The three all froze at the same time. Scrabble spat out Flint's ear and tried to untangle herself from her siblings. "Uh... r-right. L-Let's... go, guys-"

Flint tried to stand up at the same time and promptly sent Brisk rolling across the ground. "Sorry!" he yelped.

"Hey! You did that on purpose!"

"Did not."

Before it could escalate, Scrabble quickly intervened. "Come on guys, before she gets more mad at us."

The two exchanged glares and then sullenly followed Scrabble as she hurried up to her. "S-Sorry about that," she said breathlessly. "S-So, f-food?"

Flint and Brisk tripped over every remaining rock across. Scrabble went around them and resumed on the path.

Flint sank his teeth into Brisk's haunch and she gave a howl of rage before attacking his ear. Scrabble exhaled. "Okay, but you're n-not b-being m-much better, you... know..."
