Elvira chuckled and leaned against the counter blocking Roxy's view of the amount due. "Oh but girlie, you got the last meal," She grinned and stepped forwards so her face was a few inches from Roxy's. "I've got this one," She wasn't being threatening, it was meant more as a mind game. Invading Roxy's space to distract her enough so that she'd be a bit shellshocked so she could pay during the fallout.

Roxy wasn't shocked however. Spent her nights getting in peoples faces. Not to mention growing up had trained her to never back down. She smirked, tilting her head ever so slightly closer. "Oh? And you'd be against splitting it, aren't you?" she asked, leaning closer still to see past Evira to check out the total pay. "Whoever gets to pay, I just want to say how cute you two are. I wish my boyfriend and I had such cute fights over paying for snacks," the cashier giggled, finishing bagging the last item and setting it on the counter. "It'll be $19. 65."

Elvira's stomach flip-flopped as Roxy retaliated and a huge blush spread across her face as the cashier made her comment. "W-we can split this one, but the next one is mine." She took a step back knowing when she's beaten at her own game. She handed the cashier a $10 and stepped over to grab the bags. She wasn't thinking about a response to the cashier about them being a couple, she was still thinking about them looking like a couple.

Roxy was shocked by the cashiers comment and blushed as she handed he a ten dollar bill as well. "Oh, um...thank you. We aren't actually dating. We're roommates but I feel like I've known her forever," Roxy babbled. They looked like a couple? Elvira was very attractive, that was for sure. But...was Roxy starting to fall for her? Glancing over at the other girl was all it too to confirm to herself that yeah, she had started to fall.

Elvira walked over to the door and glanced back and met Roxy's glance making her blush darken. Come on, you know this is a bad idea, a very bad idea, you know this... Getting attached is the worst thing you can do... What if you have to move again? What if there's an accident? Oh hell... What if there IS an accident... No, I've gotten better. There won't be an accident. I won't have to move, She waited outside for Roxy as she tried to figure herself and the situation out.

What had happened? Had she scared her off? Had Roxy said the wrong thing? The blonde grabbed a bag and followed Elvira out. Matching her stride, she tried to figure out what to say. "...in there...I-I didn't say anything bad, did I?" she asked, chancing a glance up at her. Maybe Elvira wasn't into this sort of thing. She could have overstepped her bounds.

Elvira shook her head furiously. "No, no, no, not you, nothing you said, it's, it's just uh..." She stumbled over her words as she tried to explain things before she stopped and took a deep breath letting it out in a huge sigh. "Growing up constantly on the move made some things hard to deal with," She resumed walking beside Roxy. "Getting attached for example, I'd make friends and stuff, but they could never last because I'd always have to move eventually... So the thought of serious attachment is, well," She didn't want to say scary or uncomfortable, and looking over at Roxy she realized she was cute, and that she did have feelings for her, and not just fling-type feelings...

"I understand that. I've desperately tried to hang onto friends. I've tried to make things work. But they rarely do. Now that I'm here. Now that I make my own choices, I have settled down here. Not just for college but to try to find my dads. They might be here somewhere. I want to know why they left me. I want to know why they haven't come try to find me," Roxy said, slowly changing the subject. Yes, she liked Elvira. But she didn't want to pressure her into anything. They were roommates. She didn't want to scare her off. Or make her uncomfortable. "Kind of every orphan's dream. Who am I? Where did I come from? Why did they leave me?" Roxy said with a sad smile. Then she blushed before adding, "I-I actually thought maybe they were some of the big name hero's who aren't really heard from anymore. Maybe that's why they had to give me up. Because it wasn't safe. But the thing is, I have dad's. Plural. So if they had a kid, then some woman had to be involved. Men can't conceive on their own. So they knew what they were getting into if they had me. So it clearly isn't a hero."

Why would her fathers be heroes? That thought was quickly pushed aside as she put together the idea that it was just Roxy trying to come up with an answer among countless other options. Elvira stopped walking, holding Roxy's hand firmly. "As long as I'm here, even if it's just a month, I'll help you look for your fathers." She said with a serious tone, her face matching her voice. She chuckled slightly and smiled, pulling her into a gentle hug. "And when I find your fathers I'll give them a piece of my mind for leaving you. However, if they hadn't I never would have met you." In those moments she realized she had a reason she wanted to stay. She had something, someone, she wanted to keep with her, to protect.

Roxy hugged her back tightly. "Thank you, El. I reeally hope you are here, or at the least, in my life, for more then a month. You re amazing! As for my dads, we definitely will give them a piece of our mind. But I m glad I got to meet you. You are...so unlike anyone I havewhavew ever known in the best way. Thank you.pulling back just enough to look her in the eye, Roxy added, "And you can not level until you take me dumpster diving and we get to cosplay! It'll be so much fun!"

Elvira smiled broadly planning to figure out what she'd do and where to go from here with her emotions. "No need to thank me," She chuckled and held Roxy's hand as she started walking again. "And I swear I won't leave until we've done both of those things. It should be a ton of fun!" She clenched her jaw slightly as she really began to feel the stiffness of her injury coming through.

"I agree! Let's go get your meds. Did you bring the script with you?" Roxy asked, holding her hand as she walked with her. She noticed the way Elvira looked in pain. "Still doing okay?"

"It's in my purse." Elvira glanced over and met Roxy's eyes with a smile. "I'm still okay, I'll let you know when I'm not." She chuckled softly. "I'm not really used to having someone worry about me."

"Well, you're important. Someone should worry after you. Even if it's just me. And I will from not on. It might not have said so when you signed up to be my roommate but I am going to worry about you," Roxy told her, squeezing her hand.

Elvira gently squeezed Roxy's hand in return. "I think I might have seen something about that in one of the sub-clauses." She giggled. "Nah, I'm not that important, but I really appreciate the sentiment." She planned on doing her part in caring for Roxy. She didn't want her to fall ill or anything like that, but if Roxy did get sick, El would definitely be making late night runs to get soup and medicines.

"Oh good. And I'm glad," she laughed, opening the door to the little drug store. Roxy was happy to have someone so wonderful around. They'd have some great adventures and maybe, just maybe find her dads. And some happiness if what they had progressed.

Elvira walked up to the counter a smile on her face as she pulled out her prescription and handed it to the man behind the counter. As he went into the back room she pulled out her wallet and out of that her I.D. and handed it to him to check before glancing to Roxy. "Anything you need? Meds or candy?"

Roxy shook her head. "Nope. Thank you though. I have some stored away at the house. Candy that is. Just over the counter stuff in the cabinets as far as medicine goes."

Elvira nodded and payed for the meds and held out her arm for Roxy to take so they could head back to the apartment. "Any ideas on dinner? We could get some takeout."

"Oh, take out sounds really good. What did you have in mind?" Roxy asked, slipping her arm into Elvira's as they set off for the apartment. She was clearly happy to be on El's arm, even if she was trying her best not to scar off the girl with romantic feelings so soon after meeting her.
