An egg won't magically appear. Chickens are actually able to lay eggs, so they came first.

Actually, they still have a species of chicken that has not evolved since the dinosaurs died. Their species is as old as the dinosaurs

Birds were alive at the time though. They bred with different species of birds and ended up with the Chicken.

ACTUALLY: First, like everything else, chickens evolved. At some point, a not-chicken became a chicken. And that chicken had to have come out of an egg, which existed before the not-chicken.
