Forum-Index → Fan Clubs → Inactive Clubs → FNaF FanclubWith my Vincent as the lead singer, the children as the backups-and so forth. So here's my analysis of the song's relevance to FNAF. Enjoy:
[Intro: Vincent murmurs this to himself]
Du du du du-du du du
Du du du du du-du du du
[Chorus: Vincent sings this alone]
"Some legends are told"
In reference to the story of the murders and hauntings at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.
"Some turn to dust or to gold"
Again, in reference to the story. (As well as a possible reference to the golden freddy suit and the fact that the pizzeria is failing)
"But you will remember me"
It's pretty hard to forget the scandalous murder case surrounding the pizzeria; as well as the name/appearance of the man who'd killed the children.
"Remember me for centuries"
Now this could be seen as Vincent referring to his mummified corpse inside of Springtrap, stalking the night watch after so many years.
And just one mistake
Is all it will take
I choose to see this as Vincent regretfully recalling his murdering of the children. And for my Vincent, especially; not taking his anti-schizophrenic medication which would thus lead to his murdering of the children.
We'll go down in history
Vincent and the children possessing the animatronics both would surely make news/history considering the violent murders of both the children and the various nightguards.
"Remember me for centuries
Hey, hey, hey (the children could be saying this one line)
Remember me for centuries"
"Mummified my teenage dreams"
My version of Vincent had dreams and hopes for a bright and happy future with a good job and eventually settling down with a family. Now, those things seem to be unreachable considering his record and history. It's very hard for society to accept someone who's been deemed as a child murderer; let alone have someone fall for him.
"No, it's nothing wrong with me"
This is what I perceive as Vincent being in denial of his own schizophrenic condition, insisting that as long as he has his medication, he's fine. The threat of insanity always looms over him, however, and it torments him.
"The kids are all wrong"
There are two scenarios that I take from this; one with the typical version of the children as being vengeful spirits and one with my version of the children who are unreadable in their feelings towards Vincent.
1.) The children portray him as being pure evil, a horrible creature who enjoyed murdering them; and they antagonize him to the point where he's no longer a human being. Granted, their memories of their deaths have darkened and become warped over time, thus they only see him as a monster. Vincent vehemently denies this and has even attempted to take his own life several times over to compensate for their deaths. He constantly visits their graves to never forget what he's done, but of course, the children will never be satisfied. Not until they've killed him themselves.
2.) My version of the children would be interpreted by Vincent as being either cold and distant towards him and refusing to accept his forgiveness. (Keep in mind that this is Vincent's view.)
"The story's all off"
Again, Vincent protesting against the cruel malice that people display him having when he killed the children. The newspapers and media portray him as an insane monster, and the enraged families would be more than happy to see him die.
"Heavy metal broke my heart"
This is something that could be loosely interpreted as Vincent making a reference to the Springtrap suit- as the spring locks of the suit mechanism most likely "broke" his heart. (Or rather pierced/punctured.)
"Come on, come on and let me in" (this could be sung by the possessed animatronics)
This could be the taunts made by the vengeful possessed animatronics who want to get their revenge on Vincent for his crimes.
"The bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints" [again sung by animatronics/children]
The bruises could be a reference to the self harm that Vincent does in order to atone for his actions. The animatronics would be aware of his self harm and in their vengeful hatred, they mock him for it, reminding him that the stain/ "fingerprints" of what he's done will never leave him.
"And this is supposed to match
The darkness that you felt"
Again, the animatronics/vengeful children taunting him by telling him that his suffering will never make up for the "pleasure" that they perceived him feeling when he killed them.
"I never meant for you to fix yourself" (Screamed at the animatronics by Vincent)
Now this is the pivotal point of the song in my opinion in it's relation to Vincent. My version of Vincent would've wanted the children to leave and rest in peace after their grisly deaths. But no, the fact that they live on and continue to both haunt him and reside inside the animatronics only serves to torment Vincent more. Knowing that they are still suffering and hurting others eats away at Vincent, and he feels even more guilt than before.
[Chorus]
[The children take over in this part, and Vincent becomes a backup singer to them]
"And I can't stop 'til the whole world knows my name"
'Cause I was only born inside my dreams
Until you die for me, as long as there's a light, my shadow's over you
'Cause I, I am the opposite of amnesia
This is the children's desire to have as many people know what happened to them as possible. They feel that if enough people know about what has happened to them/ feel what they felt upon their death, then they might find temporary satisfaction in their suffering.
And you're a cherry blossom
You're about to bloom
You look so pretty, but you're gone so soon
The acknowledging of the listener as a "cherry blossom", could be the enraged/possessed animatronics referring to the current night guard and cruelly hinting at their plans to end their life.
[Chorus]
[Bridge: Both Vincent (as Springtrap) and the Children would sing this]
We've been here forever
And here's the frozen proof
The "frozen proof" is in reference to the FNAF 3 horror attraction establishment with its memorabilia and the Springtrap suit with Vincent's mummified corpse still inside.
I could scream forever
We are the poisoned youth (The children solely sing this line)
[Chorus]
We'll go down in history
Remember me for centuries
is going to spam stuuf!!!!!!!
