I prefer Pokemon Blue/Red.
Reasons:No much TMs.You can complete the whole pokedex without trade.Just need to trade for Squirtle or Bulbasaur if you started with Charmander. Also the Elite 4 Is easy.Cuz Pokemon Blue/Red doesnt have many Attacks.
But:Its not 3D And no colors. But that doesnt matter.
Pokemon X/Y:Enormous citys? Can get lost easily at Lumiose city. Many TMs.Elite 4 is lvl 60+And first time we battle elite 4 we have lvl 50 Pokemons. Also you can get only 4 Legendaries at Pokemon X/Y.Unless you transfer others to Pokemon X/Y.
Also:You cannot get Yveltal at X And you cannot get Xerneas at Y Unless you trade. Also you can only get one of Bird Trios. And,Legendaries can be catched easily with Timer balls or Quickballs.

I prefer X & Y

The Pokémon Franchise have evolved a lot since its debut, you should expect these to have become where they are now.

To rebut against your claim, of course it's "harder" now in Pokémon X & Y than in Red & Blue, but if Pokémon itself didn't evolve, the game would be too simple and way too boring.

We wouldn't have Dark, Steel or Fairy types either, and they contributed greatly to the series.
Also, your point about the Elite Four basically states that you're too lazy to train. It's a lot easier to train in X & Y by a large amount. You gain more EXP plus the EXP Share now effects your full team rather than one Pokémon.

And personally, the towns in Red & Blue were way too small and you have little evidence to support the "Enormous Cities", stating really the only big city, which is Lumiose City, the others are just confusing to navigate around.

Another point to consider is that there's a reason you can't get all the Pokémon needed for the Nationaldex in one game, you would have nothing to try to complete if you did, especially post-game and you can't even get all the Pokémon in one specific game. Version Exclusives

& yeah, that's my post for ya

I prefer Red/Blue.

151 Pokemon, not that hard to complete the pokedex. But that many pokemon in X/Y, no way. It's nearly impossible.

Quote from Mega_CharmanderAlso the Elite 4 Is easy.Cuz Pokemon Blue/Red doesnt have many Attacks.

Oh, X and Y, easily and without a doubt. Red and Blue has the nostalgia factor, but in retrospect.... that's kind of all it has?

Very limited mechanics, no real competitive team building/battling, lacking a lot of the features I've come to love over the years. There's so much to the Pokemon games now; so many different things to do, ways to evolve pokemon, types of battles, strategies and move pools. I love, for example, the physical/special attacking division. It just makes everything a little more challenging.... and consequently, more fun and rewarding.

Not the mention the lovely graphics and trainer customization. ;)

Reading the first post i must say why I DONT like red & blue. Like you said - elite4 is easy.. what is the point when its not challenging? The easy legendary catch is annoying yes but its for the sake of the completion of the story and moving on to post game and competitive where the real action starts ^^
Also the fact that the old games have 3 or 5 houses at a city is kinda annoying.. atleast for me :3 Also on x/y you have way more ways to interact with other people which can be fun.. and not linking cables like old times :D Still i love the old games but there is no room for comparison.

I've played one or two games from each generation that was released, and although Red/Blue and X/Y were not my absolute favorites, I prefer X/Y.

I do understand that when Red/Blue was first released the handheld gaming systems were still in their early days, and for the limitations in hardware and coding that existed at the time Red/Blue was absolutely fantastic! But then they remade it for GBA, and while I did pick up the game for nostalgia I was hoping for a little bit more in that day and age than just a rehash with a few islands thrown in at the end. It had what I felt was a lot of missed opportunities to further improve the storyline, character development, and added features. They also seemed to have migrated some Pokemon locations with no logical in-game explanation (like Ponyta). If they ever redo Red/Blue again for a 3D platform I'm hoping they would give the game a decent overhaul like what they did to the ORAS games.

XY was generally a lot more interesting to me because the game opened up with a bunch of things to do that kept me busy even when I wasn't progressing in the storyline (I loved Wonder Trade and O Powers, as well as making those silly trainer videos that no one watched). And then you could unlock more things as you progressed. I loved the rollerblades that made walking around a bit quicker and I spent tons of money on clothes. And I can't forget the berries! I love gardening in these Pokemon games and the berry patch was fun. And just when I thought I was done with the game post E4, the Friend Safari was unlocked and I had a lot of fun joining Safari communities and raiding their yards.

The cities of XY were somewhat confusing at first, but they felt closer to an actual city and town compared to the other Pokemon games. But the reason XY wasn't my absolute overall favorite was because it felt like a lot of the places in that game were not very memorable; it seemed like some took up space simply to give you more distance to cover, with a few Team Flare people here and there for drama. I also greatly disliked the fact that I was not allowed to attempt to capture the roaming legendaries immediately upon encounter, and instead had to chase them around on the maps several times before it landed. But overall I enjoyed the XY generation more than the Red/Blue one.
