Fawn moves slightly in her sleep, dreaming of running through a
grassy plain in her wolf form. She's being chased, but not by an
enemy, by a friend. Her cousin, Emile, is chasing her. They are
playing tag, like they did before her mom died. She suddenly yelps
out in her sleep, making Ryder jump off his chair, his sword
clanging into the ground. He walks over to her, poking her lightly
until she wakes up, confused and irritated. "You yelped, just
making sure you're alright." Ryder says patting her awkwardly on
the head then going back to his chair.
Fawn stretches a bit and lays on her side, pulling her blanket up.
She sighs lightly, watching the unchanging wall. Ryder watches her
tiredly picking his sword back up and opening the blinds once
again, to get some moonlight in the dark room and to watch the
streets.
"Because," she said "I can't tell you" she said before disappearing
from sight. She spotted the window blinds open, and reappeared
right in front of it in the shape of a raven. She tapped on the
window with her beak
"Wh-" Ryder studders, looking outside to see a raven. Fawn sits up
in bed, rubbing her eyes a bit. "Let it in." Fawn mutters, yawning
tiredly. Ryder sighs, knowing he can't say no to her, and unlocks
the window, pushing it up for the bird to enter.
Ryder huffs and swings his sword a bit, watching the strange bird.
Fawn smiles and holds out her pointer finger, allowing the bird to
stand on it. "Ry! I think it waved to me!" Fawn says happily,
waving back at the bird. Ryder snorts and sits back farther in his
chair.
She claws, spreads her wings and hops off the sword onto the
ground, crowing angrily and growing to the size of an eagle,
sprouting spikes out of her wings and spine
Fawn yelps in surprise, and her body shakes as she takes her wolf
form, just as she always does when she is frightened. Ryder growls
low in his throat and holds up his sword in a defensive stance.
