If you have seen a Pokémon at the Honey Tree, and it was a SHINY.. the only difference is that the image is in its shiny version, like this one.

But, the honey tree info below it will usually say if it's SHINY or not, plus a red star icon to really tell you if they're SHINY.. besides having a shiny version of its Pokémon image. ;)

You are supposed to see it "fishing" on/by the "Home" tab, like this.. You'll not miss him, unless you're online via mobile? 'Coz it might be a bit off the edge of the screen as said from other users iirc. Not sure if that was fixed yet, since I can't test that part anymore. :S

The official Rowan's tasks are sometimes hatching a bunch of eggs and leveling up Pokémon for him.. the other ones are making Berry juices for him, but that's another story. :O

The important reward is getting a Golden Pokéball + an item from Professor Rowan.
Because if you've collected 5x Golden Pokéballs from him, you'll see an event with the Prof. that'll give you a special event Pokémon (egg). ;)

If you happen to reject/lose in the tasks he gave you, he will just keep giving that same task until you finish/win from it..

Nothing specific.. since I just tried going to the Lab every 15mins to an hour, until that Prof. Rowan gives me a task. :/

But, within any day in a week, Prof. Rowan will start giving out tasks on a Monday.. onwards.
Because, most of the level-up-the-Pokémon task, your Rival Pokémon in them will start to raise their level on a Monday upto the end of that task.. :c

So, it's most preferable if you manage to get a Lab task on Monday rather than later.. since most of the tasks end on a Sunday. ;)
