Blix turned to the open door, her eyes shining happily. "OMIGOSH people!" She yelled out, leaping out into a sort of attack hug, pinning the two adults under her paws. "Oh, this is so exciting!"

Verity and Elijah were stunned for a few moments before they started screaming bloody murder. Rhine leaped up from the couch in a hurry. "Blix, get off them, you're scaring them. Mum, Dad, stop screaming," She called out to her parents and the panther as she sweatdropped (LIKE IN ANIME).

Blix blinked, reverting to a panther gijinka form, and stumbling back onto her knees. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She bowed her head down. "You have the right to choose punishment of choice." She stated simply, seeming to expect a punishment of some sort.

Elijah and Verity scrambled to their feet, looking bewildered at the sudden transformation of the panther into a purple-haired girl. Verity stood behind Elijah, peeking at the girl with a mixture of fear and confusion. Luckily, Rhine stepped in quickly, yanking Blix to her feet. "Mum, Dad, this is Blix. Her savvy is shapeshifting," Rhine quickly introduced before Blix did anything that caused her parents to freak. "Blix, these are my overprotective parents that call the police after I'm late for half an hour," She added, rolling her eyes.

"What are police?" Blix asked, curious. "Oh, I'm being so rude! I'm sorry for glomping you!" Blix said, bowed down in apology. "I'm new here! Do you have savvies as well?" Blix's thoughts wandered, varying from kittens to potato farming. She wondered what it was like to have a mother, as she could barely remember hers.

Both adults had finally snapped out of shock, and Verity rolled her eyes at Rhine's comment. "It's not our fault you keep getting into all sorts of trouble."

"The last time I got into trouble was when I made Jimmy Turner from next door cry when I was six," Rhine pointed out.

Verity fell silent as Rhine stifled a laugh. "Anyway, Dad's got a savvy, but Mum is eternally useless."

Rhine's mother glared at her, putting her hands on her hips. It seemed that the panther incident had been forgotten.

Cheshire simply blinked as the girl was handed over to "Lumo." He stood leaning against the waiting car as the girl was put inside. What happened to her later didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was that the girl wasn't Audrey. I won't be like mom and dad. I won't die, and leave you behind to fend for yourself. That was the invisible promise that he'd made.

His hair stood on end as he felt it. There was no way to explain it, he just knew. There was another savvy nearby. After almost a year of hunting them, he had developed a sort of "sixth sense" that told him when there was one near him.

He approached the boss, Mr. Gato. There was another girl with him, this one much older than the small child. A scorch mark stood at Gato's feet. There was no mistaking it, she was definitely a savvy. And two of them within just a few minutes. It must be my lucky day. I think this even puts me ahead of the quota for savvies spotted. Maybe after this I'll take the weekend off and take Audrey to a movie or something.

He stopped walking when he was about 20 feet away. The girl seemed...agitated.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked, to either of them.

Mattie took her eyes off Gato for a moment and glanced at the white-haired older boy. "Just a casual conversation between a girl and the man who ordered to have her entire family killed, including the ones who hadn't a single clue that savvys existed," she spat angrily, sparks violently popping.

For a moment, Mattie lost control and there was a bright flash of red in the skies, as if someone had sent a signal with a flare gun. She quickly struggled to control her anger as she remembered her family who had been killed right in front of her. She exhaled slowly, and managed to look the boy in the eyes without making Gato burn to death. At the second glance, her eyes widened and she momentarily forgot her anger.

"Chris Hansen? You and your sister went MIA after your parents were killed! You work for them now?" Mattie said, her anger against Gato returning.

Back when Agatha had caught her stealing and offered her a home, Matilda had demanded proof that Agatha wasn't working for Gato's organization. The older woman obliged, and recited the deaths and missing savvy people, most families whom Mattie knew. The Hansen family were one of the very few who still had members alive. Now Mattie knew how the other families were tracked down so easily.

"You turned our own kind against each other? I thought you couldn't get any more inhuman!" Mattie shouted at Aran, her hands curling into fists.

She wanted to kill him so badly then. She knew for a fact she could do it easily, but she remembered the little girl they had taken. Who knew how many others they had taken and were still alive? She managed to calm down slowly, relaxing her body and taking deep breaths.

"The only reason you're not dead yet," Mattie growled at Gato, "is because I can't stand to think of that little girl getting experimented on like what you did to me."

[Dundundudndudnududn much drama. MISALAIAIAIAIAIAII WAKE UPPP *throws cookie*]

Blix seemed to magically appear on Rhine's father's shoulders in the form of a cat. "What's your savvy?" She asked, her mind filling with possibilities and overflowing with randomness. She couldn't help wondering if her had the ability to make kittens out of potatoes. How cool would that be! But back to the topic at hand, Blix was curious.

Robin snapped back to her senses. Her mind had started to wander. Or maybe she passed out, or both. Either way, she headed into Blix's house. She was about to say something when she noticed Rhine's parents and abruptly stopped. "Er, hello," she said as cheerfully as she could manage, which actually wasn't very cheerful.

(Any ideas for Crystal to do? :p)

Elijah no longer seemed to be afraid of Blix, and reached out to pat her. "Protection. No one in my family ever gets hurt to the edge of death," He explained as he patted Blix-cat.

Rhine and her parents were startled at the sudden entrance of Robin, who seemed to have finally come out of her trance. "Another neighbor? Pleasure to meet you," Verity greeted warmly.

Rhine gave a little wave to Robin, as Elijah was busy petting Blix-cat.

"Nice to meet you too," Robin replied. She heard distinctive footsteps and saw a bit of a hand unsuccessfully hidden. "I swear if you don't stop following me Matthew I'm going t-" She stopped mid-sentence, remembered the presence of other people. The messy-haired boy appeared fully. "There's nothing better to do!" he claimed.

When Rhine saw the boy appear from thin air, she acted instinctively. She easily broke through his mental shields in surprise, successfully knocking him out cold right after he and Robin exchanged words. Rhine blinked in surprise, and clapped a hand over her mouth. "Oh crap! So sorry!"

Blix immediately leapt on top of the unconscious male, shifting into a serval in midair. "This day is the best!" she exclimed. It was so much better then the lab, with all it's needles and torture devices and barley any internet privilages. She thought back to the time when she stole one of the scientists's computers and hacked it, sending adorable cat videos to everyone. That was fun.

Having nothing to do, Bastion decided to see where Blix had wandered off to. She was really the only person left in this strange place that he at least knew. He stared at the houses lined up side by side. Let's see, this one maybe? He tried a door, only to find it locked. He was about to try the next one over, when he heard a commotion from a house with its door open. I'm betting she's the one making all the racket.

As it turned out, his suspicions were proven correct. There were a number of people in the house, including a cat-like creature that was jumping around on the furniture. That's gotta be Blix for sure, he thought to himself. He looked around the room, taking it in with a low whistle.

"Wow, where can I get a house like this?" He wondered aloud. The house itself wasn't a mansion or anything, but he would have gladly given up anything in exchange for living alone.

Blix looked up, shifting into a serval gijinka form, still standing on the boy's chest. "Bastion!" She shouted, leaping out of the open doorway, knocking him over. "Hi! Ya like my house? Come in!" She hopped to her feet and dragged him inside, ears perked happily.

Bastion let himself be dragged about by the hyper cat-girl. A smile flickered on his lips.

"Yeah, it's a really nice house all right," he said. He stole glances into each of the rooms as Blix tore him past them.

"Any chance that I'd be able to get a house here too?" he asked, curious to see if Blix knew the answer.

"OMIGOSh if I lived all alone I would be so looonneeeellllyyyyy" Blix realized, her ears drooping a bit. "Oh wait! Idea! You can live with me! Yes, that's perfect! There's like 1, 2, 3... 5 extra rooms here! Well, ok, there's not that many, but I'm terrible at counting!" Blix ran to her bag, happily pulling out a cat headband. She proceeded to shove it on Bastion's head. "There, we're twinsies! It's official, you have to stay!" She smiled, satisfied by her wonderful idea.

Bastion laughed, for the first time in...a while, actually. He couldn't distinctly remember the last time he'd had a good laugh. Blix's cheeriness was almost...contagious. However, the feeling was fleeting, soon replaced with the familiar emptiness.

He patted the cat ears on his head. She really does have everything in that bag of hers. The fabric felt silky as he rubbed it between two fingers. I guess I'll keep this on for a while, it seems to make her really happy.

"Well then," he said, "I guess if it's okay with you, then I'm here to stay. Although I'd have to make sure my family knows by the end of the day. Sound good?"

"Squeeee! Wait, you have family? DOES THAT MEAN I GET TO MEET MORE PEOPLE?" Blix exclaimed, grabbing Bastion's shoulders and pulling him close, her nose lightly pressing against his. She continued to imagine various awesome things, like baby tigers eating muffins, and random things like that.
