Kovu glances away with a small nod. ''Yeah, I am just angry he would say that. Not like you are a terrible person or anything at all.'' He glared a bit off towards Hunter before looking back at Rose. ''Will your father believe me or does he like Hunter?" He asked seeing his cousin approach Stryke asking what she could do as a healer preparing.

Kovu listened to Rose and was glad to hear that she would have equal power to whoever she married. It seemed rather lopsided with how her father ran the village as Roda barely seemed to care. Therefore, she wouldn’t voice her opinion as she just didn’t care what happened to the village as long as it didn’t affect her personally. He then looked off at the feuding two and was rather surprised to hear the words Cyrus was speaking and almost offended by what Hunter muttered. He looked back at Rose, shaking his head.”Wow.” He whispered shocked.

Kovu smiled at Rose and ran his hand through his hair. “You do have a lot on your plate. Far more than anyone here in the village.” He smiled softly. “If you do go out ‘hunting’ dragons at least tell me so I can come up with a backstory over that. If Hunter doesn’t want to help you, then I can offer my assistance.” He bowed his head. “You are kind of like the future leader, just a little less power I guess. I am not really sure since your mother barely shows her face. Does she have the same power as your dad?” He asked. “Just no title.”

Kovu sighed with a small nod towards Rose.”Of course, I can cover for you. I will say you were out raspberry picking and your horse thought some bear was coming through the woods. When all it was just a deer.” He smiled weakly over at her.”How about that? I can make it more detailed if your parents ask, you just have to follow along. No word of dragon can be uttered by a single person now. Saves you from whatever fiery temper your mom may have.”

Kovu seemed rather skeptical on her thought and shook his head.”I guess I just have to tell you to be careful and that you would be the only one to think that. I don’t know another soul in the village who doesn’t fear or hate dragons.” He nodded. “I personally believe they cannot be trusted and on purpose try to starve us or hurt us.” He looks ahead.”They just have powers to use against us. I bet they feel the same way we do and it would be better if you stayed safe... by being away from them. I know if your parents found out you were trying to study the dragons, all heck will break loose!” He was trying to persuade Rose out of her thoughts, he didn’t want her to make a fatal mistake like today could have ended up. He was truly worried she would get herself killed by even trying to learn about the dragons. “Farther away the safer you are. I would hate to hear a dragon killed you! What an irony filled death.”

Kona finally was coaxed out of bed hearing of the news about the dragon supposedly attacking the village. She was alarmed and hurried outside to see many people bascially setting up a protection system against any dragon. She watches as Roda goes among all the men she would want her daughter to marry and tell them of her proposed offer. While Stryke just helped set up catapults, or father rocks, something else than what his wife was doing.

Kovu looked at Rose confused.”Why? We do not know if they speak, they want to eat us and can’t be friendly... they’re dragons. I think it is a lost cause. If we were meant to be friends with the dragons, don’t you think we would already?” He looked over at her. He thought it was way too dangerous to even think of what she wished to do.

Kovu sighed as he slightly disagreed with her.”I understand the marriage part, but dragons are much different. If they attack us like last night, we have to retaliate. Maybe you can persuade your father to call off the marriage proposal and go against your mother if one is killed.” He nodded. “Could say you are engaged to someone, a close friend perhaps, then your parents can’t do anything. Don’t get married till you find the right person. Engagements can be forever.” He laughed a little.

Kovu wasn’t sure what to say, a few people as well seemly agreed that Hunter was going to be the next tribe leader. They knew nothing more and just figured because of the constant “being there for her” type thing. “Oh, I didn’t know that it was his father who was pushing it.” He sighed. “I am sure other parents must be the same and try to be your friend for favoritism.” He looked ahead on the path they were walking. “I just hope you find the right one. I have trust in you, but I suggest staying clear of my family. Besides Kona, I think you would like her as a friend. She is in a similar position, but it isn’t so stressful as yours of course.” He nodded. “Other than that, stay away from Clover Lane and Crismon Hill, my families reside in the village there.” He smiled.

Kovu walked alongside her and nodded a bit.”I couldn’t help it. I rather be the first one to tell you than the man standing before you demanding marriage.” He nodded sympathetically. “But you should give Hunter a chance. He is always helping you, always in the stables. I think he would be a good leader besides my dimwit cousin on my mom’s side. He tho is he should be the leader because he is all strong and better than everyone. He likes you a lot too. Unlike Hunter who I am sure actually likes you and doesn’t care about the leader position. Like your mother.”

Kovu had to look away from Rose, he couldn't look her straight in the eyes. ''He objected of course ad wanted you to know about this, likely so you could fight it with him...but your mother began to yell...say some things...and he went quiet.'' He sighed, glancing at her. ''He really didn't want to argue with her.''

Kalores walked in and examined the seemly brighter red cave that was soft and mud like. ''You enjoy odd caves, little Sarkany.''

Sarkany hopped down and enjoyed how malleable the ground was and the walls. ''I enjoy mud and clay...and this cave fits it perfectly!" She smiled.

Draig did not seem to like it and moved away to get a yak for the two.

Kovu looked over at Rose, actually surprised a bit she wanted her mother to leave. He looked ahead and sighed. ''She told everyone or will be telling everyone, that whoever kills a dragon or many dragons, will be your husband.''

Sarkany saw a cave that was reddish in tint and smiled. ''That one!" She pointed. ''I want that one!"

Kalores looked over at Draig before smiling a bit.'' It looks rather nice and another red cave I see. How about this one Draig?" She asked.

Draig sighed and nodded. ''That is fine, it will work for us.''

Kovu began away from Rose towards the village with a shaking head. ''Oh, do you really want to know what she thought of it? She called you foolish and would not allow your father to go after you. She came outside hearing about the attack and well, it isn't pretty to what she has on her mind. Forgive me, but I was eavesdropping, waiting to speak to your father. She wasn't exactly quiet either...Pretty sure she was trying to tell it to everyone while you were away.''

Ratholas saw where Sapphire put her yaks and quickly put the two he gathered from Draig. He decided to find a cave himself that suited him, even when he spent little time in one.

Draig was looking around for a perfect one as Sarkany was picky. She wanted one that matched her or was basically like the one she was born in.

Kovu crossed his arms as he didn't believe that Hunter would stick around her for no reason. He brushed that aside for a moment before sighing. ''All I know is that it went after our sheep or cattle last night. Would have killed the watch man and the guarding dogs just as easily if we didn't intervene. All dragons want to do is kill us and take our food. They cannot be trusted.''

Ratholas took the yaks right from Draig as he took off up the mountain. ''I will take these. Just make sure your family has a safe cave. The yaks will be on a perch for you to grab once you find the new home.'' He smiled towards Sarkany who wasn't excited to go. ''Don't you worry, hatchling. There is nothing to worry about.''

Draig growled at Ratholas before relenting, giving up on it. ''Thank you.'' He seemly hissed before him and his mate took off to a new cave. Ratholas didn't understand the cold greeting, he never understood what he did to Draig.

Kovu walked closer to Rose, shaking his head just listening to her. ''Hunter likes you, he is just trying to help.'' He muttered, glancing around for the dragon again in fear that it was still around. ''I can't imagine that the dragon would spare you after we injured a dragon ourselves.'' He murmured. ''The dragon must not have seen you or smelled you otherwise I think it would have killed you.'' He sighed, shaking his head. ''As we're trying to kill dragons now. You left before your father ordered everyone to stay in the village.''

Ratholas nodded to Fang. ''We will have a yak for you in a short moment. You just have to rest.'' He nodded backing up and taking off to Draig, who he didn't mind at all.

Draig just held the yaks while nudging Sarkany on Kalores' back. ''The humans have weapons that can injury you and or kill you, for being so young.'' He nodded, taking off to higher points of the mountain.

Kalores sighed as she followed after Draig. ''If Fang was just injured, then you could be killed. You are far too young to truly know the problems that we have had.''

Ratholas was at Fang’s side the whole time, without hesitation whatsoever. Even when he saw Draig go to his cave, not knowing if he heard the news.

Draig landed with the yaks, keeping both to himself only because Ratholas was with Fang. Jealousy ran deep when it came to that dragon. So, he decided to wait and move his family up the mountain like Fang was doing. “Kalores and Sarkany, we must relocate. Humans harmed Fang last night and Sapphire is worried of some attack.” He sighed. “We can eat once we find another cave higher up on the mountain.”

Sarkany looked down then around at their cave.”Fang was hurt?” She disliked hearing that. “But why do we have to move when humans are too weak to attack us?”

Kalores looked at Draig then at Sarkany with a sigh.”Young one...”

Kovu flinched and cowered hearing the roar that would scare anyone. Once she left with her prize, he hurried out to Rose.”What do you think you are doing?! You are not supposed to go anywhere near a dragon! You didn’t even hear what happened last night did you? Before you ran off and found this one!” He was furious as the situation was terrible. He was not fond of dragons after seeing the deaths of yaks.

Ratholas bowed his head with a smile at Fang. ''I would not miss an opportunity to help a wounded dragon. We can go as slow as you wish, at your pace. I also know that Kalores will help if we need another dragon.''

Kovu nearly went right over the neck of the stallion when he stopped, but slid off when he reared. He hit the ground hard and cringed, looking at the stallion before his eyes went wide at the dragon. He was never, ever that close to a dragon. He looked around for Rose, seeing a dead yak made him panic even more. The dragon was out for blood and Rose must have been hiding. He took cover behind a tree, searching for a glimpse of her.

Ratholas was rather angry to see the crimson, his blood ran colder than it already was. ''To caves higher up in the mountain...I know we are already far enough above, but we must go deeper into the mountain and higher. Only if you can make it.'' He sighed. ''If you cannot, I will try to negotiate with Sapphire to stay here a little longer till you...heal.'' He nodded. ''I do not want to push you.''

Draig stretched out his wings and lifted to the air with two yaks. ''Will do, Sapphire. Be careful now.'' He began to fly back to the caves with the food.

Stryke was rather worried about Rose and began to the stable to get his own horse. However, Roda stopped him. ''Do not bother. Let her return on her own. She needs to face her mistakes.'' She glared.

Kovu held tight, ever so worried about the Tribe Leader's daughter. He heard all that Roda said and really wished to tell her as well.

Draig picked up his dead yak and agreed. ''Yes, Sapphire, that would be a wonderful day when we can finally be at peace. I can carry one of your yaks for you as well. '' He then offered. ''You do not need this stress after all you have been through. Be careful being alone out here.'' He sighed. ''I rather you not be alone if the humans do plan anything. If you need anything, you will know where my cave is, and shall know the new location of course.'' Again he bowed his head.

Ratholas narrowed his eyes again to hear what else the humans have done. ''Interesting, thank you for pointing that out. We're actually moving because of them, as it appears they may be planning something.'' He sighed. ''We're moving farther up the mountain.''

Kovu grabbed a hold of the shire's mane when he came down from the rear, pulling himself onto his back. ''You horses are surely tall, let's go!" He commanded.

Draig smiled a bit when Sapphire joined him, he bowed his head in agreement. ''Never hurts to help another dragon or dragons in this case.'' He smiled before it disappeared when she spoke of his annoying mate and nuisance hatchling. ''I do not like hearing that Fang was harmed and I shall go move them right away. Do you think they're hunting us now? Now that they have blood again...?" He asked somewhat quietly as he didn't want to bring up her pain. He just wished to be at her side, much more than Ratholas. ''I am sorry for bringing it up, I just worry they would be after such a pretty dragon as yourself.''

Ratholas went to see Fang first, really it was his own anger against the humans that brought him to the black dragon's cave. ''Fang, are you alright?" He asked, landing at the entrance. ''Are the wounds terrible?"

Stryke sighed as he nodded to Roda. ''Right dear.'' He looked off towards the shire which alarmed him.

Kovu moved ahead now that Roda wasn't speaking. ''Sir, that horse is Rose's! She left the stables before I could tell her to stay in the village.'' He was equally alarmed. ''Something must be wrong, she could have fallen by accident.''

Roda shook her head towards Kovu and Stryke. ''What did I just say? She is foolish in her ways.'' Stryke ordered Kovu to get the stallion and follow him out after Rose. Kovu agreed and ran to the shire. ''Where is she? Where is she boy?''

Kovu shook his head as he watched Hunter for a few seconds before he left to tell Stryke. As he went to the tribe leader he was shocked to see his wife speaking to him. He didn't say a word as he stood aside while the two talked.

Roda spoke quietly and almost whispery like. She was rather pale looking and small compared to her husband who seemly towered over her. ''Whoever kills a dragon or more than one, should have our daughter's hand.'' She suggested quietly. ''We need a strong Tribe Leader and one that is able to kill a dragon is perfect.'' She nodded firmly.

Stryke wasn't really happy with the suggestion. ''I would have to run it b-.''

Roda glared towards him. ''She doesn't need to know anything. All she needs to know is that her future husband may be sooner known than she wishes. She does not have a choice in this matter and never shall. She will be foolish and pick someone who is weak, not capable of leading these people. You have to think of them after you leave, you must think of the other's lives.''

Ratholas sighed when she didn't even hint upon a war against the humans, in which he wishes to just end everything that way. ''Yes, Sapphire. Thank you.'' He took off back to the caves to warn everyone of their situation.

Kalores laid her head back down as Sarkany climbed over her neck and played with her tail. ''It will be rather joyful to hunt sheep myself.'' The little one smiled a toothy grin. Kalores shook her head. ''You just like their fluff, nothing more...why not a cow if you do? Humans have those and they're more tasty I would say. Otherwise, stay away from the humans. They will only kill you if they see you near their animals. They're forbidden and Sapphire makes that clear to protect us. We can hunt in the mountains or the forests, but we shall not hunt near the humans at all.'' She sighed. ''Your father is right, Sapphire would not permit it and for a good reason.''

Draig scanned the yak, flying silently before he landed with a thud on one. He killed it quickly and had to kill another for the others. Therefore he chased after the scattering herd to make another kill. He used his breath to cover everything in front of the herd and cause them to slide as soon as they hit rock faces.
