Hey everyone!
I really love this site but there is something that really annoys the heck out of me.
Just found out that I am eligable to participate in "Newbie Mentoring" and was really happy, since I love to help.
Only problem - I have so far taken on 7 different "newbies", offering my help without a single person responding to it.

Yes, I know that noone is obliged to respond and that's perfectly fine. But now they all are level 5 - 10 and my list keeps getting longer and longer. I really would love there to be either a way to get rid of mentored Newbies that don't respond for a certain time (since Mentors are more or less forced to contact them within a certain time frame to be eligble for mentoring them) or a cut-off based on level when they are no longer considered "Newbies" and therefor no longer eligble for mentoring. If they had contact with their assigned mentor already then that doesn't get lost, since the PM don't disappear. But if they didn't, their loss. Sorry.

No worries.. Those "newbies" will be automatically removed from your list after they're being inactive within days (7) to months (3).. iirc. ;)

But, there are some instances if they're already "removed" that they'll come back into your list when they suddenly come back online. :O

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.

Yeah, but they are not "inactive" - they just don't respond. Not even a "Hey, thanks for your offer but I'd rather figure it out myself" And while that is their right, they don't have to talk to me or anyone, it is super frustrating to get more or less forced to get into contact within 10 Minutes before you "lose" the newbie and then have a list full of non-responsive "newbies".

I'm gonna be honest, it really makes me not want to mentor (for the moment) since I kind of feel like I waste my time trying to offer my help only to be completely ignored.

I know what you mean, since I'm a mentor also.. "newbies" that don't respond to me is like 9/10 of them.
But, I still continue to be a mentor for the rare 1/10, I guess? :S

Well, inactive (or not), they will still get removed from your list within 7days (if inactive) upto 3months (for others..) . :B
