Regan couldn't see anything on the card. She looked up, staring blankly at the wall opposite to her in confusion. How did this work again? It had become such a routine to her last year, she had done it unconsciously. She needed a refresher.

Re-adjusting her back back straps over both shoulders, and grabbing hold of her luggage once more, she went to the hallways with the bedrooms. Maybe she'd just use the room she'd used last year? The one with the juice stain on the wall, and the books that just didn't sit right? Feeling her way along the walls, she wrapped her left, free hand around the metal doorknob on the door that she just knew by heart from repeated trips here. Dropping her luggage for a second, she swiped her keycard on the door, unlocking it. Cracking it slightly, she peeked into the room. To her relief, it seemed to be left unused. And it hadn't changed much from last year, apart from obviously being tidied up a bit after she had messed it up. She slipped inside, locking the door behind her, and dropped off her bags with a sigh, walking over to the bed and just...lying there for a while. Danm, it felt good to get that weight off her shoulders.

Regan avoided all the other students as she headed for the house. It seemed the hoards would die down as she got closer to the dorm, ever so slightly. Still, she avoided eye contact. The last thing she needed was a conversation to keep her hostage. Her arm was practically falling off!

Yanking her luggage around the halls, the darkly-dressed girl, made her way, at last, to the dorm building. Using her keycard to get in, she glanced up for a moment. It seemed students who had already met were already having small talk. She swiftly avoided them, at least for now. She needed to unload her weight first. Perhaps her dorm number or whatever would be on the keycard? She looked down at it, letting her book bag slip just to lean against the wall for a moment, scrutinizing it. She didn't want anyone to bump into her. That would be irritating.

After a bit of scrolling through her apps, Regan glanced at the time, and her phone battery. 60%.

I need to charge my phone...aren't I supposed to be heading to my dorm anyway? Regan thought, glancing in the direction of the building. With a tap of the off button, she swiftly slipped her phone into her pocket and reached for her bags, containing the essentials, as well as her phone charger. She stretched out her legs and stood up, slinging her backpack over one shoulder. Perhaps she should meet her dormmates. She's be spending the year with them, after all.

She groaned upon realizing her dorm rested on the other side of the campus. The luggage was heavy, weighing on her back and right arm. At least it would be a relief to get this stuff off of her. Then she could get around much easier without her luggage getting caught on everything. Case in point, why were there so many students? Wasn't this meant to be a small school?

Boltz was leaping around at this point, much to Riko's annoyance. "So...are we all in agreement?" He stared at the others intently. "We get our trainers to go outside together?" Boltz was a social Pokémon, so he really wasn't opposed at all to the idea of venturing out with complete strangers. Maybe even getting to know them as well. He loved the idea of making more new friends. Safe to say he was the opposite of Regan. He remembered his old trainer liked to meet new people. He loved parties, he loved his friends...and he loved his Pokémon.

Regan too, found herself on her phone on her way to the courtyard, tapping away on her video games as she unconsciously weaved around the other students on her way to the courtyard. The initial nervousness that came with a new school on the first day was lost now that she had arrived upon her second year. Now she'd had a better idea of what classes she's like to take, and was feeling rather confident about the year ahead.

She'd had no friends to make the journey with. She'd simply not bothered to let them distract her. Her few close friends had failed to make it in last year, so she communicated through text and occasional hangouts. None of them were here now, so she didn't feel the need to distract herself with the chatter that surrounded her as the students pushed through.

It felt good to be at her second year at such a prestigious facility. It fed into her ego that she could look at such a place and say 'been there, done that'. Of course, no one would know that she was looking down her nose at them. That was an advantage of being 'the quiet kid'; that, and being taller than most of them.

Upon reaching the yard, she found her own little corner and leaned against a tree, sighing as she now poured all her focus into the screen. Sure, she could be getting to know people, but that wasn't really what she had come here to do. She was here to get an education, and have fun with her chosen courses. Her plans had no room for forcing herself into unwanted social situations. She completely zoned out, all apart from a subconscious feeling of the earth for the students around her.

Appearance:
Regan is a tall, slim woman with pale skin, green eyes, and hair that is strawberry blonde in color, hanging in a ponytail just passed her shoulders. She is described to have a graceful gait, and a slight sparkle in her eye. She wears mostly dark clothing, in the form of a short sleeved black shirt with a brown fox head print on it, and long black leggings. She wears long, leopard print socks and brown tennis shoes.

Personality:
Stengths: When placed into a social situation, which she tends to dislike, she can hide her averse distaste for working with others rather well. She is a good leader, and is capable of listening to and incorporating others' ideas. She excels at keeping a calm demeanor and a level head with others. She values family, though due to her past, that family is moreso with whom she chooses rather than who is related to her.

Neutral: She is quiet and prefers to keep to herself to to her introversion.

Weaknesses: Her calm and and collected demeanor can end up coming off as being condescending, not that that would be inaccurate. Rea does have a bit of a superiority complex, and while she's good at hiding it, when her anger slips she comes off as more 'Pfft, you don't know what you're talking about, I'm better than you' than the explosive anger of others. She has a 'quiet rage' as she calls it, and can come off as icy. She has a naturally negative outlook of the world, and doesn't express much hope for people. She can decide who she likes and dislikes on a whim, and has a habit of holding onto grudges.

Anything art. For some reason, Rea is fantastic at anything requiring creative talent. Whether that be arts and crafts, theater, or music.

Riko had met Meng's gaze for a second, coolly and calmly. Patience...this won't be much longer. Before turning back to her little party. "Agreed. My plan is essentially to badger our trainers into going out together." She flexed her claws. "It's about time we got to the bottom of this, but those officials aren't gonna let any one of us out alone. The constant onslaught of Legendaries is causing them to go into lockdown." As she said this, the vaguely heard the the doors locking tightly behind Willow as she ran in.

Regan had caught up enough to catch wind of the conversation, Riko's side, anyway. "You know I can hear you, Riko." She muttered under her breath, awkwardly trying to maneuver her way around the increased population density of the room. Honestly, she wouldn't be opposed to banding together with others to leave if it meant some breathing room.

Honestly, this would be a very interesting idea if the punishments didn't exist. Particularly the loss of items one. I understand they're supposed to be a nerf for the 'generous' payout of the box, but imo, the risk is not worth the reward in this case.

A risk VS reward system only really works if the reward outways the risk. 'Is it worth all this time and effort and possible failure?' You seem to think it is, but I disagree.

Now, the possibility of obtaining 4 summon items at once is intriguing, but is it worth loosing 10 of the ones I currently have in the process?

So, you didn't specify the amount, but I take this to mean if you have something less than a hundred, you'll loose just under 10 items of that type. If you have over a hundred, you'll loose more than 10, and so on. Problem I have with this is that a risk vs reward system only really works if the risk exists within that system somewhat. Take the Coin flip game in the game center for example: The whole point of the game is that you can place your bet in to be possibly rewarded with double the GC you put in, the risk is that you could loose your bet if you aren't lucky. Loosing game chips is obs not nearly the the same as loosing your bag items. In this case, you'd be loosing something that you likely obtained through other means, like summon items from mystery boxes/buying them. Say you were saving up for a shiny hunt, and had about 150 rubies for that hunt. Say you went through the effort of getting this box, opened it, only to loose 10 of said rubies? That is a lot of value to be loosing in a single chest.

Also, one may be able to say the 'nerf' is the difficulty to obtain the box. As you describe it, it would be about twice the difficulty of a mega stone + 10 summons items. That, plus the fact that you'd have to wait at the very least over a month just trying to get fragments for this thing. Honestly, alone I don't think this is worth the effort, certainly not with the risk of loosing my hard-earned items! Not to mention, even if I do earn a reward, I'm more likely to obtain gems or mystery boxes, which I could easily get through the game center or rumble respectively.

All in all, I don't think this box is worth it. Even if I can get increased shiny chance, it's just too much effort and too high a chance to fail imo.
