Upon learning that the Contests were Tough today, Ryu decided that he would instead spend some time making Poffins; he was never very good at appealing in this type.
He still decided to watch the Contest after he finished making a few Sweet Poffins, so he hurried to the kitchen so he could make them in time to watch.

Bane found her way out of the maze that was the back areas of the battle building, Really why was it even this large?, and decided to watch a contest. She hurried to the contest hall and floated above the audience to get a better view.

Rythim sat in the crowd to watch the contest as she munched on some berries she had brought.

After a moment of nothing being on the stage, the silhouette of a Zoroark Gijinka faded into view. Grima's eyes glowed bright red, contrasting with the shadows that caused him to appear pitch-black. He used Illusion to create several more silhouettes, and then began to display his strength as he launched attacks in various directions, his clones mimicking him. As the finale, he eliminated the clones one by one and revealed himself, and then rapidly ran in circles to create speed-generated afterimages: though it wasn't really Double Team, it was almost exactly the same. He abruptly stopped, making the afterimages cease to exist, and took a bow before vanishing into a burst of shadows.

Bane clapped with the crowd below. It was easier to appreciate the typical grace in appeal rounds when watching from the crowd.

Next up was a Machoke Gijinka. He used a variety of Fighting-type moves that resulted in a karate form. He executed the moves with surprising speed and grace, with no hesitation between each one, and received a lot of praise from the judges.

Bane grinned, for she had entered the contest a while ago! She had been above the crowd to watch everyone else though as she was going last. She floated down while surrounded by a few rather oversized shadowballs as the machop left the stage. She than allowed them to burst before using a series of Will o wisps, Shadow balls and a single Icy Wind. All of the attacks had an extra bit of power behind them as Bane focused her attacks. She than floated upwards and dropped down with a sucker punch, shadow claw combo. She than bowed before leaving the stage and heading back with the rest of the participants.

"It is rather similar to the reason for which you bow before entering battle," Grima said. "Like Ghost-types, Dark-types have a set of rules that they must follow. A Dark-type Pokémon is not allowed to use deception - or, in my case, illusions - to win fights against a foe who has bested him or her, or gained his or her respect."

"Right, that makes sense" Bane nodded. She looked up at the screen anouncing the next round and saw she was up against a Shuckle gijinka and Grima was up against a Eelektross gijinka. "ooo fuuuun" she said, frowning slightly.

"Wish me luck than, Shuckle Gijinkas are known for their High defense!" Bane said before heading onto the stage as she was in the first round. She bowed to the Shuckle gijinka and launched a shadow ball at it only to have it hit the shell. She ended up flinging her attacks at it repeatedly, only to have to watch as her attacks bounced off the gjijnka's shell.

I hope that she wins, as it would be a shame if we do not face each other in this Contest. Things do not look good, he thought.

Bane used screech, and the shuckle Gijinka popped out of the shell to cover his ears, during which time, Bane launched an array of shadow balls which quickly made the shuckle faint. She bowed again before returning to the rest of the participants.

Grima walked onto the stage and entered a fighting stance to prepare for his battle. Eelektross slithered onto the stage.

Grima began the fight with a well-charged Night Daze; he had begun charging it as soon as he walked on stage, but concealed it via Illusion. The move exploded in Eelektross' face, startling the eel. Grima used Illusion to look like he was staying still, but ran behind the Electric-type. As soon as it used Flamethrower, he made it look like his Illusion was incinerated, then allowed his foe and the audience to see him once more as he fired a Night Daze to the back of his opponent's head. Eelektross recoiled and turned around, but the Zoroark became invisible and started firing small Night Dazes while dashing around the battlefield, always attacking from behind his foe to prevent him from getting in a hit. He allowed the audience to see him, but Eelektross was baffled as to how his opponent kept turning invisible, obviously unaware of Zoroark's illusory abilities. The poor eel even thought he had really teleported at the beginning of the match! Sadly for Eelektross, and luckily for Grima, the Electric-type fainted very easily.

The dinosaur gijinka stomped its way to the stage, wiggling his tiny arms for absolutly no reason aside from looking silly.
