Character Name: Clara Milkweed
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Apperance: A porcelain girl with shoulder length dark sea green hair, strait, and forward facing bangs. Her eyes are a dark brown almost black.
Personality: Clara is incredibly intelligent both strategically and emotionally. She excels in manipulating people despite the obvious fact that she does not particularly enjoy other people. In contrast, she loves pokemon and connects with many pokemon, including wild, on a spiritual level. Trainers often envy her ability to communicate with even their own pokemon. In contrast, she actually hates battling (is pressured by her family to be a pokemon gym leader to follow in her families cliche legacy), and dreams to be a wild pokemon researcher. She empathizes with her pokemon too much but fails to pick up on normal social ques. This makes her appear standoffish and crass when in truth her heart is incredibly delicate; she's just waiting for the right people she knows she can really trust. Once you win Clara's trust you have a faultfully loyal friend until the end. That is, if she ever let herself have any friends.

I subjectively don't disagree with the message that Cony is trying to put out, but it came across the opposite of sugarcoated. I did not take it as blunt reality, more of a lemon-coated version that borders on personal attacks. I don't enjoy that representation of ego-stroking and overall the message did not sit well with me. I consider myself a more experienced visual artist but I don't enjoy putting others down in the process- there's a way to politely, though not sugarcoated, get your message across and the tone of this piece was mean. point blank.

Not to mention a staff member, an actual spriter on the site, commented and said they didn't like your use of examples.

Literally more content of this tutorial was calling out the creators and editing /critiquing pokehero than actually being helpful

Did the staff request it? I feel like you were definitely being helpful and your heart is in the right place but the overall tone of this tutorial was like you were giving them a pretty big slap on the wrist. Why would you choose to rework a pixel that the staff here created? That's basically telling them like, "hey sorry, your sprites aren't good enough". I thank you for the information and I can tell you worked really hard on this but the tone was really demeaning and I personally as a reader, did not take it with the best intentions. It felt like you were trying to call them out when there are plenty of poor examples you could have used or created yourself. That is just my feedback.

I've always been really happy with the way I look but I honestly don't really consider myself a vain or shallow person. It's usually things like lazy eyes or crooked noses that I'm attracted to most. Interesting scars and unique bone structures.
