A purr rumbled in her throat as the two kits--one a golden-brown tabby with white stripes, the other a very confident-looking tortoiseshell--of Whitepelt stumbled up to the High Stones, having to crane their heads up to see the young leader on top of the smooth, glimmering stone, which was rather tall. Fernshade caught a glimpse of Whitepelt, who was swelling with pride.
"Faithful cats of DawnClan, we all gather peacefully here today for a meeting." Meowed the broad-shouldered leader, Brindlestar. That quieted all the cats quickly. "It is great to see our brave cats in such a health, and this time we gather again as our clan grows. Today, two kits, Honeykit and Dapplekit, have reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed."
The cats of DawnClan glanced at the bouncing kits.
"Dapplekit, step forward if you please." Mewed Brindlestar.
The tortoiseshell took many steps forward until she was close, a flurry of white at her paws.
(Can you make Dapplekit Fernshade's apprentice? I g2g)
"Dapplepaw, it's rather late in the night. Even if you are bursting with excitement, you'd best get some rest and the first thing when you wake up we'll go check the territories." Dapplepaw nodded, and began to head for the Nursery. "Oh, and your an apprentice now. You've got a nest in the Apprentices' Den," Fernshade chuckled, as the tortoiseshell gave a giggle about her mistake, turning back before she went to the Apprentices' Den. "G'night, Fernshade," She meowed and went to her sleepy-moss nest.
The ginger-brown warrior with honey-blonde splotches and a white under-belly that streaked up to her muzzle rolled drowsily in her moss nest, her striking fire-like blue eyes slowly fluttering open, as she lolled onto her spine, and flipped back over. Her ears swiveled, and she arose to her paws with her fluffy wild tail lashing, her un-groomed fur puffing a bit more than usual.
She stretched herself out, and padded out of the warriors' den, just about to go off on her own wanders until she remembered--Dapplepaw was her apprentice now, which meant she wasn't just free to roam around in DawnClan territory; she had an apprentice to train.
She hauled herself to the Apprentices' Den, and it was rather easy to spot the thick-furred lump of tortoiseshell fur. Expecting the excited apprentice to be awake, she was a bit surprised she wasn't, and nudged the apprentice. "Dapplepaw," Fernshade meowed softly. The apprentice stirred, and got up wearily. "Wha..." She mumbled, still half-asleep. Honeypaw was already awake. "Training," Fernshade reminded her, and the tortoiseshell's golden eyes went ablaze with excitement. "Oh, yeah!" She mewed, and jetted out of her nest. "Nightshade and Honeypaw are coming with us to tour around the forest," Fernshade pointed out.
It was so large and tall that there were elders' tales that the Spinning Tree had forever been growing, and that it scraped the clouds if it wished. Honeypaw and Dapplepaw stared at it in awe, Dapplepaw's mouth gaped open in shock.
"The Spinning Tree. A good spot for hunting if you can climb," Fernshade added, glancing up proudly at the tree.
