A Dangerous Rebellion
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → A Dangerous RebellionMax had just made his way into the cabin, expecting someone to be there. Not cassie or Octavius, as they would be hunting. He wasn't expecting them. Knocking softly, he was surprised to see Vera, her eyes wide.
"Max! You are here! Good, Jason, come here. You both need to go. Right now," she said.
Jason was almost instantly by Vera's side. "What's wrong? What have you seen?" His blood suddenly ran cold at a terrible thought. "What's happened to them?"
"They were taken. We need to go. Now. I can take you both there...at least when they will be. I just need something from them. I can cast a spell and walk us through time and space...it'll take more then I've used in a while. And with the prayers sparse like they have been, it'll be harsh. We can't mess up," Vera muttered, going to find something from the pair. "The stupid trackers," she muttered after a moment, looking for where she'd put them.
"What?" Max asked, confused.
"What?" Jason had asked in tandem with Max. He followed Vera and handed her the tracker she had pulled from Octavius' neck. "Vera, what did you just say?"
"I'm sorry, there isn't really a lot of time to explain. But here's the short story," Vera said, snatching up the tracker she'd taken out of Cassie and taking the one from Jason. "I am no mortal. I'm a goddess. And I've been watching you both, hoping I could help somehow. I do not approve of this slavery mess mortals have gotten into. One of my kind must be pushing it. It's working up to something. All I know is something isn't right with your mates. They've been taken and we need to get them back, before something bad happens. I'll explain later, alright?" The woman dashed around, grabbing anything she thought she might need and putting it into a basket she pulled out of thin air.
"I...Cassie and Octavius are in trouble? I can't wrap my head around the goddess thing yet. But how do I help them?" Max asked, striding forward.
Jason simply followed Vera dumbly trying to take all of that in. His stomach was in knots, literally worried sick. "Y-yeah, what can we do?"
Vera froze, listening to something. She was hearing Octavius' cry for help. "...clever boy. Oh! You wonderfully clever boy!" She grinned turning to the door. "He's praying. I can hear and feel him praying. Things got so much easier! Come on, Octavius," she said, only slightly for the boys benefit. "I need you both to think about Cassie and Octavius. How it feels to have them in your arms and safe. And offering it in a prayer to me probably wouldn't hurt. I'm going to cast my circle and get this started. I have a pin point of where they are at. Just need to open the portal and take you both with me."
Max looked dumb struck but did as was asked. Cassie had to be okay...he was going to make things okay.
