Suddenly, Crystalline’s sharp hearing picked something up. However, it faded away and she dismissed it as a trick of the wind.

Pine watched the dragons looking at the village *I wonder when they'll go away* she thought grumpily.

Brimstone woke from her nap. She yawned "Pine, what's going on?" she said sleepily.

"Not here." Fern responded, overhearing. "She'll be in the Hives. I thought you might want to rest here for the night." She pointed a claw at the disappearing light between the leaves of the trees.

"Makes sense." Cobra said. "Well then, I guess we'll rest. Though, shouldn't we check with Queen Sequoia first?"

Brimstone flew down to the ground where the newcomers had landed. "New dragons!" she shouted excitedly.

Pine flew down after Brimstone. *Ugh, do I REALLY have to talk with them? I guess I do since Brimstone is.*

Crystalline blinked up at the chatting dragons sleepily. “You go do that. I’m going to sleep here so I can- uh- catch up on my rest- and- get stronger and- er- stuff like thaaaattttttt...” She closed her eyes and gracefully flopped onto the ground, snoring.

A cloud slowly drifted past the sun and the sudden cold woke Crystalline. A cold wind began to blow and her acute hearing picked up the strange sound once again. No longer drowsy from the sunshine, Crystalline realised what it was. *A dragon is in danger!*

Mantidfly stared uncertainly at the plant in front of her. She had been assigned to guard the Poison Jungle and NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, but the plant oozing in front of her was just ASKING to be touched. A nice smell wafted towards her, and she leaned forward, sniffing, and toppled, headfirst, into the oversized Pitcher Plant.

Ignoring the cries of her companions (are they my friends?), Crystalline raced into the jungle to follow the sound of screaming.

Mantidfly shivered with disgust at the slime covering her body. She tried to fly out of the plant, but spines on its walls pointed downwards, preventing her from escaping. With horror, Mantidfly realised that she couldn’t feel her tail! The goo in the Pitcher was rising, trying to drown her.
Crystalline entered a clearing surrounded by Pitcher Plants. The roaring was loudest here. “Hello?” She called.

“Hello?”
A dragon was nearby! Mantidfly waved the only part of her body she could still control, her right talon, in the air.

Cobra raced after Crystalline as fast as she could.

Brimstone flew after the new dragons her small body allowing her to be able to navigate easily.

Pine took off after Brimsone to make sure she didn't get hurt. She was like a mother to Brimstone since her mother passed.

Cobra landed next to Crystalline. "What do we do now? I don't want to use my power..."

Brimstone flew towards where the dragon was trapped. "Pine! There's a dragon stuck!"

Pine landed next to the pitcher plant. "Move away." she told the other dragons. She started to talk to the plant. (Hivewing tastes bad you know. I've tried one...) (she hasn't) The plant (after a little more talking) finally spit the Hivewing out. *A dragonet? I didn't know Hivewings were THAT bad*

Mantidfly felt nothing. It was all dark inside her captor. Suddenly, she saw light, and heard the wind. She watched her surroundings change from a flesh-coloured magenta to a blur of colour to the grass beneath her and pitcher plants all around. It took her a while to process this. Finally, she realised, *I’m free!*

Crystalline watched as the yellow and black dragon catapulted across the clearing to land on a patch of grass. She rushed to their side and realised it was a dragonet. They were limp and unmoving, although their eyes were open. “Is it too late?” she wondered aloud.

Cobra ran over to the other dragon to make sure if they were OK.

Pine just stood there and watched the unmoving Hivewing.

Brimstone rushed over to see if she could help.

Abyss woke from her nap. She noticed that Permafrost was still asleep and that Crystalline weren't here *huh* she thought *that's odd. I'm too tired to care though.*

Brimstone helped Cobra position the Hivewing so she wouldn't fall off. "Hopefully a healer will take a look at her"

As they brought the Hivewing back to the village Cobra thought about why the plants were so deadly...

Pine led the way to the Healer hut.

Brimstone wanted to know why so many dragons got eaten by pitcher plants.

The feeling was beginning to come back to Mantidfly’s body. She managed to lift her head and look at the dragons around her. “Uuuuhhhhh...” was all she could say.
