Jorryn let out a sigh as he hefted the fifth and last empty suitcase onto the top shelf in his closet. He'd finally unpacked all of his clothing; something he should have done two weeks ago when he had moved, along with his mother and sister, to a savvy neighbourhood. Two weeks. It had taken him exactly two weeks to adjust to the emotions he had felt since he had arrived at this country. It had been painful at the airport. Feeling all the emotions of so many people had made him...something he hadn't done since the first year he had gained his savvy. Sometimes he couldn't help but wish he had gotten a simpler savvy like his sister who could manipulate plants. Lucky little thing.

With a final sigh and glance around his room, Jorryn left to join the rest of his family in the living room. He stood at the door staring at his mother, his sister and then his Aunt Persephone. An aunt he hadn't even known he had had until his mother had sat him and Jocelyn, his sister, down and told them that they had been invited to stay at a savvy neighbourhood. One thing he could say though, was that his aunt was absolutely fantastic. She was funny, smart and she had a bunch of rare and interesting items in her home. He would certainly have a blast exploring everything after he had himself completely sorted out. Now he needed to explore the neighbourhood to find a quiet spot where he could practice scumbling without interuption. With nod to his family and an explanation what he intended to do he left.

"Blix! Are you okay? You're bleeding!" Bastion exclaimed. He ran over to her, and tenderly examined her wings, which had spots of blood on it, especially near her back where the main bleeding had come from.

"I'll admit, I've never actually done first aid before, and I've got no idea how to revive an unconscious person. For now, let's get you some bandages. And I think we should get a hot towel or something to put on Rhine's forehead. Or maybe we need a cold one... I'm not sure, I just saw it in a movie." He studied Blix's wounds, trying to determine how much they would need ahead of time, before quickly pacing off to the cupboards to look for bandages.

Blix seemed okay for the most part, but he wasn't sure how much she had hurt herself. She did crash into a wall, after all.

"Hey, no, it's fine! These are just kind of like... emergency wings! They kinda pop out when I'm in danger or surprised or panicked or something. I've only mastered cat transformations so far, not birds, so they cause an actual physical transformation instead of a quick alteration, or, as I like to call them, shifts. But yeah, it's like actually growing a new limb. Hey, I think there's a machete in my bag, could ya get it for me? I need to numb my wings for a bit." Blix stood up and walked into the kitchen, running some cold water in the sink. She pulled off her shirt, exposing her now feather covered torso. Blix shivered as she stuck the bases or her wings under the frigid water, but it did the trick. She relaxed a bit as the aching feeling and stinging pain from the sudden appearance of her new limbs faded away.

Rhine's eyes blinked open, her savvy causing even more damage. Several lightbulbs shattered, and furniture were beginning to topple over each other. The coffee table had flipped itself upside down, and its legs were now wriggling, trying in vain to get back up. Rhine's eyes were no longer their normal shade of dark brown. They were a pale, unnerving silver-gray color that seemed to upset every inanimate object they looked at. As if she were sleepwalking, Rhine stood up from the couch, which immediately slammed into the wall once she got up. Rhine sleepwalked towards the kitchen, making several forks embed themselves into the wall. Her eyes found Blix, and she halted.

"The fist will fall," Rhine stated in a completely different voice. "It will fall. It will fall. It will fall. Not even the gods themselves can stop it. War. Destruction."

'Rhine' fell to her knees, her head tilting upwards to face Blix. "Only the last will survive. Only the last. The others will perish."

And with that world-breaking creepy prophecy, she collapsed unconscious again, this time on the kitchen floor.

Blix was startled by Rhine's random prophecy speak, her powerful wings flipping up, cracking against the faucet. "SWEET HOLY MOTHER OF PAIN CARPS!" She exclaimed, flailing to the ground. Once on the ground, still feathery and shirtless, she crawled over to Rhine, pulling her on her lap. "Hey, hey Rhine. I need you to wake up." When Rhine didn't respond, Blix sighed and walked over to the sink, cupping her hands uder the still running faucet. She splashed the water onto Rhine's face before sticking her wings back under the faucet. "Now Rhine, once ya wake up, I'm gonna need you to hold me down." Blix said, waiting for either Rhine to wake up or for Bastion to come back into the room.

Rhine's head really hurt. She felt like someone had taken Thor's hammer and whacked her skull several times with it. With a groan, she sat up and lifted a hand to her throbbing temple. It took her several moments to blink the sleep out of her eyes (actually muta in her native language) and finally notice the winged Blix. "Whoa, are those WINGS?"

She frowned as she took in her current surroundings. Why was she in the kitchen? Wasn't she in the living room with Bastion, Blix, Robin, and Matthew a while ago? Speaking of which, where were the others?

[Okay. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST INACTIVE PEOPLE! POSTTTT!~]

"Yes, yes they are." Blix said matter-of-factly. "And I'mma need something from you, kay?" Blix stood up, folding her bloodstained wings up to avoid smacking them into the walls. "Do ya think you could hold me down after Bastion gets my machete?"

"After I get you your WHAT?" Bastion questioned as he popped his head into the kitchen. He noticed that Rhine had woken up, which was quite good, although her face was wet for some reason. Probably from Blix. Definitely from Blix. He turned his attention to the newly-winged girl, who was trying to fit her wings under the kitchen faucet.

With a sigh, he got Blix's backpack from her room, and after a bit of rummaging, (for there was quite a lot of interesting stuff in it,) he managed to find the machete, as well as the cleanest shirt he could find. I guess it's hard to do laundry if you're always on the move, Bastion thought.

"Are you sure that you have to cut them off?" He said. "Can't you just make another alteration to make them go away?"

"Nope!" Blix said cheerfully. "I gotta lop them off 'fore they get stuck again." She thought back to when she was still mastering felines, getting stuck with a tail for three weeks. Surprisingly, it tore off after getting caught in a door. She had really thought it would be more durable than that. "And anyways," she continued, "I really don't want to cut holes in all my shirts, 'specially when I can just get rid of the problem now. I would be able to dissipate them if they were willing. Stupid reflexes!"

Cheshire stabbed the pancakes repeatedly with his fork, letting the syrup soak in and make the pancakes all mushy. "Well, I guess..." he cut out a large piece from his pancakes and shoved it into his mouth, satisfying both his stomach and his taste buds while not even bothering to finish his sentence.

"Chris is fine, but whatever floats your boat. I don't really mind what anyone calls me, really," he said, muffled by the pancake, but still surprisingly audible.

"Do you like the pancakes?" If he did enjoy them, she would make them for breakfast every other day when they were married, or at least she would in her little fantasy world. "I could make more if you would like. But then again, we're short on time. I'm in need to pay a little visit to a relative of mine." She thought back to her fanfiction, wondering if Cheshire's sister or her cousin would be the maid of honor. Oh well, she would think about it later for chapter 69.

(*whistles innocently*)

Rhine was appalled at the thought of chopping off Blix's wings. "Won't you like...bleed like...A LOT?" She inquired curiously.

She typically wasn't afraid of blood, but it was kind of creepy, if one thought about it. Rhine had had several bad experiences with blood, but even then the amount of blood a human would release from getting their back sliced up...She inwardly shuddered.

"How'd I get in the kitchen by the way? Oh no, don't tell me. I went all Seer from Harry Potter again," Rhine groaned. "I hate it when that happens. I scared the living hell out of my entire family when it first happened. One moment I'm eating strawberry shortcake, the next I'm lying on the kitchen floor."

It probably was one of the only parts of her savvy she could never control. Reality control did come with a price, but losing control of your entire body and mind every once in a while was still not cool at all.

Rhine glanced around the neat kitchen, and noticed several forks embedded into the walls. "Okay, I did that, didn't I? That is a health hazard. Where's Robin and Matthew?" She stood up shakily, and plucked a fork out of the wall.

"Yes, yes, and yes. I believe that they're in the living room. But yeah, the whole chopping new limbs off is necessary. Just lemme lay out some newspapers first, kay?" Blix walked over to her backpack, pulling out a gigantic bundle of newspapers and proceeding to lay them all over the kitchen floor. "Why the crap do I have so much stuff in here? I can't even remember how I got half of this stuff!" she said, her voice quivering a bit. She hated the whole cutting bit. Sure, it didn't take that long, but bejeezus it hurt. "I better grab some bandages too." She pointed out, hucking a small roll of bandages unto the layer of newspaper. "Okay, now hold my wings down, kay?" Blix said to Rhine as she lay face-down on the floor.
