I was thinking about how many days tgere were until my birthday, and I thought "What if you could get notifications when someone on your friend list had a birthday?" Thw way this would work would be that when someone registered on PH, you would have to enter your birthday (Not sure if you already have to or not... I forgot, so...) And on the day of your birthday, a notification would be sent to everyone who has added you. Also, maybe you could recieve a special plushie or something that you would only get once (The first time you had a birthday while on PH.)

Have an option in settings that allows you to turn off the birthday notifications, so if you dont like people knowing when your birthday is, then you wont have to worry about it

Its a good idea and all but I think we (as users) would post if our birthday was today. on the flip side someone may try to pull a fast one and say today is their birthday if it actually like 5 months from now.

The only thing is, that some people don't like celebrating their birthday, and don't wan't other people knowing what that day is. I for one wouldn't wan't everyone knowing when my birthday is and flooding me with plushies etc. Also, I do seem to remember something similar being suggested before. I think the PH birthday (the anniversary of registering for PH) is enough.

Suggestions like this have been made before. The main issue is there are a LOT of users who don't want others to know their real birthdays. (Proof of this is through how many users claim that January First is their birthday, which Riako mentioned before, lol.)

So while it's a neat idea, it's rather flawed. Especially since actual birthdays aren't really celebrated by the site itself. If I want to celebrate my birthday on here, I'll celebrate it on here. If I don't want anyone on here to celebrate my birthday, then I won't announce it anywhere.

I actually like celebrating my B-day online, since my only irl friend is several hours away and we usually meet up once between our birthdays to celebrate, then are done. (She's July 27th and I'm August 13th, so we have time to do that) so I'm usually alone on my birthday or spending it only with family. But, if I had more irl friends and went out to celebrate my birthday, I'd think it was more of a hassle if all these people whom I don't know had wished me a happy birthday or had sent me gifts.

I personally think it's a great idea, under the condition that you; and only you get a notification/auto pm wishing you a happy birthday, whether you get a gift or not, wouldn't really bother me, a limited plushie does sound like a cute idea; though.

As others have said, not everyone likes to celebrate their birthdays with everyone (myself included ) but, if only we can see the message, then I support :)

Well, like Flamaster said, you should be able to turn it off in the settings or something i you dont like the idea
