Quote from someplayers(Oh I'm sorry. I was kinda into the notion that a turn-based roleplay like this is in a structure where the action of the roleplayer before you affects whatever action you may take in the future. I guess I was thinking that this roleplay was a free-flowing universe where everybody is entitled to write whatever they wished to happen and to not be restricted to a plot ONE PERSON thinks is right. I guess Finhawk might have failed to tell us beforehand that we were following a SET PLOT. So unless you knew of the future events that would happen, what I did was valid in all senses of the word. Sorry if what I'm saying is wrong. But that is what I understand.)

Quote from Rules>Don't stray away from the main plot. I have plans and I don't want every character to be running off on their own and doing whatever they want. However, don't be mistaken, I won't be ordering every player around like a tyrant non-stop.

Quote from Rules>I'm the GM, which means, when it comes to the RP, my word is final. So don't go inventing major plot twists on your own.

So there actually is a loose plot to this RP and I have evil plans. However, this does not mean that I'm forbidding people from writing what they wish happened (unless it's an sudden alien invasion or something they're writing). Neverlight didn't mean that you're not entitled to writing whatever you wish to happen either, he pointed out that your way of disabling the grenade was illogical and most likely impossible.

Quote from Neverlight(Just to let you know, unless this assassin was using a grenade from WW1, the grenade would have no problem exploding in a vacuum. Most modern grenades have a chemical trigger these days. You should probably have asked before telling us what our characters did, even if it wasn't a big control. Just a heads up before Finhawk gets on.)

Yes, asking is always great and I encourage it. In this case, the grenade surely isn't from WW1 and like Neverlight pointed out, wouldn't have trouble exploding even when derived of oxygen. (I think. I'm no expert on grenades and the quick research I had time to do indicates Neverlight is right here. However, if you disagree, you're free to link me evidence that proves us wrong.)

Also, don't post purely OOC chatter in the actual RP thread, that stuff goes into this thread. :]

Oh, those two would be my Johnny and someplayers's Allan. Though Allan kinda just came to so there's actually just one unconscious fella in the mix now. :p

@xCharizardx: Not all of the S1 members are being enclosed in the metallic thing, only Johnny and Allan. The metal stuff is Trix's weirdo wings she used to get the two lads away from the assassin.

It was probably my post that was confusing, I apologize for that.

With everything that's happened, I must admit I'm a bit confused too. It would be very helpful if perhaps someone could sketch a quick diagram? Like, including the school, the bus, the trees/wood and the relative position of the fight. Also, I'm slightly confused as to the location of the base, as in is it in the city or just outside (rural)? Sorry if I sound a bit dumb...

Wheeeee~ new char ouo

Name: Nieves Eikenboom ("Yes, that's my actual surname.")

Alias: Chimera

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Alliance: The Web and herself. Perambulates between the Path of Liberty (Chaotic Good), and Path of Mercy (Neutral Good). [Humane & Transcendent.]

Interests: || Carpentry || Stained Glass Art (for obvious reasons) || Shoemaking || Medieval armor || Cryptozoology || Cold reading || COFFEE ||

Appearance: fc : Mak Weinman
(i'm not actually sure if this is allowed, so just ignore the fc if so.)

Standing Surviving with a sturdy height of 5'6, Nieves (or Nie, for more lazy speakers) isn't particularly notable nor easy to pick out from the crowd. Her choice clothing is casual and even occasionally boring. She sticks to the sweeping grays, dim blues, soft browns, and stark blacks of the wardrobe - a color combination that seems ordinary enough. Despite her less than pendant attitude with fashion, the fussiness with which she addresses footwear is almost obnoxious. This spawns from her need to constantly work with glass. The mere thought of going barefoot is abhorrent to her, and it would be most sensible to simply ignore this little quirk of hers. Or else she might irritably stab you in the foot, which she is infamous for.

A need for an incognito is one that Nieves perfunctorily achieves in contrast to her ex-teammates. As Chimera, her flair for the pragmatic is most pronounced with uh, a design that most would consider ignominious. Anyone who comments on it is sure to get kicked with her sharp boots. She conveniently and bluntly (GET IT? *gets smacked for pun*) takes only a moment to construct resilient armor (that has its medieval aspects) to cloak her body and identity. Though the glass particles used vary every single time (resourcefulness is a must), she has dubbed it her Chimera armor. It angles piercing points onto her shoulders and the tips of her footwear, while a floaty veil-like plating shields her skull. The latter can compress into a helmet with minimal effort from yours truly.

Personality: If you ask those who have acquainted themselves with Nieves to describe her with one word, the first that will topple off the tip of their tongue will be hasty in doing so: pragmatic. Nie won't hesitate to inhibit her emotions when she deems it necessary. While it may seem that she loves shoving this down everyone's throats, it is as a matter of fact quite the opposite. Any lack of empathy she conveys isn't intentional, at least not always. It comes naturally (and she will never admit it but she hates that). What more could you expect from someone who's been alone all their life? She's not totally inhumane, of course, but when it comes out...well, bottled up emotions are never a pretty sight. You could say Nie has anger issues when it comes to that, and it is one of the few things she would never hold against someone. She grudgingly accepts this limitation of hers - mainly because the first time she blew up, she nearly killed someone she cared about. The extent to which this scares her is classified, but consider carefully the next time she stalks out of the room to be left alone.

On the other hand, Nie is more perceptive than she lets on. Her quick reactions have saved her from more sticky situations than she can count, and she has the uncanny habit of cold reading people. Not to mention that she has a tendency to blurt out random observations in her usual staccato and freak out strangers. Again with the confusion...why are people so paranoid or stuck up? As if she'd stalk them. Nie has to admit she can't talk though - there's a reason she figuratively casts furtive glances over her shoulder every moment of the day. Her personality type is ISTJ.

Abilities/Super power:

Vitrikinesis

Also otherwise known as glass manipulation, vitreokinesis, and hyalokinesis, etc, etc. Nieves is more than ready to make a few shards go up anyone's nose, which is pretty alarming and self-explanatory when her teammates edge away from her. She prefers to deploy resourcefulness and quick wits in combat, but it won't stop her from loading herself up with supplies. The amount of glass she can generate is quite limited - so limited that she consistently passes out and sulks afterwards. She can telekinetically move, shape, and compress glass particles, along with being capable of manipulating certain properties; namely, color, density, sharpness, hardness, durability, opacity, and flexibility. Obviously, when under attack and pressure and with a limited timeframe and energy, she rarely can afford to force glass to undergo specific lethalizations.

The denser, larger, or thicker (or all three) the glass she's controlling is tires her out faster. Glass particles within a 77 meter radius and her line of sight are likely candidates for manipulation, but she struggles more the farther it is and if it's not in her peripheral vision. Concentration breaks are also always a viable option to exploit. And glass is quite brittle unless she takes the time to increase their durability. *cOUGHS*

(Slightly) Enhanced Reflexes

It's nothing seriously or overly supernatural - just that her reflexes have garnered some notice and she's a little reputed for that one incident when a mugger tried to shoot her at point blank range and she managed to turn it away right before he squeezed the trigger.

History: "Ugh. Why are you so interested in this anyway? Whatever. I'm leaving parts out - what you don't know will kill you.

"My parents met and procreated. I came into existence. Grew up in an orphanage. Ran away a couple of times. Almost succeeded, but bloody social services kept bringing me back. Never got adopted because of my anger problems. Discovered my powers when- You know what? Not going into that. All you need to know is that Fausto found me and convinced me to join. Let's not get into the details of how I may or may not have almost accidentally killed one of my future teammates during that time.

"Then he went and betrayed us all. It was my fault for beginning to...actually trust people. His brother went and bailed on us too. Blood's still thicker than water, I suppose. I...lost it. I went and followed him and Derek like some lost puppy. So what...happens now? I don't know. And to be honest with you, just this once, I don't want to know."

Here's fabulous paint art from your truly:

That's at least how I pictured it. :d

Also, yay for a new char. I shall add her to the google docs list soon. Also, I forgot to mention this in the PM but FCs are indeed fine.

To anyone wondering: Yes, you can make multiple characters. Omnia PMed me and asked about making another character and particularly a member of Web before posting here.

YES. I was hoping we could have more characters. Time for little sis to shake things up >:)

Name: Vennidal Krakalenge
Alias: Trojan
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Alliance: Vannister Squad 1
Interests: Anything that whirrs, beeps, clicks or buzzes. She enjoys winning playing chess, as well as browsing the internet in search of more knowledge.

Appearance:

Personality: Her personality is a bit... sketchy. Sure she has one, but she is so much a machine that her feelings and emotions have warped to fit her mechanical mind. She hardly ever displays any emotion at all, though a hot temper seems to run in the family, and her decisions are based almost entirely only cold hard logic. She speaks very softly, and practically in a monotone, with her words being strange and program based. If someone were to ask her how she has been, her reply would be along the lines of, "Your concern is unfounded. The day has been quite pleasant for me. Protocol dictates that I should return the question. How are you?" Due to the fact that her brain works much faster than a normal humans, she sees most other people as "Foolish primates." One thing her programing has not erased is her loyalty and affection for her brother. He is one of the few people she sees as an equal, and would gladly die for him. She even show signs of actual emotion when talking to him.

Abilities/Super power: According to her, she can "hear the whispers of the machines." In actuality her abilities are a bit more sophisticated than that. Her most obvious power, if you can even call it that, is her near completely mechanical body. Her bones, muscles, veins, organs, and even blood have all been replaced with synthetic counterparts. The only organic components left are her skin and most of her brain. Due to the fact that she is almost completely made of titanium, she is stronger and more durable than the average human. Her body can adapt itself to most situations, and can fit any computer port she may run across including car key slots. She also possesses a degree of technokinesis, being able to operate or command machine from a fairly long distance. This however, is not her most powerful ability. What makes her so useful is the fact that she can "speak to machines." With a verbal command, she can force machines to bend to her will, no matter how secure it is. If you give her internet access, she can connect to it through her mind. Firewalls crumble before her, passwords practically crack themselves for fear of her. If it is powered by electricity, it is hers to control. Only problem with this is that she doesn't fight. At all. Not even with machines. If she had a chance to kill Hitler, she wouldn't do it. Violence of any sort disgusts her. Ironically enough, her new artificial life gave her a better understanding of how sacred true life was.

History: Her past is just as shadowy as Vannister's, having arrived along with him. She was quite young then, and her powers were only just beginning to take hold. Her body slowly assimilated the machine parts, with the organic originals simply disappearing. Her child like demeanor faded as well, being replaced with a rabid curiosity. Once she learned to tap into internet signals, she spent a full week intaking as much information as she could. She didn't eat. She didn't sleep. She simply learned. As time went by her body finished it's transformation, leaving her as a fully functioning android. She didn't mind. In fact, she reveled in her new abilities, always on the hunt for some new scarp of knowledge.

Your character's mostly fine but what bothers me is the fact that her powers are quite similar to Derek's. I can totally see where you're going with the cyborg thing and the powers make perfect sense with the character but having two characters with such similar abilities would be kinda... Dunno.

I'm not saying 'no' right now so don't go outright ditching the whole character yet. I need to think about this. And to think, I need to sleep first.

(Death would be more than welcome to give her two cents on this but if I remember correctly, she has some lack of Internet for a short while. :d)

Whoops. I didn't remember there being a hacker guy. At any rate, is there a specific reason you don't want people to have the same/similar powers? I mean I get that it would be boring if everyone was the same, and you want people to get creative with their powers, but two people with similar power on opposing sides doesn't seem all that bad to me. Furthermore, the two characters only share a single similar ability, "hacking" machines. The other character does possess a form of kinesis, but it is telekinesis, rather than technokinesis. This distinction nullifies that issue. I believe that my characters "hacking" is certainly similar to Death's in some ways, but also has enough differences to get past the "same power" rule. If you disagree, I'll be happy to change it though. Your RP, your rules after all.

I know, I know. It just seems dull when people have similar powers. I've come across RPs where multiple people have something frustratingly common like pyrokinesis and I hate it.

I guess you do have a point there though. I can allow this. I'm just on my phone now so I'll add her to the character list later.

Edit: on second thought I'll just wait for others to post first.
