One good thing about being a canine is that they were great at retrieving things, if they knew that that's what they were supposed to do. Kieran padded over to the edge of the well, letting out a confident bay. The noise echoed through the well.

Kieran took a few awkward steps, hesitating in between each. He wasn't sure what to do... Looking around, he could see some small vines and sticks lying around, but he didn't know how any could really help that much. He was stuck, and it was a frustrating feeling.

Despite his love of logic, Kieran wasn't the most careful, meticulous planner. He made a whining sound, trying to bring attention to the flower in the well. Someone else would be better at this.

This must be the well where the flower was hidden! Kieran bounded up to the edge of the well, his feet aching but excited to move. He peered down into the depths of it, searching for the flower.

Content, relieved and proud, Kieran trotted excitedly after the stone men. Looking at the sky told him that it was about noon... Just a few more hours before he could shift back into his human form.

This one was a little harder... but hearing and hearing again sounded like an echo, a little. The "dying until called again" fitted it as well... Unfortunately, this was the hardest one for him to scratch out. His claws kept jerking across the dirt, until he was left with an unreadable patch of earth. After pacing out of frustration, an idea came to him. Kieran barked, then again, quieter, and again and again, till the bark was silent, hoping that the humans would figure it out.

Kieran was thankful he'd picked up a riddle book after moving into town. He loved reading, and trying to slowly comprehend books like that had really helped him go from illiterate to a speed reader. Riddles with "beginning" and "end" often had to do with grammar or the spelling of words. Hmm... what did all of the words have in common? The letter "S"! After doing a quick check in his mind, he was pretty confident it was the correct answer. This one was easier to show, he traced out a letter "S" on the ground, while hissing like a snake.

Kieran stared back for a few seconds, before returning his attention to the stone men. He tapped his paws on the ground, ready for the next question.

Kieran had heard of this one before. "A tombstone!" he barked. No reply. He sighed. It probably needed to be in english.... Thinking quickly, he did his best to scratch out the word on the ground. It took a few minutes and it was hard to read... but maybe Melody or another human would get it? They'd probably question why a raccoon dog could spell too, but that wasn't important.

Kieran waited for riddle number one, his tail flicking impatiently.

Kieran knew a lot of monsters and creatures had strange fascination with asking riddles... a little strange to meet some now, but if they could help the group find the well, it would be worth it. "Sure... what's the first one?" Kieran asked. No response... He stared at the full moon in annoyance.

Kieran took a curious glance at the figures. Even with his small size, they looked pretty small. He stared back at the humans to see what they'd say.

Kieran said the same thing, then began padding back into the labyrinth, making sure that the humans were coming along as well. Time for another long while of just walking... he'd love to chat with someone, but that was impossible at this point. Just half a day left before the full moon was up.

Kieran nodded again. "Thanks again... erm... what should we call you?" He got his paws ready for more walking.

Kieran nodded. "Should we try and find our way back to you after we find it...?" The humans weren't hearing his questions, but the elemental was answering to the whole group, which made things easier.

"Thank you," Kieran replied, dipping his head to the deer. He'd learned that some beings of this caliber should be shown respect, and this seemed like the type of creature that fit the criteria. He was glad to hear that the humans - or at least Melody - were also coming along, even if they didn't have many other options.

Kieran sighed. The selfish side of him despised being in this predicament. Why did he have to do this? He didn't sign up for it! Though he supposed if you had to sign up, the list of people coming would be empty... someone had to, and it was to benefit the town he'd come to enjoy living in. "We'll try," Kieran promised. Hopefully he was speaking for the group.

Kieran nodded. "And I don't suppose this will be as easy as just finding it and burying it...?" There had to be some sort of obstacle in the way... nothing with such high stakes was ever easy. The sun was ascending further up into the sky, putting a warm glow on his pelt, but it wasn't reassuring.
