Bane stopped floating and just started walking.

Rythim stopped sparking upon seeing it was usless and just started towards the beacon.

Luka saw the faint glint of Kikki's Pay Day, before it was lost in the blizzard. She attempted to head towards that direction, when the blizzard began to pick up. The branches became slick with ice and snow, and Luka found she was forced to walk in order to find her partner.

Kikki shivered when the snow started to fall, and continued to run in search of Luka.

A shadow of a bird Pokémon quickly flew over Ryu, but seemed to disappear into the blizzard. He thought he saw someone riding it.
As he walked, the trees seemed more and more skeletal.

"You know, these trees appear rather eerie," Grima noted. "I'm guessing that they are going to start moving or something in an attempt to frighten the participants.

(They are, and you will see why later.)

"Are you scaaaaaared?" Bane teased. "They prolly wont move."

Rythim paused for a moment to send up a few more sparks, making some of the snow appear to look like diamonds.

(spot the game reference! and its not obvimouse.)

"No, I am not," Grima replied calmly. "In fact, I wouldn't even mind if they started to move, because there is a pretty high chance that it was the work of a Pokémon and that the plants aren't doing it by themselves."

(Actually, it kind of is "obvimouse." Diamond dust.)

"Arent tree pokemon sudowoodo. These trees look nothing like sudowoodo." Bane said.
(The obvimouse one is pokemon diamond. Bane knows very little of kalos aside from the fact that its where mega evolution was discovered. shes going to be terrified.)

(... which contains diamond dust, a special kind of snow.)

"Have you never heard of the Psychic-type, or your own type, Ghost? You could quite easily control a tree with telekinesis, so another Pokémon could do the same. Besides, Sudowoodo isn't a tree. On the contrary, it's a rock. Other Pokémon do, however, bear a striking resemblance to trees; furthermore, at least one Pokémon can use its roots as a nervous system for an entire forest and control trees from afar, preventing those who disturb it from leaving the forest ever again, and making them die a slow, painful death from starvation, dehydration, and sometimes cold. This may cause them to become its pre-evolved form, if they happen to be children," Grima explained.

"I cannot control trees. I am fairly certain of that. And sudowoodo looks like a tree. And you stopped making sense after that" Bane rolled her eyes.

Grima sighed. "Not all Ghost-types! Only the ones that have telekinetic abilities can do it." It was his turn to roll his eyes. "Sudowoodo looks like a tree, yes, but you said it was a tree. Also, how did that not make sense? I was describing a Pokémon that controls trees, kills people by trapping them in forests, and turns them into its pre-evolution. It is a real Pokémon."

"Are you blind?" Grima asked, facing Bane but pointing to his right. "The tree that looks like a skeletal hand, RIGHT THERE, is moving. Whatever could be causing it?" he asked sarcastically.

The tree began to slowly wave in a gesture that meant to come closer.
(See the Pokémon episode Ghoul Daze for the precise gesture.)

Bane had shifted her attention back towards where she thought the beacon was and didnt see the tree.

(That was the best episode.)

Suddenly, from the ground shot a giant creature that appeared to be a skeletal monster made of trees. It stomped over to Bane and Grima - er, appeared to stomp, but noticeably never left the ground and instead merely extended its legs - and grabbed the former, lifting her into the air and staring her down.
"Told you it was real," Grima said calmly.

"Yes yes, your right congrats" Bane grumbled, attempting to kick the giant tree as her arms where pinned to her sides.

The skeletal monster reached for Grima, who immediately prepared a Night Daze. He caused it to explode as soon as the monster reached for him, blowing its hand to bits. The hand grew back immediately. "Alright, then. It seems that this is actually a problem," Grima decided. He darted away from the monster before using a Night Daze to destroy the arm connected to the hand that held Bane. The hand fell open. "I don't recommend trying to do fight it, as it doesn't seem to feel pain, and its limbs just regrow," Grima pointed out. "That leaves one thing: RUN!"

Ryu continued to wander around the forest in search of Rythim. The bird Pokémon once again flew overhead, freezing several of the surrounding trees in an instant. Ryu noticed a coat of ice on his back, making it much more stiff. He tried to shatter it so he could walk more easily, but ended up cutting himself on the ice when he succeeded.

Bane dropped to the ground and started running away from the tree monster, charging a shadow ball as she went. She launched it at the center of the monster as it got to big for her to handle.

The top half of the monster was ripped off, but the lower half grew in a way that reconnected it.
As Grima ran, the trees of the forest bent around him in a way that created a thick wall with holes large enough for a Caterpie to get through but far too small for any Gijinka in the competition. The moment he used Night Daze to blow them away, they regrew.

"Go over!" Bane shouted, launching herself up the wall using the capterpie sized holes as foot and hand holds. The trees seemed to keep growing upwards as she went.
