Itsu stopped in her tracks as Vix slid to a halt, turning around to look at her master. She heard pawsteps behind her, as Domino's weight suddenly pushed into her back, and Eclipse was weaving underpaw. Was the magic back? If that were the case, Itsu should probably turn back. A puff of smoke came from her nostrils. In any case, this wasn't over yet. If the crystal was in danger, someone was getting clawed...or scorched. Certainly bitten.

Itsu turned around, sliding on her heels, yet making sure to avoid the grey fox underneath her. Her trio of companions followed her swiftly out of the forbidden zone. They shouldn't get in trouble if the staff happened to be nearby. She passed a familiar smelling black dragon on her way back, and absentmindedly informed him. "The magic is back, don't worry about it." For now. She added silently. She certainly wasn't going to forget this. Whatever had attacked the crystal probably wouldn't give up after one failed attempt. They were dealing with a malicious entity, she was sure of it. She just couldn't for the life of her understand their motives.

She was soon back in her dorm. She said nothing to any dragons she saw, simply curling up on her bed. It seemed at least she was safe for now.

Illusionist soon saw the dragon he was chasing was nothing more than another student. She must have had the same concerns as she was, as she informed him the magic had returned. He attempted melting into the shadows to test. Yup, seemed to be so. He began to trail her on the way back, breaking off as she headed for the female dorms. He still had his keycard, as he hadn't forgotten to take it with him...or perhaps he'd fallen asleep with it on? Oh well. He headed back to his bed and curled up, though he didn't know if he expected to sleep.

Illusionist was long gone at this point. He caught a glimse of fire in the dim morning light, and ran faster after it. He thought he saw a white shape, a familiar one. But where had he seen it? Ahead of her was a small crreature...a dog, perhaps? Was the dragon hunting it? Now? He leaped into the air, pumping his wings, trying to catch up. He knew where he was going. He had to find that gem, whatever it took. He had to figure out if this other dragon was friend or foe, though.

Itsu was getting closer as she ran, she knew it. She had to be. There was a sense of freedom that she git from just going into the forbidden zone. On the side of justice, of course. She could smell something up ahead...dragons? Smoke? She huffed another snort of flame, she was catching up to her fox companion. Were they getting closer?

Illusionist awoke due to a strange feeling. He had been restfully sleeping after that hectic day, hopeful for what tomorrow would bring, and rather curious. He expected to sleep the whole night, for, contrary to what his dark appearance may lead one to assume, Illusionist was no night owl. He enjoyed the beauty of sleep, the visions that it brought, the illusions that sparked color into his mind, turning his memories and daydreams into nighttime fantasy.

Something had yanked him from that paradise, though. This feeling. It was almost...empty. He lifted his head and checked his dresser. Nope, it didn't seem as if his toys had gone missing. It was almost like he could sense their presence. Yet still, he felt something was missing. Something that had been a part of him, like his fins or wings...as if it had disappeared overnight...escaped, walked away. It had slipped under his nose...but what was it?

His powers.

He decided to try the easiest one: Shadow surfing. He leaped into the nearest shadow, trying to melt into it like he loved to do. However, other than the natural camouflage of his black scales, nothing interesting happened. Now Illusionist was not a frequent user of his magic abilities. Two of them he'd never known a use for, and the Shadow surfing was really something he only used for fun. He was no malicious dragon. Yet, something felt off now that his powers no longer worked. Something had been stolen from him unfairly, and he did not take kindly to that. But what could have caused it?

He had a sudden thought and ran out of the dorm in a rush. This would be against the rules laid out during the ceremony, but he had a suspicion.

Itsu had not the slightest idea where Vix was taking her. If her taming powers no longer were working as they were supposed to, the only reason Vix lent a single one of her pointy ears was because of the bond they already shared. Vix, unlike Domino and Eclipse, actually knew and responded to her own name, as Itsu had had the red fox since the beginning, a hunting partner, and a guardian, of sorts. It was almost as if their souls were linked, or so it felt. Itsu trusted Vix for this reason, and followed her. It seemed the little canine critter was after something.

After a while of chasing the fox, Itsu felt something...off. Where exactly was her companion taking her? She had a sense of deja vu, as if this was triggering something she'd heard earlier the day before. Was she off for the...off limits zone?

The crystal of power!

Itsu ran faster. Vix was a clever fox! Of course, that could be the only explanation for this empty feeling. The only reason her foxes had started to act up. Her aura had been stolen! She snorted a huff of flame in pure anger. Luckily, her fire making organs were not affected by magic, rather the chemicals in her body, though it might be hard to manipulate without her powers. Whoever had infiltrated the protected room of the crystal must be persecuted! Anyone who stole her foxes from her was in for a piece of her mind!

Itsu woke to a horrible smell in the air. That was the first sign. Fox urine...great. Usually she could trust the foxes indoors, her powerful magic kept them from...claiming the room. Something must be off, as all three of the foxes had sprayed everywhere. With an irritated grunt,she ushered the foxes out. Somehow, only Vix listened to her, the other two took some persuading. What was going on?

Upon encouraging the trio out, she heard Vix grunt and run off, as if chasing something. She looked back at Itsu, as if wanting the dragon to follow her. Itsu groaned. She just wanted to go back to sleep. She absolutely hated it when her precious rest time was ruined, but it wasn't like any dragon could fall asleep with the pungent odor filling the room. "Alright fox, I'm coming." She muttered, following the little creature.

"Right." Illusionist nodded. "That makes more sense." He couldn't imagine how the ceremony must have bothered him, that an Illusionist's chatter as well. He began to snack on his dinner again, taking note of a couple other dragons entering the library, but thankfully, saying nothing. He was glad Halu had told him about his issue. Even if he was working to fix it, it would be good to note if he would be keeping this friendship up the entire year. Hopefully they would, he didn't see a reason why not, as long as he kept his...hobby in check.

The black dragon wrapped his tail around his back legs, leaning against the side of a bookshelf, helping himself to his salad. He supposed they'd stay here for the rest of dinner, provided it didn't suddenly become noisy.

The little black dragon shook his head. "Well, I certainly was not going to leave a perfectly good tray of bugs there when I had every intention to eat it!" He replied, placing a little dragonfly in his mouth. Though he took care to make sure that any remains landed on the tray and not the floor. Not that he was a messy eater, by any means--most of the food on his tray could be eaten in one bite--but it didn't hurt to be mindful.

"And don't worry about it. You're still the first and only friend I've met in this school, what am I supposed to do when said friend storms out into the hallway for no reason? 'Course I'm gonna be concerned. And besides, where else is there to go right now? Back to the cafeteria?" He could attempt to talk to people there, but despite his social nature, he quite liked the quiet right now, it was something he didn't see often at s.chool

Illusionist followed Halu to the library in silence, not wanting to upset the anxious dragon more. He had not the slightest idea what could be going on, and he felt it rude to ask. He certainly was no medical professional, nor did he want to be one. There was only so much a teenage dragon could do for a dragon he just met. It seemed like a quiet place like the library would be the best option, especially since the...energetic dragons were at the cafeteria now. He thought of the speedy dragons from when he first made his journey here. He had seen them at the insect table as well. Maybe he could meet them later...

He shook his head. Focus on Halu, chaotic maybe friends later. Luckily, again, the library wasn't too far off, but hopefully far enough so that whatever was bothering the storm dragon would be blocked out.
