Panda Begins; An Origin Story.

Beware This Isn't A Fairytale & There's No Happy Ending.

Show hidden content

I was brought into this world January 25th 1992 at 11:55PM. My father was told his swimmer count was too low that he would never have a child and after my brother my mother was told she probably wouldn't have another child either. (She thought I was a kidney infection. SURPRISE!!) So here I am such a "miracle" child, 1 in a million. My dad's family was in his ear about how I couldn't be his considering... So my mom considered adoption. Honestly... I wish she would have followed through... But I guess my dad went to the hospital after I was born, saw me and knew. I mean... We were absolute twins, there was no denying and my mom isn't that type... Anyway... I became everything to that man and that man was EVERYTHING to me. You wouldn't find one of us without the other unless I was at school. Even then... I'd have intuition that something was wrong and I'd go to the office to call home and they would tell me no since it was X amount of times in X amount of time so I'd sit and cry until they let me and indeed, he would be sick or something else had happened... He was my best friend, my father, honestly kind of even my mother as well... He was disabled so he couldn't work so my mom did... Plus I was so far up my dad's butt I wouldn't let her help me with anything anyway. But he was the one who taught me about everything including my period! He literally was my world and I was his. I honestly can't tell you what month exactly because I have blocked so much out (unfortunately even the good memories, like how his voice sounds or a lot of things we did.) but he got sick... Went to urgent care and they said he had pneumonia... Didn't get better... I don't remember exactly how the rest worked out but we found out it was lung cancer, (yes he was a heavy smoker and had been for many, many years.) they told us there was nothing they could do, that his lungs were like swiss cheese and he had 6 months to live. I remember that was in June of 2000. (Also the month he was born. Happy Birthday, you have lung cancer!) I was devastated... But I will always, always remember what that doctor said to me when he bent down to my level and told me, "it's not about quantity it's about quality." I was 8 years old. He was okay... For a couple of months... But I got to watch him slowly and painfully suffer until his last breath on December 30th 2000. He was trying to hold on until my birthday... And the only reason he finally let go was because my grandma whispered in his ear, "I'll take care of her, you can go." I still feel completely guilty for it, that he suffered even longer just for me... Anyway... Right after he died, literally right after I ran to my room placed myself against the door so nobody could get in and cried for the first and only time for many, many years. I had to pull it together because my mom was threatening suicide, (he really was her once in a lifetime love) my brother actually tried (he's my half brother - different dad's but my dad raised him and made him the man he is today) my grandma was super sad because she lost her best friend as well... I'll explain that... My mom was born in 1964, my grandma in 1941. My father was born in 1945. So there was an 18 year age difference between my mother and father he died at age 55 (this is why age is always just a number to me - when appropriate). Yes my father was old enough to be my grandpa lol.. But since they were so close in age (grandma and dad) they were really tight, she wasn't holding up too great either. So I had to be the rock. I took care of everyone else at 8/9 years old. It only got worse. My mother went off the rails... Instead of being a drug addict she was addicted to bingo. Yes you read that correctly, bingo. She would go to "early bird" and "late night" and regular hour bingo. There were times I'd wake up alone and times I'd go to bed alone. Aside from my brother if he wasn't gone. (There's a 7 year age difference.) My brother when he was home was physically abusive and there was one time that it was another nature... Thankfully it wasn't entirely traumatizing, but it's still SM. My brother and I don't have the best relationship period due to his anger issues and physical abuse problems with me in the past. I'll have a good one for you in a bit. Anywho... I remember one time I literally grabbed onto her legs and begged her not to leave. She just pushed me aside and left. So not only did I lose my father I lost my mother. My grandma tended to go with her since she also had an addiction and I imagine at the time it helped her too... So I was completely abandoned. I had nobody. My mother ended up losing the house he died in which is right across the street from my grandma's house where I've spent the majority of my entire life living in. I was brought home there from the hospital and so was my son years later. It's a hell of a reminder to look over at that house every day and see the window he died under... But you get used to it... Moving on... Living with my grandma and grandpa... Yes my grandma has always kept her promise... To an extent. She always made sure I had my new school clothes, supplies, field trips paid for, anything that had to do with money. But when it came to availability... I could talk and neither of them would even hear me... I was constantly just talking to the wall. Never felt heard. And of course my grandfather... Well, because I was young I knew NOTHING despite it being quite the opposite. My grandpa was physically abused as a child, once beaten within inches of his life... He was a repeater. He beat all 3 of my uncles until my grandma finally stood up to him but he still always had that mean verbal abuse. I remember at like age 10 (?) there was some kind of conversation about something in the freezer and I remember him saying, "that's why you're fat. Yes, I was always a chubby kid until I was about 16, but that happened in a very unhealthy way. (Drugs and alcohol.) Anyway... He ended up with Alzheimer's and actually did pretty well for quite a few years except for the time he threatened to slit my throat because I had the house phone, when there were two of them in the house - he had forgotten... When I was 11 I started cutting. I couldn't take things anymore. My cutting days lasted until November 24th 2008. I'll explain... Freshman year of highschool I met these two amazing boys who became my best friends. We were literally inseparable. You'd never see one of us without at least one of us. Well.. since we were all super close and I absolutely love animals I had fallen in love with one friend's dog, her name was Annie, she was a black lab. Well that day I was completely freaking out just super stressed and wanted to go spend time with her and he was being a jerk. The other friend and I had skipped school that day so I asked him to pick us up when he got out to take us to his house and he said he wasn't coming in my direction and then he dropped my neighbor off across the street... I threw the phone in a rage with tears just spilling, went to the bathroom grabbed a razor and totally disassociated. I hadn't realized what I'd done until it had been done. Well we had to call my grandma get her home so she could take us to urgent care. I ended up with 6 stitches that day. We had barely been home an hour when he called and told us that someone purposely hit her with their car and didn't stop, she was gone. I've always been funny that way about knowing things without knowing... Anyway... A little while after I got a tattoo of her name and her dates and the title of the song that would play EVERY SINGLE TIME we passed his house whether it was radio or CD it always happened (Angels On The Moon.) right above the scar from that day. (I'll link it along with the song that reminds me of my dad and makes me cry every single time I hear it.) There were very hurtful moments in that friendship but I'm not going to tell every hurtful story so moving on... From age 13 to majority of age 19 I was with only girls. Until November 21st 2011 I got with the very first man and the one who would become my husband and father of my child. We were together 1 month almost exactly when I got pregnant... Up until then I hadn't even looked at his *ahem* anatomy because it was still gross to me. (This is why I identify as Pan because I loved him for who he was and not what was in his pants despite the fact I only liked women and had only been with women.) So I was just kind of thrown into a huge whirlwind pretty fricken fast. The relationship didn't go so great... He had anger issues which I knew of before... That's my bad... But he was also emotionally abusive about how I was a horrible wife and mother and it sent me into a spiral of nothing but sleeping and trying to kill myself. We married May 21st 2013 and he left me April 5th 2017 for a "trial separation" which was a joke because he meant to leave me entirely the whole time... I gave him everything when he left, the car, the TV, the bed... Our son... Well he finally decided to end it fully December 2017 and that was the last time I tried to kill myself. I nearly succeeded had I not thrown up on my sleep.. I wouldn't be here today. Anyway... He told me to, "go join a dating site so you'll get off my *junk*" So I did.. I met one guy who I thought things were going to be something but after something happened he ghosted. Ended up going back to his ex so yay! That's when I started self harming again only burning this time. It was bad.. I tried one more time and I met the man I'm with now. We've been together 5 years as of April 20th 2023. He's an alcoholic, currently sober... But when he was drinking... The emotional abuse was out of this fricken world. Even his mom would tell me that the way he treats me makes her sick. He's better. It's not perfect, but what relationship/person is? I'm not easy to get along with I promise you that. Here's some things I left out during parts of the story:

• While pregnant my brother, his baby momma and my nephew were also living with at my grandma's with my husband and I. Well my nephew kept hitting me in the stomach and I said do it again and I'll beat your butt. Well my brother decided it wasn't okay and told me if I touched his son then he was going to beat me up. While pregnant! So when my husband found out (should also say he's just a few months older than my brother but definitely has way more muscles) he left work early came home and beat the crap out of him.

• At one point my mom literally signed on a piece of paper that she was giving me away to my grandma. (There's so many more stories here.)

• I've made it pretty clear I'm sure, if you've payed attention anyway... That Chester Bennington is my hero. Going what I went through at 8 years old and finding out I wasn't the only one who felt that way... It was amazing. Linkin Park got me through the toughest times in my life. Well as I said my husband left me in April 2017.. I'm still dealing with everything... I wake up one morning in July and it's all over the news on the Internet that Chester had committed suicide... I remember thinking it had to be one of those fake things that always went around Facebook back then. But it wasn't... I literally sat there and thought, "if my hero can't make it, how the duck can I?!" (The duck was actually on purpose for once! 🤣) Anyway... He meant that much to me that even though my husband was done with me as soon as he saw he called to see if I was okay. So hopefully this clears up why my giveaway is so important to me.

• I know not everyone listens to heavy metal but there was a point in my life that Avenged Sevenfold was very big. The music calmed me down so much when I was a teen who was filled with more anger than I knew what to do with... Well I had also wanted a cat so bad since I'd never really had one... Well I'd been looking around and I found this adorable little thing on Craigslist... He was found at 10 weeks old all alone in the snow, the daughter couldn't keep him at the apartment complex she found him in and the parents couldn't keep him because they already had a cat who wasn't socialized... The day news broke about The Rev dying was the day we went to get him. So I named him Reverend Tholomew Plague. Obviously, Rev for short. He was my first cat baby and he was even though I had so many dogs... Like my first child.. (I also later on named one of my dogs Synyster Vengeance staying with the theme.) Anywho... I'm sitting here with my boyfriend and I get a call from my brother so I'm like.. WTF... He's like are you sitting down? Yes.. why? Grandma told me to call you because she thought it would be easier... Someone killed my cat!! My baby!! Who I had from 10 weeks old in December 29th 2009 until November 5th 2018. And let me tell you... That sound they tell you moms make when they lose their child... It's real. And of course they just left him in the cold... Dug a hole and he was stiff.. I went to put him in and he didn't fit... So that made it even better. Especially since the last time I saw him I promised him I'd be back for him. (I've lived with my BF basically since we got together.)

• I was forced to give up my dog that was my absolute shadow and my son's "sissy" he literally called her sissy.. thanks to my grandma choosing someone else over me. Do you know how hard it is to take your dog to the shelter and watch her walk away with these people not knowing she will never see you again?

• Legally I'm still married so there is no custody order of any sort but he has been the primary parent for this entire time. He makes it absolutely impossible to see my son. I'm not welcome in his home, he's not allowed at my grandma's and he made damn sure he wasn't allowed at my boyfriend's where I call home. (He got a restraining order against him... Which nearly broke us up because we hadn't even been together a year yet when my ex did this.) The only place my son is allowed is my brother's house. And well... As I've said not the best relationship. And the one between his wife and I is even worse.

• My son has expressed multiple times that he wants to live with me but the last time my ex told him that if he comes to live with me he would never see his ferret again and that is his baby. WTF.

• His anger issues seriously exploded one day and it ended with my grandma being pushed into the fridge, my mom hitting him with a frying pan and then her spending the night in jail.

• Even though things with my grandma weren't always perfect, she's been my everything, always the one I could count on, the one always bailing me out even though half the time she didn't pay attention to when I was home or gone... SMH... But she's 81 now and in November last year she fell getting out of the shower, got sent to the 💩 hospital and they messed her up. Bad. She has that paper thin skin and they ripped her back... Well it turned into a full blown infection that's all the way to her spine, won't clear up and now she's going in for surgery April 19th 2023... She has a spinal pain stimulator in her back that's been there for years and it stopped working years ago... But it has become part of the infection... The surgery is to remove it however it's wrapped around her spinal cord... So 1. It's a long time under anesthesia for an 81 year old but I'm less worried there... She's beat so many different cancers including lung even though she's never smoked... She's beat sepsis that really took her near death... But where I'm scared is 2. She could end up paralyzed. Just in general the thought of losing her is way more than I can handle. I mean I know it will happen, it's inevitable honestly... But I'll never be ready. She's always been the one I can count on.

• When I was 25 my hip started to really hurt so I went to the urgent care, they took x-rays and they said, nah that's just muscles, don't see anything wrong but if it doesn't get better go see this orthopedic doctor. Well.. didn't get better, had to drive myself because yeah, husband left me.. Doctor takes x-rays then I go and sit in a room and wait... While I'm sitting there I'm looking at the little models and posters on the wall of the hip and I make a joke in my head... Wouldn't it be funny if I needed a hip replacement? Literally joking... He comes in puts the x-rays up and says see this? I'm like yeah, sure, even though obviously I had no clue since I'm not a radiologist... He tells me I have bilateral avascular necrosis and I need a double hip replacement. I cried the entire way home. I had to fight for 5 years in agonizing pain to find someone who would do the surgery on my left hip. Everyone said I was too young for the surgery. My hip was already collapsing, had osteoporosis, bone spurs and the cartilage was gone. Finally found one and I had a full hip replacement on December 13th 2021. My leg is still ducked up. Still constantly hurts but they don't give me pain meds anymore because well the x-rays look great! So, "I know you think you're in pain..." No MF I am in pain. It clicks when I walk it pops in and out when I just stand and lift my leg, you know like walking in place. The tendon constantly rolls on it and hurts. Still can't lay on my left side long to sleep. Still hurts to sit Indian style which is how I'm most comfortable... And I'm genuinely screwed because I can't take NSAIDs (Motrin, Alieve, Advil etc.) because I have such a messed up stomach and colon so that leaves me to take Tylenol which doesn't even help my headaches... I am on disability (SSI) because of this. Eventually the right one needs to be replaced but it's not really bothering me so I'm completely avoiding the surgery for as long as possible. (If anyone is interested in pics of my bionic hip and/or my leg after surgery I can post those too.

• I still constantly suffer from suicidal ideation but I don't act on anything because I made a promise to my son for one and for two my boyfriend was the only one who cared enough to even ask me not to. Things with him can be so horrible I hate him at times but he is a blessing and IDK what I'd do without him.

• All of this has caused the following diagnoses: Anxiety W/ Panic Attacks, PTSD, Bi Polar Type II and Borderline Personality Disorder. It's a trip. 😒

• Wow.. apparently April/November & December are just 💩 months in my life.

I'll add more later if I feel like it.. little emotional now... I'll link both songs below the spoiler. If you made it this far, congrats! Love you. 🧡
