"You're a bit weird," Fallow murmured, taking his hand and wrapping
it in hers. She sunk her head into the softness of the pillow and
closed her eyes, saying nothing.
(bleh fine)
Robin awoke to the soft melodies of the birds that perched in the
nearby trees. He rose, slowly, to a slumped sitting position and
looked around the brittle room; it was distastefully dark and his
eyes refused to adjust. Robin had always worked better in the
light, but he refrained from turning the lamp on for Skye's sake.
Robin had found himself unable to get a good amount of sleep, even
though he had always been an early bird. He looked over his
shoulder at Skye, who had rolled over to take up the space of the
entire bed, and walked to the living room in hopes to find somebody
that was awake.
Alex had woken up a bit earlier then Robin had and was in the
kitchen making something for her to eat for breakfast and hummed to
herself.
she had also taken the shirt Draco had and was wearing it over her
new-ish black tank top that she had found, since it was a little
chilly and she didn't feel like looking for something else, but the
shirt almost swallowed her whole since it was a couple sizes bigger
then what she usually wear's.
"Good morning~" Robin greeted, softly so that he wouldn't wake
Marshall or Mavis. Fallow sat on one of the wooden bar stools, a
steaming hot glass of water enveloped in her hands. There was a
glassy look to her face as if she was miles away, and tired gray
bags under her eyes. She looked up at Robin and waved slightly,
offering a weak smile. Maxwell was nowhere near her.
"There's still some water left in the kettle if you want it," she
said softly. Robin muttered a quick thanks before taking her offer
and pouring a cup. It was still too hot to drink, so he sat down.
Venom groggily walked up the stairs and laid himself across Robin's
feet, still half-awake.
''morning Robin'' Alex said rather cheerfully, looking over her
shoulder at him.
she picked up the stuff she had laid out and was using to make her
breakfast and quickly put everything away, then grabbed the plate
on the counter and went over to sit with the other two.
''what happened to you Fallow....? you look like you hardly slept
at all'' she said.
Fallow only shrugged dismissively, "Not used to the beds too much."
Robin raised an eyebrow but said nothing. His eyes flicked to the
windows, where light spilled into the living room. He was a bit
surprised that Marshall and Mavis could sleep through the exposure,
but then again they were always of the last ones to wake.
"You sleep well?" He asked, putting a hand to the cup briefly and
turning to face Alex.
''truthfully it's nice to actually be in a bed again, and
surprisingly yeah, i did sleep pretty well'' Alex said, smiling as
she nibbled on what she had fixed for breakfast for herself, which
was a couple of peach preserves sandwich.
Robin nodded in agreement and Venom stood to walk up to Fallow,
nudging her dangling foot. She smiled and hoisted the beast up to
her lap, to which he purred contently. "Is Draco still asleep?" She
asked for confirmation.
''yeah, Draco is still upstairs snoring, i think he enjoys having a
bed to sleep in more then i do'' she said, snickering a bit.
she finished one of the sandwiches she made and offered the last
one to Fallow.
''want it?'' she said.
"Oh! If you don't want it, sure," Fallow said, perking up a
bit.
------
"Where's Jasper, anyway?" Dawn asked, looking around the empty
living room. Belle only shrugged, most of her focus on the cooking.
Dawn cupped a mug of coffee in her hands, looking towards the door.
"Should we go get him?"
Belle shook her head, "No. I doubt he's still here. He roams a bit
too much." She quickly pushed her ponytail behind her shoulder as
she arranged the eggs benedict on two plates. "I can whip up some
more if we need to," she said, looking towards the room that Justin
had slept in.
''it's fine really, go ahead'' Alex said, smiling brightly as she
scooted the plate over to her.
~~~~~
Justin unlocked the bedroom door and walked out, yawning a little
as he rubbed his eye's.
''what time is it......?'' he asked, going over and sat down next
to Dawn and leaned back.
"Thanks!" She said, her icy blue eyes sparkling a bit. Venom
escaped from her lap and trotted out of the back door, which made a
small rattle as it closed itself. Robin leaned on the counter.
-------
"It's only seven thirty... did we wake you up?" Dawn said,
gesturing towards the clock so that Justin knew where it was in the
future.
"Good morning regardless," Belle hummed, setting a plate in front
of Dawn and hesitating as she held one to Justin. "You good with
this? I can make something else if you'd like," she said patiently.
''it should help a bit with waking you up, it's naturally sweet
preserves, it's really good'' Alex said cheerfully.
~~~~~
Justin looked at the clock drowsily then looked at the plate Belle
was holding out to him before he took the plate.
''i'm not a picky eater.. it's fine....'' he mumbled, then started
to eat.
Mavis blinked a bit, the sunlight a bit shocking to her. The voices
from the kitchen had woken her up--not because they were loud.
Mavis had always been a light sleeper. She had to be, with all that
time she'd spent living in the forests. The hybrid Fantasy rubbed
the sleep from her eyes and popped onto her feet, refolding the
woolen blanket that she had slept with and setting it on the
armrest of the couch. Mavis took a quick look at Marshall, who
looked almost innocent in his sleepful bliss. She smiled a bit and,
with a silence that she had trained for years to obtain, crept over
to the kitchen counter. "Hi," she said in a softened voice.
-------
Belle happily tiptoed back to the kitchen, quickly cracking an egg
into a bowl and whisking it with a fork.
