Lately the weather had been dreary and damp, but the morning that Luna woke up to was almost unfamiliar--it was warm, and fresh. A nose prodded her shoulder. She turned, and saw Dragon. She also saw Hazel sitting up. Oh, gosh. How long did I sleep in? Hazel usually got up rather late.
"Wake up, sleepy." Dragon murmured playfully. Luna groaned, and turned to her other side so she wasn't facing him. Her face buried in her paws. "I don't want to." She grumbled, and Dragon sighed. "Okay, fine. Don't let it be my fault that you missed food." He sighed, and padded away to hunt.
''it's nice to get out of the cave for a while...'' swift murmured, lightly leaning against buster.
buster chuckled and nuzzled her cheek.
''yeah, it is nice to get out of the cave for a while'' he agreed.
their tail's entwined as they walked through the field.
She wanted to sigh, but remembered the incredible hearing that the deer had and stifled that back down her throat. As she was just about ready to pounce out from her hiding spot from underneath a bush, a glossy-furred wolf pounced onto the deer. The deer wasn't taken down and instead it bucked off the he-wolf and went for the run.
Willow sprung after it and grabbed a hold of it's hind leg, yanking it back. The deer tumbled to its knees and Willow sank her teeth in the back of its neck, and it quickly grew limp. The he-wolf stumbled back to his paws and glanced at Willow. "Hey! I was going to get that." He complained. Willow's eyes narrowed.
"Well too bad." She snapped, and got on her paws. "Look, I don't want to fight you for it..." The he-wolf said softly. "What, do you think I'm weak?" She barked, growling. The he-wolf stepped back. "Whoa, calm down. My name's Dragon. I'm sure we can settle this in a peaceful way."
Willow's claws slashed across Dragon's chest, leaving a gash. He didn't whimper, but instead his expression fixated into a scowl. "Fine, if that's the way you want to play it." He growled. This idiot thinks he will be able to take me down. Willow thought, slightly amused. Dragon charged towards her at a speed that would be considered shameful in her pack. She dodged to the side and with her shoulder butted his flank powerfully.
He stumbled to the ground. She crouched down, holding Dragon down with her left shoulder. Her teeth sank into his paw and she yanked. Dragon only whimpered. Quite teasingly she twisted slowly, making his whimper break into a yowl.
Willow's claws scraped across his spine, but in a way that only caused pain. She forced herself not to flinch a bit as Dragon yowled once more. Quickly and messily her paw slammed into his head, knocking him out, and she sank her teeth scruffily into his neck in a way that would make her former mentor growl at her.
Willow nimbly picked up the deer and trotted away, carelessly pushing aside the autumn leaves and listening to the tune of the birds until she was a few good miles away from her hunting spot.
''luna, wake up now'' he said, and just like that he run's out of the cave in the direction dragon was in.
hazel looked over at luna then watched her brother run off.
''i think you should follow him... i'll stay with the pup's'' she said walking over and curling up next to them.
swift and buster both were resting under a willow tree on a small hill in the field's.
they were both sleeping until the sound of yowling woke them up.
''oh no...'' swift muttered, head instantly up.
''let's get going'' buster said.
they both got up and ran as fast as they could to where the pain filled yowl came from.
Luna nodded. Her nose buried into his glossy fur. "I will." She muttered quietly. His nose pressed against her cheek for a moment, she it fell on the ground. A pool of blood curled onto the ground. Luna stepped back, and looked up to the sky. "He's gone." She said, and looked sadly at Swift.
hazel had fallen asleep while watching the pup's.
''come on, let's head out'' moon said.
''we shouldn't leave until our parent's return'' thorn said in irritation.
moon huffed and glared at her brother's.
''stop being scaredy pup's, your both old enough you should be able to know it's safe to go out of the cave!'' she snapped.
draco and thorn both whimpered, keeping themselves low to the ground.
''your both a couple of scaredy pup's....'' he grumbled, ear's pinned back as she went out of the cave to explore.
Three moons later; Spring
Luna's loss for Dragon hadn't caused her to mourn and stare off to space all day or speak spitefully, but she had become more relaxed, and more playful. It was as if a haunt had been released from her; it seemed as if Dragon sometimes reminded her of her dark, bitter past. She didn't feel any less happy that he was gone, though, and believed that he would wan her to be happy--Luna didn't need anyone to tell her that. As the warm breeze drifted into the cave and the now grassy floor was bathed in golden sunlight, Luna was shifting to consciousness and listened to the harmony of the bird's peaceful chirps. It brought an enlightening melody that made her giddy and her veins filled with energy. She sprung up to her paws and padded over to Swift, who seemed to be the only one awake in the bright early morning. "Want to race across those hills nearby?" She asked, her ebony tail seeming like a black blade as she lashed it happily. "Just for fun, like before." She added.
''sure, it's been a while since i've raced with someone'' she said, standing up.
she chuckled and shook her shaggy pelt out as she headed to the front of the cave.
''though, you better be prepared to eat my dust...'' she said teasingly.
draco bounded over and looked up at swift.
''can i come? please?'' he asked, tail wagging excitedly.
''sure sweetie, you can come'' she said, nuzzling his head.
he bounced around and wagged his tail more.
