Shadow smelled someone cooking in the distance. His stomach rumbled, he lazily got up and went to hunt some food for Luna. On his way out he noticed a pack with instructions to care for Luna's wounds. He brought the bag inside and walked into the forest.

Within a few hours Shadow was back in the den with a large rabbit. He looked at Luna and saw her wounds. He frowned at them. Seeing that she was hurt he went to cook supper. After supper was cooked he woke Luna up, and said 'after you eat I will apply the medicine to your wounds"

Shadow heard this but acted like he was asleep. He didn't want to hurt Luna by talking about it. In truth it hurt him too, because he was going to lose any children he sired.
