The zombie staggered looking at her before slamming her in the head and kicking her back.

"Pull back! Pull back! This area is too full of zombies and we will be boxed in soon!" Matt yelled before all the phones rang in unison.

Axel snapped back to focus, amazing to find out all he had missed. "Ack, alright, lets go!" He started following, trying to scan everyone for injuries. "Wait, have we lost someone, is anyone hurt?" He asked, a little frantic.

"And if we leave him here then his chances will be minuscule compared to ours." Axel snapped, before continuing only loud enough that Matt could hear. "look, i'm a healer, I can keep a small group going long enough to find him." Axel admitted, slamming the base of his staff into a zombies chest, pushing it away.

"Stop sighing at me. Send most of the people ahead, you were a captain did you not know to never leave a man behind." Axel snarled, whirling his staff around. "I dont know any of you well enough to trust you in combat on your own, but I cant heal myself. I'm demanding that someone come with me to find the madman of an archeologist who could get himself injured on his own." Axel cut himself off, he knew he could keep going but didnt want to lose his point.

"As a Captain I learned that sometimes I must let a soldier die to let other soldiers live. A rule for ships is, if there is flooding, if you are not out the door before the water fills to high we will close it. It sucks but in order for the majority to live sacrifices must be made. This is Jerry, he is some famous explorer who survived worse." Matt explained shaking in sorrow.

"As I said, send them away." Axel looked at Matt, and tried to put some calming power into his voice. "Thats how you died, you sacrificed yourself. But now, we are not on a ship. Nothing is flooding. We can handle this, you just have to trust me, I wont let you drown." He placed his hand upon Matts, trying to let his power flow into Matt, but it was difficult without any blood wounds to start it. "Rowan, we are all dead already, we cant die any more. But if I can save someone from suffering I will do it."

"Sacrifice of the whole ship." Axel amended. "Reagan, back me up, no man left behind?" He asked. Were Axel honest, he knew not much of the Army as a whole, just of the few war movies his friends would play while he was trying to study during college, and of the many homeless veterans that littered the streets of the city in which he had lived. Axel pushed that thought to the back of his mind for a later time, not wanting to have a melt down as he processed the whole being dead thing.
