Roxy's ear twitched at the contact, but she didn't pull away. She
leaned into rhe petting. The fur was velvety and warm. "Oh! I
haven't shifted in my sleep in years! I was dreaming of running.
Not to get away but for the fun of it. Must have felt safe enough
that I instintually changed to run better," she explained. "I
remember my mom reading me the three little bears. That night, I
accidentily shifted into a bear cub and couldn't change back.
Terrified, I hid in her laundry basket. It was snug, safe, and
smelled like her. I was too embaressed and afraid to go downstairs
and wake her. But when she found me, she scooped me up and talked
me down. I stopped shifting in my sleep after she died...until
now." As she spoke, Roxy shifted her features back to normal.
